A spin on a very very well known tale. I thought this book was FANTASTIC.

In this book, the wolf is an eco friendly hippy, and the 3 pigs are bad gangsters trying to build houses and ruin the countryside. This is a wonderful way to turn a story upside down, and this could be used to inspire KS2 (yrs 4-6) to write their own twisted fairytales.

The story can also be used to convey a serious message about being environmentally friendly, as during the building of the straw, wood, then finally brick to

This book is part of the seriously silly stories based on traditional fairy tales but with a comical twist. The Eco-Wolf knows it's important to give mother nature respect and lived in a peaceful valley with other animals. However the peace of the valley is interrupted by three big bad pigs who want to use the forest for property development. Nonetheless, the Eco-Wolf and the rest of the animals fight back and the story ends with the tree pigs leaving the forest and restoring it to its original ...more

And the award for the most biased book aimed at impressionable children goes to...

Eco-Wolf and the Three Pigs had the potential to be a good book, but instead of showing children that there are two sides to every story, it's just environmentalism propaganda. Al Gore would be so proud.

The solution to the book is that the factory is blown up. There's a tripping hippie and subtle references to drug use. So, could this book even be considered appropriate for children? Vandalism and drug use don't

My biggest problem with this book wasn't the insipid portrayal of the eco-friendly wolf, the explosion of a giant factory as the solution, or the hippie being stoned- it was the fact that I could not think of anyone that I would recommend the book for. It was fun to see another retelling and I was thinking I could really like it... but it was just... stupid. I didn't get it.

Three little pigs discover a valley where a Wolf and all the other woodland animals live happily. The three pigs decide they are going to destroy all the homes and build a new houses. Upset by the three pigs the Eco Wolf saves the day by stopping the three pigs with the help of his woodland friends.

Theme friendship, courage, environment

This would be a great way to read all the different stories and plot lines of the three little pigs to a class to show different view points and then have the st

It is a Seriously Silly book, so I guess that part is correct. A modern re-telling of the 3 little pigs story. Here the 3 pigs are terrible developers looking to rip up the hippie eco-wolf's valley. And that makes him want to, like, huff and puff, man and blow their house down. Eco-Wolfs dialouge reminded me of Mr Garrison on South Park! A fun diversion.
The kids and I enjoyed this version of the 3 little pigs--and I especially had fun doing the mellow, hippie voice of the pig.
