Oh my god. Oh my god. OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!!
POW had left me speechless and after Blood Rites I just can't catch my breath! My hands were glued to my kindle even when I didn't read. The whole Jacque & Fane drama aside, Jen and Decebel were just hilarious! I sooo recommend The Grey Wolves series to everyone!

I'm going to start off by saying WOW! I wrote a review for POW and I thought that book was amazing! But this book is hard to write one for. There's not enough words to describe how much I love this book! Quinn throws you into an amazing world filled with laughter, heartbreak, and lots of love. I was so pleased when looking through my friends updates, to find Blood Rites available! Needless to say, ... I promptly purchased it and glued myself to my nook! ;)

Blood Rites picks right up where Prince of Wolves leaves off. Just when you think that Jaque and Fane get though the worst of it, and are on their way to total bliss, ... in steps a new fur-ball. *snicker*

I promised to be honest, and so I am going to mention a few things I saw to be a bit unrealistic, in the second installment.

Blood Rites picks right up where Prince of Wolves leaves off. Just when you think that Jaque and Fane get though the worst of it, and are on their way to total bliss, ... in steps a new fur-ball. *snicker*

I promised to be honest, and so I am going to mention a few things I saw to be a bit unrealistic, in the second installment.

1. Jen and Sally. Where are their parents? I know they are mentioned here and there, ... they seem like a minor detail for two girls who are so involved in this story. I would think that there would have been some scenes written in that showed the readers the parents involvement. Sleep overs are one thing, but for the girls to be able to up and move with Jaque to Romania with Fane and his family, ... without even so much as a hitch, ... didn't seem very realistic to me. (Just speaking as a mother of five children). Also, ... the girls constant banter, even in the most stressful of situations, wore a little bit on my nerves this go round.

2. The entire hospital scene was not very realistic for me. When Jaque woke up from her coma, she picked right up where she left off. Staring into Fane's eyes and professing her love and how much she missed him. In reality, I KNOW Jaque would have been a bit confused as to where she was, and what happened. (Speaking from experience, ... you are totally out of it for quite sometime before things start coming back to you.)
When Fane tore up the hospital, ... where were the cops? Why didn't anyone see this on the multiple cameras that are surveying the hospital at all times? Beer in the hospital? Really? ... I will stop there because there were far to many things to point out that didn't make the story believable to me during this time in the book.

Now, ... on the upside. I thought there was a HUGE improvement in the grammar and dialog in the second installment. I think there was more depth in the back story, and we got a look at her father that passed on the were gene! Yeah! Poor Lilly and Dillion! :(

I absolutely LOVED the Blood Rites/marriage scene of the book! It was so beautifully written, and so romantically intimate. I honestly thought that the whole blood exchange would creep me out, but Quinn wove the story convincingly enough, that it seemed like such a natural thing in the wolf world. I just love Jaque, and Fane! Also, ... Kudo's to Quinn for keeping it tasteful and clean in the intimacy department!

There is one last thing I want to comment on. How great is all this tension between Jen and Decebel? I am so looking forward to what is in store for this new couple on the horizon! This is what makes a great story! Suspense and tension. Not everything in life is going to work out smooth the way we want it to. There are going to be bumps and obstacles to get to where we want to be in life. It's the devotion to see it through that makes the journey so believable.

Regardless of the few flaws that I mentioned, ... I still very much enjoyed Blood Rites and am looking forward to book three!

If you read Prince of Wolves, you know you've been chomping at the bits to get some more of Fane and Jacque and Blood Rites does not disappoint! Things were left untied between Fane and Jacque in Prince of Wolves, but you get the much needed conclusion in Blood Rites. It is sensual, which we adults all know we wanted, but remains appropriate for the teen reader.

New conflicts are introduced with different characters, so we are left with the need to know what's going to happen. I'm just as excite...more

But when everyone is busy pointing fingers, no one is watching the one wolf that lurks in the shadows, making his plan that much easier to carry out. With Jacque in grave condition and in the hands of an angry wolf determined to make her his mate, the clock is ticking as Fane's heart is torn in two. I was so excited to see where Loftis would take Jacque and Fane's story, I was anxious for their HEA that they so deserved but clearly they had more of their adventure to get through first. When Jacque's father, Dillon was introduced, I was torn between my curiosity and my anger over his lack of respect for Fane and his pack. I just wanted to slap him when he started throwing his weight around!! It was definitely a love-hate relationship with this guy, because you could see he truly cared for Jacque and wanted to be in her life, but he had a very warped opinion on the right way to do it. He was a great character, though, it added depth to Jacque's past and I ended up liking her mom a lot more after seeing firsthand how hard Dillon's leaving was on her.

