Lucky in Love is the fourth book in the Lucky Harbor series and another funny, romantic, steamy story. Ty Garrison is a great alpha male – sexy, troubled, strong yet vulnerable – my idea of the perfect hero. Mallory Quinn is a wonderful heroine – compassionate, independent, smart… and she too is troubled and vulnerable. I enjoyed the way their relationship developed, the way they had each other’s backs, unconditionally, regardless of the situation. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts and their romance… not easily earned, but well deserved.

The bottom line: There are so many things to love about Jill Shalvis' stories, but what I’ve come to appreciate most is that, without fail, I can count on her to deliver something unique, something special. How she delivers it is the true magic of her writing, but the fact that she does so, again and again, is what keeps me coming back for more.

★★★★½ (This is a review of the audiobook.) Young, old, male, female, Suehyla El Attar does a great job delivering the variety of voices in the fourth installation of this series. She also balances Ms. Shalvis’ unique ability to be light and fluffy and still deal with heavy topics.

Mallory is a Lucky Harbor native. This good-girl is an ER nurse who puts everyone on the list ahead of her. She spends her time taking care of anyone who needs her help. Mallory really is the town sweetheart, but when Ty literally falls at her feet, she decides she's willing to put her good-girl status on hold for some decidedly bad-girl fun with the guy Lucky Harbor's gossip circle has dubbed: Mysterious Cute Guy. Mallory's too much of a caretaker, though, and she recognizes someone in need of saving. She really has the purest of hearts, but she's tough, too.

Ty...gawd, Jill really outdid herself with his character. Former Navy SEAL, Ty, is dealing with a four year-old nightmare he can't shake. He doesn't form attachments--any--but, before he can blink, Mallory turns into way more than anything he's ever had. ALL of Lucky Harbor becomes special to him, but Ty is determined not to stay. He's recuperating and as soon as Dr. Josh Scott gives him his travelling orders, he's gone. Ty is so far in denial it could be his middle name. He likes the town and its nosy people. He swims, runs, beats up Matt at the gym, spends time rebuilding as classic Shelby Mustang, and every chance he gets, Ty shows Mallory what it's like to walk on the wild side. He's delicious. He's a healer who cares deeply. In a nutshell, he's Mallory's perfect match. They're honest with each other from the get-go and the way they navigate their relationship is wonderful.

SO GOOD! Now, Amy and Matt's story is up next and, thankfully, I started late on this series so it's already out for me to inhale, lol! All the teasing little glimpses of them have me excited to see how Matt gets his girl. (less)

I think I liked this one better than the first 3 books. The story was a little meatier, and the setting is more involved with the town this time instead of being confined so much to the B & B as the others were.

Jill Shalvis' Lucky Harbor series continues with three books for 2012. Lucky in Love focuses on Mallory, a nurse who lives her life to help others and Ty, a former Navy SEAL who is in Lucky Harbor to recuperate from an injury.

There are no surprises in this book. Jill Shalvis knows her readers, she knows what we want and that's what she gives us. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. A great book for a rainy night in front of the fire. I have the rain, I just need the fire.

Ah, welcome back to Lucky Harbor. I have to say how much I enjoy Jill’s writing. It’s fresh, it’s fun and it’s just the perfect read to lift your spirits and make you smile.

This time when Shalvis returns to Lucky Harbor, readers finally get to discover the man behind the moniker Mysterious Cute Guy. As a walk on character that caught reader’s interests, Shalvis did a great job of creating a persona that was larger than life and certainly...larger than what the small town of Lucky Harbor was used to. Ty Garrison is taking some time off to heal old wounds, both physical and the emotional. After losing his team in a plane crash, the usually tough as stone military man is now off kilter. He is plagued with nightmares and often keeps to himself. He doesn’t make an effort to fit into the friendly town of Lucky Harbor, hence everyone’s avid interest in the man who remains a mystery.

Mallory Quinn and Ty Garrison could not be any more different than each other. Mallory is a nurse, someone kind-hearted and helpful while Ty likes his solitary. However, when a freak storm caused by Mother Nature brings them together, sparks fly and the chemistry sizzles. Mallory and Ty were a great fit and while both were initially hesitant about their relationship, it is clear from the beginning that they belong together.

Recently, I have noticed the increase in sexiness in Shalvis’s book and I am NOT complaining! Mallory and Ty get freaky in this one and I have to say, I enjoyed it immensely. For once in Mallory’s straight arrow life, she is taking the wheel and doing something she has always wanted to do. Ty and Mallory’s relationship was supposed to be just a walk on the wild side. A one time thing. Instead, it became something unnerving. Something unexpected and both are really thrown by this because neither expected it to become something more than just sex. Somehow Mr. Wrong turned into Mr. Right.

