Rain drenched his clothing as a mob of people circled around him, blocking him in their barrier of tightly formed bodies. The faces of the great host blurred before him; he couldn't make out a single expression. He gazed at his chest and saw blood trickling down and falling into pools of water beneath his feet. At the same time, he held a sword firmly in his grasp. He inch ...more

I met the author at a writer's conference and was impressed by how nice he was, so I decided to buy his book and read it. This is the beginning of a series, and the end is one of those where you want to know more about the overall conflict between good and evil. The author told me he has plans to write the next book, but there is no specifics on when it'll be available.

That all being said, I really enjoyed the good vs. evil theme. The hero struggles between the desire to get involved in this bat

After simply reading Legend of the Seer's prologue, I was hooked. The descriptions and details are vivid, allowing me to paint clear mental images. The story flows smoothly with its modest assortment of peaks and valleys. I even broke in to a moderate sweat as I read the climax, its perfect details essentially playing a movie scene in my mind's eye. My expectations for this as a fantasy novel were simply met and then blown away.

Now I can't wait for the next book, as the ending screams "SEQUEL!"

First Read win: So going into reading this book, i had some expectations. I finally got to reading this book and they were just blown away. It was such a fun read. To me the emotion was vivid and I felt like the characters would just jump out of the book and start running around my room. The one big thing that jumped out to me was how throughout the book I never knew what would happen next. Let me tell you I so had the tendency to look ahead, but I made myself not do that.

I found myself staying up late at night, forcing myself to put it down to get some decent sleep some nights. The story is full of unexpected twists, with some predictability. I loved the vivid descriptions of the characters and all of the countries traveled. It is a great fantasy fiction, with a nice mix of adventure, love and battles, along with a good storyline
