Stella’s the lead singer and lead guitarist of the Blue Moon Gypsies and Stella used to be Mace’s girl. Mace broke up with her though and the loss of him rocked her world. But Stella gets a call, late at night (again) from one of the members of her crazy band. She has to go play clean up (again) and runs into Mace (and a shed load of police) and ends up getting shot.

Here it is, short and sweet:

Rock Chick Reckoning is the sixth book in the Rock Chick series, and even though it isn't a favorite, it's still such an awesome story… but then again, it’s a Kristen Ashley book, so how could it be anything but?

Mace and Stella are fantastic characters whose relationship really is the driving force behind this particular story. While the plot is exciting and we get to see all the Rock Chicks and their Hot Bunch men in rare form indeed, it was Mace and Stella’s page ti...more

Oh Lordy be! I'm still wiping away my happy tears as I write this... This probably is the darkest and emotionally deepest of the Rock Chick books but it also had some of the happiest and most beautiful moments of the series as well as an INCREDIBLE epilogue!

Kai "Mace" Mason. The insanely hot, dark, broody and emotionally broken member of Nightingale Investigations. From the beginning of the series, we've always known that Mace's back story was going to be tragic and heart breaking. Whatever co...more

This has got to be the darkest and most gripping but Intense Rockchick book upto now!!

Stella is the lead guitarist of 'her' band(the Blue Moon Gypsies). She used to be with Mace but he broke up with her and a year later Stella is still holding onto her broken heart, but when she gets a call in the middle of the night 'Again'to sort out some trouble from her band which she alway seems to have to clean up, she runs into Mace with a load of police, PI's and ends up getting shot... Indy, redheaded, blue-eyed and built; Ally, dark-haired, brown eyed and slim; Jet honey blonde, green eyed and pretty; Roxie, also blonde but darker, blue-eyed and seriously stylish; Ava, another blonde, totally knockout, bombshell gorgeous with light brown eyes and Jules movie star glamour. These weren’t exactly your average women.
Hells yeah you got that Right Stella! They aren’t your average women they are the “Rock Chicks!”

3 1/2 to 4 stars

I enjoyed this book for the most part. Rock Chick Reckoning definitely has a darker, grittier, and more intense feel to it, which I prefer to the early Kristen Ashley Rock Chick books.

There are two elements about this book I find very odd:

1. Kristen Ashley includes an end of series epilogue in this particular book. Why, when there are still two books left in the series?

2. Unbeknownst to the reader, the author has very cleverly interwoven the involvement of a side character throug...more

I absolutely adore this series! I could easily name seven hundred and twenty five thousand things that I adore about this series, but that will take too long, so I’ll just talk about book 6 – Mace and Stella.

God, I love Mace!! I never really got much of a feel for him in the earlier books of the series, apart from a brief (and very interesting) appearance in book 2 Rock Chick Rescue, then again at the end of book 5 Rock Chick Revenge, where he was discovered sharing an intensely smouldering eye...more

"The worst part of breaking up with you was you lettin' me walk away. It was so good between us, I didn't think in a million fuckin' years you'd let me walk away."

Let me just start by saying I am so sad I'm getting close to the end of this series. I still have two books left but I have come to love this characters so much, I will miss spending time with them in Fortnum's sipping coffee and gossiping. These characters have truely touched my hear...more

love the book with all its status updates and different POV...

stella and mace ,yeah, there an ah-mazing couple...and yeah i know many found stella to be ah-mazingly annoying in this book...but honestly ? it was mace that i wanted to murder over-and-over from the very begging....

for some reason i found him to be the most difficult 'HOT GUY' pursuer amongst the whole nightingale bunch....

Hands down my favorite Rock Chick book. Mace and Stella are beyond cute and their love and journey was beautiful and healing to read.

“Then what’s important?” “Keepin’ you alive. Workin’ out our shit. Movin’ on together. That’s what’s important.”

You can't have a Rock Chick book without some kick ass rock and roll. Kristen Ashley was able to blend music into this book like nothing I have ever read before. I even cried to Blink 182's 'All the Small Things," never thought that would happen.