I was really impressed by Shalvis’s ability to make me love these new characters when I so desperately loved the previous characters of this series too. The scene that stands out for me is in the beginning during the storm where Mallory, Amy and Grace are scared like rabbits in the darkened Eat Me diner. Mother Nature and chocolate cake bring them together and I thought that Shalvis did a fantastic job of creating a strong bond between three new characters quickly. It set up the next books in the series well and forged a bond that makes me love this book even more. For readers hoping to get a glimpse of the past characters, there is some mention of Jax and a couple good scenes with my personal favorite hero, Sawyer. But hopefully there will be more walk on scenes with the others in the next few books.

Speaking of the next book, Matt Bowers, sexy forest ranger and Amy have their story set up well in this one. There is some sparks, some sexual tension and already I can see some of Matt’s possessive side. Me likey. Overall, I enjoyed this book immensely. Like a fat kid who loves cake, I devoured this book in one afternoon. But when something is this good, I’m bound to devour it quickly. I’m already looking for seconds. More please?

We’re back in Lucky Harbor, this time following three women, all friends, who bond and meet over chocolate. Not a bad way to handle things, at all. She’s the “sane” member of her family, helping to keep things going and keep the peace between her mother and her two siblings. Mallory is a person who wants to help everyone. She takes groceries and checks in on the elderly, she’s actively involved in every fundraiser in Lucky Harbor but she’s unlucky in love. After being dumped by a couple of guys that she thought were Mr. Right’s, she and her friends decide that maybe giving Mr. Wrong a try wouldn’t be so bad. Mallory could let her good girl guard down, at least for one night and have some fun for a change. Mr. Wrong just happens to crash one of the girls’ earliest meetings, the night they all met in fact, when he passes out at the door of the local diner.

Mysterious Cute Guy! We got a few mentions of him in the prior Lucky Harbor books, but now he has a name, Ty Garrison. He keeps to himself, keeps everyone away and is just biding his time for his leg to recover enough so he can get back out in the field and resume his military career. He’s also dealing with a tragic past where he lost his best friends during a mission and plane crash. He was the only survivor and it haunts him that as a paramedic, he couldn’t save his friends from the injuries they suffered. As a result, he doesn’t let anyone get close to him. Everyone he’s loved has died and it’s just easier for him to wall people off, less painful that way. But what should have only been one night with Mallory, turns into much more, whether he wants it to happen or not.

Ty slid her a look. “You have a bit of a mean streak.”

She laughed. It was true, even if not a single soul in Lucky Harbor would believe it. She had no idea what it said about her that Ty, a perfect stranger, saw more of her than anyone who actually knew her.

At her smile, Ty leaned close, his gaze dropping from her eyes to her mouth. “I like a woman with a mean streak.”

I really enjoyed Mallory and Ty’s relationship. It’s sexy and hot and they help each other deal with painful pasts that have made them into the people they are today; people that they don’t necessarily want to be anymore. I liked seeing them influence each other for the better. Mallory made Ty really look at his life and what he wanted from it. She gave him a reason to start to live again, and think about life beyond just his job. Mallory was the most enjoyable character for me to get to know. She’s such a caring person that to see someone like Ty step in and take care of her for a change, it made me happy for her. Even though she will never stop helping people, Ty and her friends get her to slow down and start standing up for herself and voicing her opinions more. Mallory ended up being a really easy character to root for, and her relationship with Ty was great to see grow.

What I always enjoy about the Lucky Harbor books is the build-up and introduction to the next romance coming up: Matt, the park Ranger and Amy, the waitress at the diner. There’s some friction between these two, it seems to come mostly from Amy and I already can’t wait to see how Matt gets her to open up. Grace and Dr. Josh Scott will lead the final book. Grace is new in town and while we don’t really know much about her other than she’s currently job hunting, she is down on her luck. We get a very quick description of Josh and not only is he juggling his exhausting job, but he’s caring for his son and his handicapped sister at home. Even though that’s all we really know about Josh at this point, I’m half way in love with him already, just from that quick description.

The town of Lucky Harbor continues to be filled with social busy bodies, who love to get their gossip on the town Facebook page. Mallory and Cute Guy get plenty of FB wall space as their romance is detailed out for the town to see. Mallory and Ty were characters that I enjoyed getting to know individually and I loved seeing their romance develop. This was a fun story in what continues to be a charming series. (less)

As bad as Simply Irresistible.

I'm sensing A Pattern here. Every three books, there's gonna be a martyr-type, doormat heroine (Maddie and Mallory), a fun-loving, reckless heroine (Chloe and Amy), and a sweet, responsible one (Tara and Grace).

Likewise, a rough, All-American hero (Ford and Matt), a perfect guy (Jax and Ty), and a straight-and-narrow one (Sawyer and Josh).

