I am a huge fan of Angela Carlie's writing & this book did not disappoint. I enjoyed getting to see Jess's point of view through the events of the story which was first told from Lora's point of view. Jess's family is fascinating, including those who are not related by blood but by other bonds. The history of how they came to be immortal, the process they must follow, was intriguing and I sort of wished there was a little more history there.

Without fail, Angela has created fully realized cha...more

I haven't read many paranormal books about shifters or immortals so I was interested to see what it would be like.

I thought this book had a lot of good elements but there were some parts I wasn't too keen on. Some of the characters rubbed me up the wrong way but it was very interesting and some of the different plot twists were great!

Spiders are definitely not my favourite creatures and reading about their creepy-crawliness is not usually someth...more

Poor Jess, if only she would listen for once, she would know what was going on.
Jess is a typical 17 year old girl, at least she is until she completes the ceremony that will grant her eteranal life. Spending summer holidays with her grandma Jess in introdcuced to three girls, that just happen to be spider-shifters. Throughout the story we are given snippets of a larger story going on though seeing it all through Jess's eyes we don't see too much seeing as she is oblivious to anything else but h...more

Spider Wars is a gripping story that had me laughing and on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next.

You don't need to read the first Lord of The Shifters novel to read this one, but after reading this story you won't be able to get enough of Angela Carlie!

Spider Wars (Lords of Shifters) - Okay so anyone that knows me knows spiders are not my thing, anyway with that said if you can overlook all the spiders this is a great paranormal read. Loved the characters and can not wait to read the next one. Thank you Angela for a great read.

Better Than the first! Spider Wars had me reading late into the night. Carlie's writing has always been strong but the horror elements in this book, while appropriate for a YA audience, are superb, thrilling and chilling. The character of Jess is loaded with attitude and meets each challenge with witty dialogue and flying fists. There's enough romance and fantasy to satisfy fans of both genres, but it's the cross-genre plot that really makes this one shine. Highly Recommended.