When the antagonist is introduced, in no way whatsoever was I prepared for just how bad this guy was going to be. Lucas, Lucas, Lucas, oh how I loathe you!!! Lonely old werewolf or not, the things he puts Fane and Jacque through, the torture he causes them both, made me sick to the core. When Fane felt Jacque's pain through their bond and he was so utterly crushed, my heart just shattered to pieces for him!! I was in tears on more than one occasion reading about the pain they both had to endure, Loftis put so much heartbreaking emotion behind it. Lucas deserved the most brutal of endings after what he did to Jacque, but she was so strong and brave through it all. I loved her even more after seeing her face all of this pain and anguish. The fact that she felt the need to do it alone because she thought Fane wouldn't want her if he sensed what was happening, it just made the whole situation that much more crushing. If there were a vote for "bravest book heroines", Jacque would definitely get mine after what she goes through for Fane in this book!! The bond they share and the love they have for each other was so strong and unbreakable, and I was so impressed with what a beautiful love story theirs turned out to be.

Once again, and actually even more so than in PoW, Loftis adds her clever and quick-witted humor that had me busting out laughing left and right. Honestly, I don't know how she comes up with this stuff, but the characters Loftis created with Jen and Sally are downright hysterical!!! There were so many lines and scenes that had me cracking up, they truly do make this story enjoyable on a whole other level. These two, and even Jacque at times, are like a comedy act unfolding before your eyes. I can promise you that you will never hear the songs "Sweet Virginia" or Katy Perry's "ET" without thinking of these characters and LOL!!! Then there's the flirty banter between Decebel and Jen, which was so hilariously adorable; they are so stinkin' cute together!! And the tension between them is off the charts even in the midst of all the comedy they bring to the story! *swoons*

I was blissfully happy with the way Blood Rites wrapped up (OH MY, talk about going out with a bang!!), Loftis gives us just what we wanted for these beloved characters while keeping us on the hook for the next book!! I am SO excited to see Jen and Dec's story next, I'm definitely diving into Just One Drop right away!! Highly recommend this series to YA fantasy fans!!!(less)

While sexy and sassy Jen toes the line with Decebel’s heart, a plan to overthrow the Romanian Alpha is set in motion and all is not what it seems.

Loftis captures your mind and imagination and shows us a world that we all secretly wish could exist, I mean who doesn’t want to know there are some hot werewolves out there looking for someone to call there mate? With heart pounding action scenes, beautiful character development and comical moments to break the ice she shows an improvement in her writing and enthralls fans young and old. With a pinch of action a dash of blood and a whole lot of romance and sexy werewolves you have the recipe for the perfect Paranormal Romance Novel.

Hands down, Sally and Jen were the best characters in this book! While the author over did the dialogue in some chapters with these two, where they should not have been the focus, they literally had me laughing out loud when reading this book. I really enjoyed reading about Fane and Jacque though and I really hope they have more of a presence in the next books then the blurbs seem to indicate that they do. Gosh... I'm in love. I'm sorry Jacob Black but you have absolutely nothing in Fane Lupei. I'm in love. The rating in my head kept going up, down, down, up nd then back up. I am really liking this series. It's the banter between Jacque and her friends. I have to admit I feel more invested in Jen and Decebel than Fane and Jacque. They seem more realistic, even though one is supernatural. Looking forward to the next book about those two.

