I reviewed this collection of short stories a while back on my website, but for some reason never added it to my Goodreads!
I liked that almost every main character had some sort of problem that all kids have, and that they resolved those problems after overcoming things so fantastical, the adults in their lives wouldn’t believe them if they hadn’t been there, too. These kids rolled with the punches and took things into their own hands when the grownups were too scared to move. These kids were un

This was a really cute selection of short stories for middle grade readers, focussing on the supernatural, featuring such creatures as zombie girls, sushi monsters, photos that come to life and cats that guard children's dreams.

Kenyon clearly has a lot of imagination and this comes through in her writing as the kids in her stories find themselves in some crazy and strange situations. The kids are always the one's to take action and save the day, which, again, will appeal to kids.

De has been one of my favourite authors for a while. Her combination of short and incredibly fun to read horror stories are some of the best work I have read for a while. With Tales Told Under The Covers De combined a number of her short stories into one volume. How much more perfect could it be?...

I'd like to thank De Kenyon for sending me a signed copy of her book. It was fantastic and funny. But definitely for a younger audience rather than myself. But it did bring back a lot of memories of my childhood and the stories it was filled with. Thinking of them I kind of wished I had heard some of the stories in this book as a young child. These stories are definitively perfect for a kid who loves weird and strange things.

De Kenyon likes to cook and eat weird food that tastes good but grosses people out when they find out what’s in it, like chocolate truffles with fish sauce, fish heads, and tongue sandwiches. Her next gross-food project is going to be finding a tasty way to cook brains, which she will then feed to her daughter, aged ten.

She does karate with her daughter now, just in case zombies attack or her daug...more