5 Stars!! This book ROCKED!!
I know I’m in the minority amongst my GR friends, but this book was damn near perfect for me, and IMO, the best so far in the RC series. I loved “seven hundred and twenty-five thousand things” about it, but I especially enjoyed that Mace and Stella had history. They were an item at one time and I was fascinated by this, finding out what tore them apart, watching them mend, building on what they had and moving forward! They were BOTH stubborn, and I know, I know some...more

The Rock Chick books are what I turn to when I want some fun with a hot alpha male. This book delivered exactly what I was expecting, but surprisingly with more emotion. When I first started, I was getting strange looks from the children of the house because I was laughing out loud at some scenes. Before I was finished, the same children were asking me if I was ok because I was crying. I adore books that can make me feel so much.
Being a music fan myself, I enjoyed the fact that Stella was a sing...more

Rock Chick Reckoning is the sixth addition to the Rock Chick series by Kristen Ashley. Stella Gunn is the lead singer for the band Blue Moon Gypsies. Once upon a time she and Mace had something going but Mace dumped her. Well, now he's back and in full blown protector mode. Some bad dude criminal is after the rock chicks and, although Stella is no longer dating Mace, she is targeted too.

More wonderful characters mainly in the form of the band and lots of visitation with the rest of the gang. I...more

I went into Rock Chick Reckoning with low expectations due to some of the reviews out there. Frankly, I should have just trusted my gut which tells me KA is flat out awesome shit and all her books are addicting and just plain great. Right, now... moving on.

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY

The Good

1. Kai “Mace” Mason. Yes, he was messed up. Yes, he made mistakes with Stella. HOWEVER, he is KAI “FREAKIN” MASON . We forgive him and move on. Oh, and we focus on his alpha-maleness and his hotness.

2. Ste...more

These books are just so fun! I don't care that they are repetitive and predictable. I LOVE these characters!

So, you think that the previous 5 books would have made me immune to the Hot Bunch eye crinkles, chuckles, softening eyes and determined looks where the girls KNEW they were going to cave no matter HOW MUCH they didn't wantwanted to? ? Nope. I was just as melty with Mace as all the other Denver men. Add some serious angst to the picture, and this book was ripe with new Rock Chick material.

All the players are back in this book, along with the obligatory new characters that have turned the Denver...more

Ok I just finished this book, Oh my god!!!! I know I sound like a broken record, but I love these Rock Chick books, they suck me in every time. And I loved loved loved Mace and Stella. I loved how Mace never gave up and kept working on Stella, and then Stella starting giving right back to help Mace deal with his horrible past. And I liked how you got to read about the other Rock Chicks and Hot Bunch couples.

And I loved the Epilogue......it was hard to read because my eyes were wet and fuzzy from...more

So this installment of Rock Chick is my least favorite so far. What sucks is that it's not because of Mace, if anything Mace saved it for me.

Stella, she was just...ugh. I wrote this note on my kindle "I do not like Stella. She's an idiot and can never seem to speak up for herself when others are making decisions and talking over her, but she can act like a grade A asshole towards Mace at any given opportunity." I understood that Mace had broken her heart previously, but she would just take thin...more

This book was good but the epilogue was confusing to me... I am guessing KA planned for this to be the last book in the series but later down the line decided to pick up again. I wish I didn't know what I know now from the epilogue and am going to try and forget the info as I head into book 7.

Taking KA's suggestion and listening to the music mentioned in the book really brought the book up a level. I suggest to anyone who reads the series to listen to a song when she mentions it, the significanc...more

What an emotional Rock Chick book. Mace and Stella were so broken and Mace did something no other hot bunch did, he broke up with Stella. That's what made Mace special he had to learn to treat Stella with care. This was an emotional ride and we got many updates on our other rock chick/hot bunch couples throughout. I loved Mace even though he was a little rough around the edges but he was learning and when he danced with Stella at Indy's wedding, I teared up. Stella, oh how she broke my heart wit...more

I'm a little unsure about the epilogue. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but I would rather that have been at the end of the last book in the series not this one. It kinda takes the fun out of reading the other books in the series when we already have the '5 years later' bit on all the characters, even the ones that haven't had stories yet.

