I checked this out for my struggling reader. He loves Reading Rainbow and he loves funny books. He was more than willing to read this with me and chose it several times for silent reading. Overall I liked it. I think most of these stories are excerpts from larger books and it might be better to just get the original. He struggled with some of the vocab, but that's what struggling readers do. It held his interest enough to want to keep at it. Score. I think we'll probably check out some of the bo...more

James Edward Marshall (October 10, 1942 – October 13, 1992), who also wrote as Edward Marshall, was a children's author and illustrator.
