Kimberly Kinrade finishes this series off with a bang. From the minute I started reading this series I was hooked, and to be honest I am a bit sad that it is over. Throughout this series I have became attached to Sam and Drake. I love when an author writes so well that you become attached to a character and Kinrade does just that. Forbidden Life is the non-stop, fast paced, edge of your seat final installment of the Forbidden Trilogy, a fantastic YA novel.

I thought book 1, Forbidden Mind was good, and it was, but then I read book 2 Forbidden Fire and it was even better. I expected Forbidden Life to be a much calmer, wrap up of the story. It was the exact opposite. It had more action and suspense than the other two books combined.

I thought book 1, Forbidden Mind was good, and it was, but then I read book 2 Forbidden Fire and it was even better. I expected Forbidden Life to be a much calmer, wrap up of the story. It was the exact opposite. It had more action and suspense than the other two books combined.

I loved, loved, loved that Luke and Lucy--particularly Lucy--got an even bigger spotlight in this book. They are fantastic characters and have quickly grown to be my favorite. Kimberly, if you're reading this, I'd love to see more Luke and Lucy in the future ;)

What else is there to say? The characters are lovable and have you rooting for the good guys and booing the bad guys from page one. There are twists and turns that I didn't expect, keeping my gripped and on the edge of my seat. Forbidden Life also broaches on more mature subjects that the other two didn't address, but is done tastefully, without dressing it up or making things appear more glamorous than they are. Questions from the entire series are wrapped up here, but there is definite room for spin offs, which I believe are in the works, but don't quote me on that.

Some of the things addressed in this series are homosexuality, first loves, single parenthood, unplanned pregnancies and sex. Yes, these are some big topics that are very controversial. Normally, if I found these topics in a YA novel I would be leery but Kimberly handles them all well and to a level that I think is appropriate for children from the ages of 12-18, but as parents you have to use your own discretion. Nothing is glamorized, gone into great detail, or shoved in people's faces as right one way or the other. Reality is that we are faced with these things every single day and so are the young adults in the world as they navigate their way through highschool which are some of the most confusing years of any teens life.

Like I said, in the end you have to decide for yourself if these are topics you are comfortable reading or having your children read. I won't condone them one way or the other. In the end, I loved the book. It's my favorite of the entire series and I love the series.

I hope to see many more YA book by Kimberly Kinrade in the future. 5 Stars for Forbidden Life

I was surprised how different this book was from the other two. I did not enjoy it as much at times, but at other times I thought it was just as good.

I didn’t enjoy it first because it did become so very sci-fi, and that is definitely not my genre. Second, I think its level of intensity was completely different and threw me off from the story. Building to a climax for the main characters, this third book in the trilogy brings the characters into the most difficult and life-effecting decisions they have yet been faced with. There is a stronger feeling of sci-fi to this book, highlighting the author’s ability to world-build and integrate new elements without losing the other elements that readers have come to love and enjoy. Forbidden Life is the longest read in the trilogy and in my own opinion the best! The story was like a giant roller coaster that crept up a steep hill and even though you knew the end was coming you still won't be entirely ready for it. It will consume your mind with its many layers and intricate plot. The plot thickens with every chapter and the suspense just keeps building. Every character has there own struggles to overcome and numerous obstacles to face. That in and of itself is brilliant because just when you think everything's going to be okay an unknown variable changes everything. You get to see tons of Lucy which is fantastic - she's so strong, independent, and fierce. Her perspective is incredibly entertaining and full of surprises. She really becomes her own character and as much as it is Sam's story it's also Lucys as well. Forbidden Life never has a single predictable moment and that's what makes this whole series standout in a sea of other YA novels. This book is also my favorite of the entire trilogy though I did say that about the last one Forbidden Fire, it just went beyond everything; surpassing greatness for excellence. COMPLETELY LOVED IT.

Drake's a hot mess having left Sam you get to see where he ends up. Sam's baby is born and her life just keeps spiraling out of control. Lucy and Luke get into a very entertaining situation. There are a few added perspectives from other minor characters which is fascinating insight to glimpse there own views. One of my favorite things about this book is how Sam finally becomes a confident and extraordinary heroine. She isn't playing games with anyone anymore especially when they interfere with her mission of protecting her family. She'll do anything to keep them safe. Yet again Sam and her friends are at war to take down once and for all the leader behind Rent-A-Kid; her father. New characters are introduced that are really cool and extremely likeable such as Agent Hunter Riley who has a growing romance with Lucy - he's completely delicious, and his personality is magnificent. He also has some interesting secrets of his own. Then there's Toby - a street kid who has some really funny banter with Drake. The villains of this book are even more insidious, with twisted agendas of there own. There are some really cool science fiction moments integrated into the series blending together fantasy, paranormal, and dystopian elements that make it something entirely new.

