On Werewolf spree :)
Ok when i ended the book..the only thought i was having was 'When the hell will i get my hands on the next book' especially with a cliff hanger like that..!

The story looked overall predictable..but i loved how it was weaved n progressed..it has it best moments...and that's what made me interesting..

Ty and Mac aww...i could on n on about them..their friendship, their love, their trusts and insecurities but still the desire to protect eachother no matter what.

I thought Mac was re...more

What a fabulous book! I read it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.

Mystery books always amuse me because as much as I think I know who the culprit is, I'm always wrong! Perhaps I'm just bad at guessing? Either way, the mystery over who killed Makenna's classmate kept me guessing until the very end. It was set up so well that I suspected pretty much everyone. Well...obviously I was wrong so I guess I didn't suspect everyone, just most peop...more

First, this story ends in a cliffhanger. Second, I thought the prose and storytelling was engaging but quite unpolished. Third, the female protag is pretty unlikeable. She is in high school. She's cut off friendships with the less cool kids and hangs with a pretty cruel bunch of kids and to some extent even participates (at least in the past) with the mockery of less cool kids. She blackmails another guy who has had a rough life into getting something for her. She implies that she'll spread rumo...more

By The Pale Moonlight is a little difficult for me to review. The plot and most of the characters were very interesting and fun to read about, but there were moments that Makenna just frustrated me to no end. She was at times very shallow, to the point that she did things because she didn't want her 'friends' to think badly of her(mostly in the begining and in flashbacks). Of course, her 'friends' were way more shallow than Makenna, but she never spoke up about it and basically let them terroriz...more

Wow. This book totally surprised me! I read a good review before I started this one, but seeing for myself was definitely the best idea I've had in a while. It starts off with small hints, a hot boy, and a girl with a boy problem. Makenna is strong, smart, and scared, but she makes it work. She has a past that we learn about little by little, and things start to change for her - and not all in a good way. A girl is killed the night Mac is attacked by.. something. She's deter...more

This book really brought up some mixed feelings. I definitely wanted to love this, since I fell in love with both the cover and synopsis. And like in any book, there were lots of pros and cons.
Pros, like I mentioned, awesome cover and synopsis. But cons won the race this time. Because in order for me to enjoy this the book there should be some serious editing done.

First of all, it was really hard to keep up with the story...more

Makenna and Ty have been friends for as long as they can remember. This is the pure and honesty friendship where no matter what that one person will come to your rescue. Although, as young adult the lines have become slight obscure. When the two began dating it caused some rifts in the waves; although, when it really matters their bond is still impenetrable. When a girl is found mulled and murdered on the school property is sends a shock wave through the community. Especially in Mackenna, as she...more

I received this book free as part of the goodreads First Read program.

I'm very pleased that I received this book as I will read the story again and am eagerly awaiting the sequels. I thought this was well written, with good pace and description (but also space for you to use your imagination). Certain scenes sent chills down my spine, I also thought the Author captured the cruelty of teenagers fantastically. This story drew me into it and made me feel I knew the characters and made you root for...more

I LOVED this book! The ending was such a cliffhanger, i can not wait for the sequel.

It has a great storyline, a girl (MaKenna) and boy (Ty) who have been friends forever, start trying to figure out who turned Ty into a werewolf and killed one of their friends. And in the process fall in love. But it's not a gushy love story, it sticks to the story and keeps you in suspense the whole way through the book.
I sort of wondered if it was Melanie who was doing the killings but then nothing really poin...more

OK, I HATE cliffhangers, and this was a doozy... It was hard to understand how crappy Mac was in the beginning....I mean, I love seeing characters grow, but she really was dislikable at the beginning. Not the first character like this I've run across, and in the end I liked her growth enough to let it go....but it really does get hard to sympathize with characters like that.

Now Ty...yeah, that was yummy. Good chemistry between the two. Only had a half a second where I contemplated the actual end...more

Honestly I did like the story through and through. Only thing is that if a sequel doesn't come out soon I will probably tear my hair out. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes werewolf books.

I received this book as a giveaway from the author (a signed copy too :)) and from the minute I picked it up I could not put it down, I found myself grabbing it and taking it with me everywhere so if I found I had a spare five minutes I could read some more.

It was incredibily well written! The twists and turns kept me coming back for more, I am counting down the days until the second book is released!

BY THE PALE MOONLIGHT is Jennifer Hendren's debut novel. She's currently hard at work on the second book of the Moonlight series, WALKING IN SHADOW. Chances are, she's drinking too much coffee and begging her dogs to go outside and play. (But that's only a guess.)