Honestly, I love this series. However, there were some major plot holes and I really wasn't happy with the fact that we spent yet another book building up to the bloodrites of Fane and Jacque. (Also, how are y'all saying Jacque's name because I kept thinking of the French pronunciation of a guy's name. Okay, so the plot holes. The one that bothered me the most had to be how Jacque suddenly has wolves chasing after her all the time. This part unfortunately reminds me of Twilight. Both characters...more Honestly, I love this series. However, there were some major plot holes and I really wasn't happy with the fact that we spent yet another book building up to the bloodrites of Fane and Jacque. (Also, how are y'all saying Jacque's name because I kept thinking of the French pronunciation of a guy's name. Okay, so the plot holes. The one that bothered me the most had to be how Jacque suddenly has wolves chasing after her all the time. This part unfortunately reminds me of Twilight. Both characters were not that experienced with relationships and then suddenly had multiple guys "in love" with them. A majority of the guys only showed interest in Jacque after Fane showed up. Is that realistic? Add in the fact that you suddenly have a Beta betraying their Alpha to steal the Alpha's daughter in the middle of the night even though the Alpha was going to take said daughter home with the pack and it makes even less sense. All of that aside, the characters are amusing and I find this series super fluffy. Who doesn't love a little fluff occasionally? Now, can we talk about Jen and Dec? They have to be one of the greatest couples I have read about. I love the dynamic. I could do without all of the angst and just have the flirting but I'll live. (view spoiler) Is it just me of did Dec's name change between the first and second? First spelled with an a then with an e that just bothers me. I also find some of the little discontinuities with the wolves slightly annoying but I suppose I'll live. I feel bad that I had to bring this book down to three stars because of the similar plot line and the plot holes but it really is an excellent series. Three stars. If you like fluff, definitely read it.(less)

There aren’t a lot of females and Jacque was living in his territory, but I am not buying Logan’s insta-obsession with Jacque in this. He needs a mate. The darkness is consuming him. We get it. So he sets plans into motion to get what he wants: a mate. And this is Jacque (again).

Jen and Sally weren’t quite as annoying to me in this one, but I still did not find their jokes and sarcasm even remotely amusing or endearing and it is clear that the author intends it to be. I think this might just be me because I read quite a few reviews where the readers felt like they were quite funny and endearing. If I said that with this book and said it with the first book, then you might ask yourself, “Why does she keep reading them then?” That is a good question. The answer is that the story line was great in the first one, and while this second book felt like it was the same song, different beat, I still enjoyed it. What I enjoyed most though was watching Decebel and Jen’s interaction (I know, I am a big ball of contradictions since I just said that Jen is annoying to me).

My favorite lines in this book:

“…shining light where there has been only darkness…” --Fane to Jacque (vows for the blood rites)

AND

“He dared me to give him a reason to kill someone if the time came that he called me Virginia and it no longer pertained to me.” --Jen to Sally (telling Sally what Decebel leaned over to whisper in his ear)

This is the sequel to Prince of Wolves #1, Prince of Wolves. Blood Rites saved me from a deep rooted sadness after Prince of Wolves ended, and I wasn't ever more happy than when I discovered it was a series.

So after reading Prince Of Wolves, I quickly bought book #2 in THE GREY WOLVES series, Blood Rites. Holy cow, it was just as good as book #1. This series has the "hook, line, and sink" effect.

It definitely gets the full five stars (it did have a few grammatical errors, misspellings, etc. sprinkled throughout), but those were easily ignored.

this, and the first book in the series, seems to be running parallel to "fifty shades of grey", in that everyone is raving about it, but i really didn't like it. there was nothing original in this book. one example: the fact that unmated wolves give in to the "darkness" and go mad without finding their other half, their mates. hello, christine feehan fans - does this sound at all familiar to you??

I thought the Prince of Wolves was great but Blood Rites is even better. My daughter got me started on Quinn's books with the Prince of Wolves because I had to be in bed for a while and I am so glad that she did because it really took me "outta my bed and into the world of Blood Rites". Shelves: werewolves, shifters, sounds-good

This isn't one of my favorites, I don't know why since I'm normally a werewolves #1 fan.

The writing style doesn't get me all wrapped up I'm the story- not that it isn't good, but it's not my style personally.

Other than that I think this was better than the first one a little more action and excitement in the story. I loved Jen and Decebel's relationship! It had me laughing my ass off!

Finally! Jacquelyn and Fane have become bonded to each other. I was soooo tempted to go to the end of the book and find out if they were mated, but by mustering up the will power, I managed to be honest with myself and read the book cover to cover. This was equally as good as the first book Prince of Wolves. Uhh where do I even begin

Quinn Loftis is a fuckin genius! How does someone come up with this stuff I mean you serious ? I couldn't come up with half the stuff in this book. And you know the part that gets me the most is

Just when you think it's safe to bind with your mate, in walks yet another psycho flea bag. I will admit to being peeved about this despite my professing it's part of the genre and to get over it.
