I really liked this book. Most parenting books I’ve read seem to be just common sense dressed up with flowerly language that I can’t help but roll my eyes at and say, “Yeah, no sh*t.” Fiona speaks plainly and gets right to the point which I really appreciated. Feminist mothering is raising our children to believe that all people are created equal and empowering our children with a sense of justice and awareness of self. I love that this book aims to listen to feminist mothers' voices. It's trying for an open-minded and open-ended investigation of what feminist mothers actually do and feel, and how their daughters engage with that mothering as well. However, the book's sentences are absurdly (and unnecessarily) long and complicated ... plus often oddly-punctuated and ungrammatical. A disappointing treatment of fascinating material.
