I was glad to see several titles by one of my favorite writers appear as Barnes & Noble ebooks. This is a short story about Akitada's start as a detective. Akitada has no physical or personality defects that hold him back. His "flaw" is being a poor Junior official without powerful contacts in the rigid buracracy of 11th Century Japan.

Set in 11th century Japan. The short story tells a gentle tale of a young, murdered girl and the man who was trying to solve the mystery.
