I was curious about this book, because I had heard it was less extreme than a typical raw diet. Well, it was definitely still too extreme for me! Honestly, I think the whole point of this diet is to give you the runs, so none of your food stays in your body very long. My husband suggested that I could just go drink a glass of water from Mexico and have the same effect :) I gave it 2 stars because after I read this, I did want to incorporate more fruits and veggies into our diets, so that's a goo...more

A great book on raw/live food. I really like her view point and suggestions. She talks about all the things that bring greater health when it comes to eating: proper food combining, small meals, raw fruits, veggies, nuts & seeds (she also suggests goat milk, organic eggs and fish), she strongly belives in colonics, and doing some form of exercise, esp. tai chi or yoga. She has a different approach than most raw fooders, looking at food more from an eastern standpoint of containing life force ene...more

This approach to food as Life Force Energy really resonates with me, as I am also a fan of A Course in Miracles and the work of Patricia Bisch, and Lynn McTaggart. Rose does NOT push only raw, or vegan or even vegetarian foods. She mentions pH but only because foods that promote a healthy pH in the body also tend to meet her criteria of increasing or at least not decreasing your Life Force Energy (chi/qi/ki/prana/manna).

I only read it today but the recipes look awesome. I was so exci...more

I was really fascinated by the philosophy and theory behind this book. I really liked reading about this perspective on our bodies and the way they need/use energy. I learned a lot of interesting things (practical principles) from the book that I have been implementing in my life that help make me feel good and help get rid of toxins.

However, I'm not entirely sure I buy into the idea of our "life force energy" and chakras.

I really enjoyed this book. I am very interested in health and nutrition. This book gave me many ideas that I will incorporate, but running a marathon this fall, I will not be able to go "completely" raw. I liked her philosophy regarding food and the energy that surrounds us.

Natalia completely changed my view on food. I thought I was eating healthily, but I learned through this book the importance of combining food correctly for quick-exit meals.

The only thing that weirded me out was all of her talk of enemas and colonics. Um...no.

I read this book and loved it. It is by the same author as the other Raw food book I read and actually I think you could read one or the other as they are alot the same! I can just say ditto on my other review for this review!

great recipes, great encouragement for a healthier way of eating and she does combine some cooked recipes, so it eases you into the raw food realm!

the sections on this book about life force energy were great and exactly why i bought it, but i was a bit disappointed that that was only in the first few sections, and towards the middle it started to sound watered down and more typical of targeting people who want to go on diets, etc which is what i generally try to avoid when reading about raw because it is a lifestyle and a sciene, not some illogical thing like atkins, but the upside was that even amongst those watered down sections, there w...more

I enjoyed trying out the Raw Food diet. I felt really good! The detox part is pretty extreme, but if you simply use the recipes then it's more of a good transition. I think the "transition phase" would be a good place to stay. I tried about 6-8 recipes & there were a couple that were not good & the rest were very very good. A lot of prep is involved, so if I do this again (which I very much want to) then I need to take one day to clean & prep all my veggies & fruit beforehand. I also v...more

I learned that my traditional diet of a "square meal" was a driving force in the decline of health as I reach middle age. So many things that our mothers taught us to put on our plate load us with toxins. Mix them in traditional combinations, and the damage intensifies. My own health results validate Natalia recommendations.

Good, fresh recipes (especially cashew cream), and some nice offerings for raw food meals, but this "lifestyle diet" is almost completely impractical.

This is a great introduction to a Raw Food lifestyle. I like how the author is forthcoming with relevent nutritional data, but doesn't use a scare tactic.

Another great book by ms.rose. I love the green lemonade in the detox diet book better but still really good!