Ah well, still another great story in the Rock Chicks series. Mace came close to bumping out Vance as my fav guy from the Hot Bunch but Vance is still holding...more

I read Rock Chick book 1 & 2. I LOVED LOVED LOVED book 1. I feel in love with Indy and Lee and the gang so I read book 2 and hated it.... I tried to read book 3 and gave up so I found out the BIG WEDDING with Lee and Indy is in this book and decided to pay the $5 to read about the wedding. I bought the book, looked for the wedding, read the chapter (its at the 87% mark if anyone else is curious) and read it. Again I left disappointed. I wante...more

Reckoning is Stella and Mace's story. Stella is the leader of a rock band in their hometown. While Mace is one of the private investigators in Nightingale Investigations. Stella is fiery, she's stubborn (-________-) and I gotta say somewhat wishy-washy. There were moments (and I mean MOMENTS!) were I was like "REALLY, STELLA PLEASE PROCEED TO GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOU ASS AND OPEN YOUR EYES!"...and then there were moments where I was like "Oh, okay okay. You alright." Because of her, I didn't enj...more

Ok. This book- Stella specifically, drove me crazy at first. Once Stella got her head out of her ass...it hummed right along. I love Mace and I really loved that Stella had his back. He was the one who needed some rescuing! I also enjoyed all of the different Rock Chick/Hot Bunch perspectives. It was great to see their stories move along and witness their life changes. The epilogue was EPIC. Stella and Mace in the epilogue...so good.

Oh and Stella needs to add Sugarland's "What I'd Give" to her "...more

I Absolutely Ate, Breathed and Lived this book! The epilogue threw me a bit but NO Body does endings like Mrs Ashley!!! I'm overjoyed with this series! I'm also getting nervous to know my affair with the hot bunch and Rick chicks are coming closer to an end... But you know what they say " all good things come to an end" however, fortunately for us KA is hard at work making new hot honey bunches! I am captivated by her characters every time I read one of her books. 5 solid stars I LOVED IT!!!!! Ah...more

Ok this is my favorite of the Rock Chicks along with Luke's story. I think I like this one better than Luke. There is just something about a story that is darker yet has the funny and the sweet and heart wrenching love.

Now this does have mention of and aftermath of rape so if that is a trigger for you don't read. This has to be one of the more gritty rape scenes I have read while not the actual rape I still felt it gut wrenching especially the emotional turmoil that Sadie and Hector had to go t...more

This story from the Rock Chick series is different from all the others. Stella and Mace had a lot more angst than the other characters coupling because of their tormented past between each other and their past in general. Because of this angst, it was harder for me to connect with their love in the beginning. I felt their lust for each other, I felt their want for each other but when the moment hit when their love for each other was exposed, oh my! To see hard, demon filled Mace finally let his...more

Once again, Kristen Ashley has worked her magic. This series just gets better and better. I really enjoyed Mace and Stella. Both so wounded, making mistakes, but in the end the only two that could heal one another!

And once again the supporting cast kept me in laughs and tears. I was so glad we got to see Indy and Lee get married!

I liked the Kevster ties in from Mountain Man too.

Now, the epilogue.......puzzling, just a bit. I loved the updates, don't get me wrong. But, to me it seemed like one th...more

Up until now this is my favorite Rock Chick book! Once again Kristen Ashley has proven why she is a superb author.

The hero, Mace, is divine(inside and out)! He's the perfect balance of sweet and dominate...and did I mention that he's H-O-T! Stella is the lead guitarist and singer of Blue Moon Gypsies, and the band-appointed mother hen/anchor (I was laughing out loud while the band members drove Stella crazy).

Mace has an unimaginable tragic past due to his father's ultimate betrayal; wealth ove...more

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends a...more
