An original and beautifully written story, Progeny of Innocence took the term 'rebirth' and 'souls' to a whole new level!

It was a bit hard for me to get into the story because until this day, I was still a bit confused by the concept of both the New World and the Ancient World. However, the series never failed to awe me with it's creativity, originality and vividness. Patti Roberts has a way with words and it left me breathless. I've read many kinds of books, encountered many kinds of mythical c...more

Patti Roberts weaves a wonderful tale of magick and love in her Paradox series. I was pulled in by an 11 year old Grace in the first book, The Angels are Here, who was shattered by the loss her father. Now she is a teen who must find a place in the human world to better understand the spirit world and how to deal with her visions of a young woman who comes from her own past life. Through Patti, you get to travel into the supernatural as fallen angels hunt for Grace, and she begins her journey in...more

I am so glad that I started reading this series!! It was honestly one of the best new series that I came across in 2011!

After I had finished book 1, I was a little confused!! Most of the questions that I had after book 1 were answered in this book!! Which made me very happy! It also brought up some new questions!! Which also makes me happy because I know that there will be another book!! Yay!

I believe that my favorite character is still Grace (and not just because she is the main character and...more

I am absolutely over the moon excited to be sharing my review for this new book in Patti's series Paradox The Angels Are Here. Paradox: Progeny of Innocence is probably the best book to start off your New Year with I kid you not. If you read my review for the first book you will know how much I loved it, but, I love the second book even more and I know you will too.

As the book opens we get a much more detailed and in depth feel for the evil Grigorians, the characters she has created are like no...more

Okay here was my mistake with this book.... I accidentally read it before I read the first one. I got mixed up and thought this was the first book. But besides that this book was pretty awesome and I suggest you read, but read the first one first because it will save you from asking dumb questions and then slapping your self. But if you do get you in the same knack I was you'll be fine, but I gonna go read first one now.

I had read “Paradox-The Angels are Here" and looked forward to reading the second in the series and Progeny of Innocence did not disappoint. This book had such a captivating story woven intricately between the pages that this reader could not put down the story until its completion. I enjoyed the richness of the characters and all the facades of their personalities. The characters come alive and you can picture each and every one of them with the descriptions the author gives. All the questions I...more

I absolutely adored the first book of the Paradox series, The Angels Are Here, and naturally had to pick up the second one as soon as soon as it was available in the Amazon UK store. Progeny of Innocence was an even more amazing, wicked read than The Angels Are Here.

The novel begins with a brief account of the background story and is narrated by Juliette. Juliette is an old soul reborn in the body of a young girl, Grace. In the first book, Grace was just a girl, now she’s a 16-year-old teenager...more

The Paradox Series continues in Progeny of Innocence. The second book in the young adult series by Patti Roberts takes off where the first book left off.

The ancient world is in the middle of an all out war. The fallen angels, the Grigorians, are fighting their angel brethren, the Burgardians, and things are only getting worse. Chaos is still rampant under Grigorian Lord Cerberus’, house; however he is last to notice as his wife, Pandora, and his brother Abaddon scheme against him.

The Grigorians...more

Foram igualmente introduzidas novas personagens,...more

I was really excited when I got asked if I’d like a review copy of the second book in the series. I enjoyed The Angels are Here but I had loads and loads of questions after finishing the book, which I assumed would be answered further in the story – and let’s just say that in Progeny of Innocence, a lot of my questions were answered.

Firstly, I should say that the attention to detail in this book is every bit as good as in the first – there is still good artwork within the book, and it really do...more

I finally finished - I have to admit, I put off finishing this book because I so enjoyed it - I didn't want it to end. I love how the characters came full circle at the end!! As Patti promised, many questions that I had from the first book were answered in this one. The characters never ceased to enthrall me, the descriptions never ceased to take me to the scene, and most importantly, I was ALWAYS transported to another time, another place. I really can't put into words how important that is! As...more

The novel starts in 1081AD with a more in depth understanding of the Grigorians, the lives of Abaddon, Cerberus and Theria, as well as new characters Temulun, a Bakari servant, and Keyla who has the gift of the Ancients. We are then propelled forward to 2009 and the story of Grace continues.

Grace is a bright 16 year old who after losing her father at age 11 continues to have extremely vivid dreams. Dreams about things that seem familiar, faces, places and the name - Juliette.

Who is Juliette an...more

This is a series to watch (and read)! I enjoyed the first book which set the scene, introduced the characters and gave us an introduction to the two worlds that Grace sees. My review of Paradox: The Angels Are Here can be found here.

This book is even better and the story really takes off. We are given an understanding of some of the central characters who featured in the first instalment. There is a real presence of evil at work, with the blackest of characters you could find. There some new cha...more

Last year I reviewed the first book “ "Paradox - Angels are Here"” by Patti Roberts, and I was lucky enough to be asked to review the second book her trilogy – Progeny of Innocence. I enjoyed the first book and was not prepared for what the author had in store for her readers next. This book was FANTASTIC! I was spell bound from the very first page. She packed one heck of a literary punch with this book and this second book far excided my expectations.

Progeny of Innocence starts off where the f...more

It is like reading two books, the innocent teenagers' world and the harsh description of the evil's prevalence. If you get used to the writing style and the frequent changes in the use of personal pronouns (from 1st to 3rd person and the opposite), the jumping between present and past and the analytical review of every person's life till the end of the book, which was really an interesting approach, then you get along fine. The teenagers' company, many times, reminded me the "Vampire Diaries" yo...more

Perhaps I am just old, don't know
the basics of the story were very good and from a technical viewpoint well put together.
My main problem is the continual back filling of the back story. It tends to take you away from the main story way too often.
The characters are well written for the most part however some fall a little flat.
I can see the entire story as being more intense then what has been written. I do understand that it is written for the young adult and that does provide for it's own lim...more

Patti Roberts is an author that has taken every reader by storm with her magical world of the ancients and the enchanting story of Grace. Patti Roberts alongside author J.K. Rowling, Neil Gaiman, and David Clement Davies, has definitely become my idol and someone I look up too. Patti Roberts is the only author that I have gotten to know personally and have seen grow into a wonderful story teller.

I am honored to have read the first two books, and I can’t believe it took me a while to finish Prog...more

I dont want to spoil any of the fun for you, but this series I was unable to put down. Patti Roberts draws you into her wonderful world of magic and keeps you enthralled and wanting more. If you are looking for an unforgetable read, then you found it. I would give it 100 stars if i could. The price is right, and i can think of no better gift to get for yourself then book one of the Paradox series. One page and you will be hooked on the series/

Did I say something earlier about what most people could only HOPE to dream of???? Well, I won't be back from what I call "Patti's World" any time soon. Book two was all I could've hoped for and more. I want to be one of Patti's Angels! I don't have one single regret from doing nothing but reading Paradox; Progeny of Innocence for the past two days! Awesome writing Patti Roberts! I will be bothering you endlessly for the release date of book three...

This book was so hard to put down, it was SO good. It was even better than the first. I found that it explained some things that were left unanswered in the first, and I loved how it went more into detail in the past. I'm SO excited to read her next one!

Really liking this series... There's a huge mesh of characters that I'm starting to really like and I can't wait to read what comes next!

i absolutely loved this book. when it first started i was confused by all of the explaining and detail on characters i thought were insignificant to the story line but when you jumped back to grace and everything started to play out i fell in love with this book as i did the first one. can not wait for book 3
Ula
The second book started out a bit better than the first one but this time Grace was out of her cartoon faze straight into her teen magazines faze which was even more annoying. Again, there was some serious detailing about stuff that was very unimportant.