Like the previous books this one also has its dark moments however not as morbid as the others. I didn't mind the violence as much because the story captivated all else. The characters in this book are expansive and you see everyone more and there para-powers evolve and there's a lot of evolutionary factors that explain how these powers came about. A lot is concluded in Forbidden Life so not once did I feel like it didn't have an acceptable ending or an unrequited resolution. The only small issue I had was that up until halfway through Luke was seriously irritating me with his attitude. Intentional or not that got to me. In the 2 previous books he's portrayed as fun, cute, and strong. In the first half of Forbidden Life he's made out to be a giant complainer, weak, and annoying. I tried really hard to overlook this but every time I did he would do something that would make me angrier. I don't like whiny characters but thankfully he got back on track and the second half of the book made my thoughts on this matter disappear; I was SO enthused he was able to redeem himself. Although I felt this way it made his character growth development more intriguing as all the characters individually had a lot of soul searching to do. Overall it was overwhelmingly fantastic and is now one of my newest favorite trilogies.

I really want to read more about this world Kimberly Kinrade created and I cannot wait to get my hands on her future works!(less)

Sam knows that her father intends to eventually get his way. He wants to put his hands on the power she and her baby harbor deep within. In his mind, it'll allow him to make something of the dreams and plans he's been building for so long. Unfortunately, she never counted upon his being one step ahead at all times. Never-the-less, she's determined in thwarting his every plan and will do anything to achieve it. Including putting those she loves on the front lines, much to her dismay, in order to make sure that she'll put a kink within his every goal, once and for all.

This was a delightful end to such a wonderful series. I enjoyed it immensely. Although, I confess I found myself wanting to read more. It's that good a story!

I think Kimberly has crafted such a wonderful world around these characters. A world that anyone can relate to. These characters are ones that will dig into your heart so deeply that you'll find yourself sympathizing with each and every one of them. At times, you'll even root for the bad guys because of the unique circumstances they find themselves. I definitely recommend this series for reading. It's one you'll end up reading time and time again.(less)

Kimberly has an art of capturing you in the story pulling you through the intense series and then closing all the questions. There is no room for second guesses or maybes. Every question is answered and every I is dotted.

I am so sad that this series is ending as I really loved it. I will say that the author knows how to have a series go out with a bang. She truly delivered the action and romance in this one. The plot of this story was different from the others in that it went more in depth and had more of a sci-fi feel to it that I loved. It made for such an engaging read. It reminded me of watching a really good sci-fi movie with romance mixed in. I loved how vivid the descriptions of the world that Lucy and Luke found themselves on. The creatures that they encountered where so life like and realistic. It was also great to see more of one of my fav characters that you have to read to find out about because I don't want to spoil it. I loved the addition of Hunter to Lucy and Luke's dynamic. It made for some really funny moments as they had to learn to deal with someone else working with them.

I will have to say that I loved the author's writing style. She had such a way with words that made the story flow so easily and at a great pace. It made for a light,fun and engaging read with tons of action. The action had me so hooked into this book I found myself trying to read it in every spare moment I had because I had to know what would happen next. I loved seeing Sam and Drake interacting again and loved that their relationship showed the ups and downs and what some relationships may really be like. It made for a compelling read. Once again I hated to see this story end but the author managed to end the story perfectly. She wrapped up all the loose ends and didn't leave it with anything unfinished. If you haven't read this series yet you really need to and definitely this book.

Kimberly has done it yet again! Forbidden Life is my favorite book in the trilogy. My emotions were all over the place while reading. I loved the looks into other characters' point of views.

The story line is fast paced and makes you keep reading. I was putting off household duties to finish this book. ;) I absolutely love the characters. I feel like I know them on a personal level. Except Hunter, I MUST know more about him and his hotness. Just sayin'. There's a lot to that boy.

OMG!!! I love this series. I don’t know where I was when these books were being reviewed individually, but I’m so glad I read this trilogy. I totally agree with Sour Skittles about the Alias and Dark Angel tones, and the X-men vibe. I also see some Pretender elements with the whole being sent on missions where they can be anyone. My daughter is totally into fan fiction and mixed story fan-fiction, especially when the X-men are involved. This story is totally something she would be into.

This book was great. It was full of imagination and I loved the creativity. The trilogy had finally come to an end and I'll be sad to see it go:( Never-the-less, this was a great end to the story.

I loved the scenes between Lucy, Luke and Hunter. I felt like I was in a scene in Avatar or something of that level of creativeness. The giant beetles were my favorite as were the star flowers.

This is the final book in the trilogy. Drake doesn't have his powers. Scary things are happening to the kids at Rent-A-Kid. People are after Sam's baby. This book is full of excitement and action.. I really liked how the author built this world with all the distinct personalities of the characters. There is so much going on in this book.The final confrontation was really wild.

I really liked it. I loved how the story ended and I think the author did a great job in terms of originality and freshness of the story. The only thing that left me disappointed was the fact that I didn't feel connected to Sam's story, while I loved Lucy's story. I think Sam may have started to complain too much for my taste. I loved Drake as well.
4 stars for this final book, 3.5 for the entire series.

"Kindle Read". Author Kimberly Kinrade does it again in Forbidden Life, the third book in the Forbidden Trilogy. These are books that are a must read. They will capture you right from the beginning. Forbidden Life has it all, romance, trust, betrayal, forgivness, and we can't leave out the dangers that the energized characters encounter. Will definitely be reading more books from KK
