CoffeeTimeRomance andMore
Damaris Howard has learned to avoid romantic entanglements to protect the independence afforded to widows. Besides, she has no desire to be some lord’s mistress, not even if such lord is the handsome and utterly intriguing Lord Alec Rawdon. It is far better to engage in a few flirtatious remarks, if only Damaris could keep her renegade thoughts under control whenever Alec is around.

Alec is done with romance. His former fiancé has left him for someone else, and he would rather not have history re...more

It was no great surprise to me that this book continues Camp's Legend of St. Dwynwen trilogy with two intriguing characters from A Winter Scandal: Damaris, Thea's mysterious gal-pal, and Alec, the Earl of Rawdon, Gabriel's on-again-off-again friend. Anytime two side characters of opposite gender take an immediate dislike to each other, you can count on a sequel where they pair off.

Long story short: Rawdon talks Damaris into attending a ton event hosted by his sister. Damaris knows she shouldn't...more

I really loved this story of Alec, Earl of Rowden, and Damaris, the beautiful widow. We met them in the previous book. He was cold, aristocratic, and arrogant, having been deeply hurt by his first fiancee. Damaris is Thea's friend, a rich widow, who is free-spirited.

Alec and Damaris run into each other in London, although he was there on purpose hoping to see her. She is assaulted outside her home and the mystery begins. We watch them fall in love as Alec is trying to protect her from the unkno...more

As much as I enjoyed Damaris and Alec’s story, I liked the first book in this series better. After previously meeting in Chesley because of Alec being a friend to Gabriel and Damaris a friend to Thea, these two are introduced and then reacquainted in London. Alec was engaged to Gabriel’s sister and never got over her running away to be with someone else. Damaris is a widow with a shaky past that catches up to her and it’s up to Alec to save her-typical. I liked the back story of Damaris’s family...more

I'm givng this book 3.5 stars. I liked it a lot but there were some phrases that were just repeated too much. How many times do I need to have the characters hair colors described to me in some poetic fashion. I did like the story though. And Damaris and Alec were enjoyable.

I loved this one. I especially liked the ending with Alec going after Damaris despite his doubts. I really liked Damaris in the previous book and loved her in this one. This series has been a delight

Nice addition to the Legend of St Dwynwen trilogy. I did figure out who the bad guy was much sooner than the characters did.

I thought this was a good story. I liked the interaction between Damaris and Alec and enjoyed their characters. They were both strong, but not overly so and the attraction was spot on. Nice read!
Ewa
A tad boring story. Secrets, misunderstandings and pet peeve (view spoiler)[I love you so, but you're beneath my station and I won't marry you (hide spoiler)].

OK, I skimmed part of the book. Unremarkable overall, though I liked the characters.