So I'm not surprised I didn't like Lucky in Love. Hopefully Amy and Grace's books will be better, and with less unnecessary dra...more

I love this series. Each book gets better than the previous one. Mallory and Ty have some steamy love scenes. The chemistry is off the charts. I love that Ty finds himself doing little things to make Mallory happy since she is always there for everyone in the town. Though he tries to fight it, he falls hard for Mallory.

The one thing that I appreciated about Ty is that he is a flawed character. At times, he can be bossy and rough but he is still soft. He has a lot of trauma to deal with from his days as a SEAL and he holds his pain close to him. Slowly, Mallory peels back the layers to the core of who Ty really is. In return, Ty makes Mallory stronger and fiercer in my opinion. By the end of the book, the characters grow for the better.

For fans of the series, there will be glimpses of previous characters but you will fall for the new characters that are introduced. The town of Lucky Harbor is one place I wish I could visit.

I highly recommend this book for contemporary romance lovers. I’ve already pre-ordered the next two books in the series. I can’t wait to see Amy and Grace find their own HEAs.(less)

There are so many things I loved about Ty. Yes, he has a perfectly ripped muscled body and is a gorgeous male! But there is so much more. He’s tortured, alpha, ex-military and one of the sexiest heroes I’ve read. I liked how he understood Mallory and helped her to make a major change in her life. He’s always honest about their non-relationship, reminding her that he would be leaving soon. “Don’t fall for me, Mallory. That wouldn’t be good for either of us. We’re too different. Mallory Quinn has grown up in Lucky Harbor and is getting pretty tired of her “good” girl reputation. She’s a peacemaker and has spent most of her life trying to please everyone and now she’s ready to spread her wings and maybe take a walk on the wild side. As soon as she meets sexy Ty Garrison she’s ready to take the plunge. And Wow, did she ever soar as he takes her to heaven! “She’d never gone up in flames so hard and so fast in her life!”

Mallory is a compassionate and very caring person. She’s also troubled and believes she had to be good in order to be loved. She’d had her one-time fling with Ty, and now they both agree to more. It was suppose to be fun with no strings attached, but soon Mallory realizes her heart is involved. She gets that he has a job that he loves and while she’d never want to hold him back from what fueled him she finds herself desperately wanting to be what he needed, what he had to have, what he couldn’t give up or walk away from and leave behind.

Jill Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor series is one of my favorites! This is the fourth installment and I loved it! The setting is a beautiful seaside small town with a set of engaging characters that kept me invested until the very end. Jill Shalvis has once again delivered a a heartwarming, fun, sexy read that I didn’t want to put down!

My god, the previous books had been outstanding and this one was just as much if not more. JILL SHALVIS has become one of my favourite authors in the cont-romance genre, I just adore EVERYTHING she writes, and I seriously mean EVERYTHING.

The introduction of 3 amazing new Heroines...
Wow, I don't even know where to begin. Let's start by pointing that from this book onwards we get to read about some new characters, but also about some secondary characters we already loved from the previous instalments.
This second part of the series starts when 3 different women get locked in the town's diner -the Eat Me Café- because of a scary-huge storm, leaving them with zero chances of getting out time any time soon or ask for help as the power went out and no cell phones were around. So what can 3 scared-to-death women do? Well, of course talk about their whole lives and what they would like to change about them, and all while eating the best chocolate cake of their lives,lol. And that's how the Chocoholics help group was born, with weekly get-togethers from all 3 members to share their sorrows and lame moments in life.

One of the best couples I have read in a VERY LONG time...
This story was about Mallory, the town's good-girl, the one everybody knows and treasures, the one who always puts others' well being before her own. I adored this heroine, she truly was friendly, good-hearted and kind, but what made me fancy her the most was that she had a very cute brave and defiant side. It really made me laugh to see this nice and charming girl developing a cute mean-streak to defend those she cared about.
And then we had our to-dye-for sexy Hero, Ty, or should I call him Mysterious Cute Guy as everybody else in Luck Harbour called him. So much to tell about such an interesting and complex character. It was definitely fun to see him falling in love with our heroine while he couldn't even noticed it himself. I loved that, he seriously had no clue at all, he was so nice to her, the perfect gentleman, but always so sure he didn't want anything serious with ANYBODY. Military men as heroes always work for me. I know, I'm such a cliché, but there's just nothing that gets to me as a heroine helping her hero heal. He might have been Mallory's first guy on her Bad boys list but he definitely was everything she needed. They simply made such an amazing and couple, really complemented each other.

I guess it's just the way this author writes because no matter what or who she writes about I end up ADORING all her books. Can't wait for the next one, keep them coming JS.(less)

Another fantastic book!!! I can't get enough of Jill Shalvis. It was light, funny, sweet and everything in between. Mallory and Ty are amazing. If you read the previous books in the series and are a fan, or any of her other books, you will love this book just as much. If this is your first, you are in for a treat and will soon be hooked just like the rest of us.

Can be read as a stand alone since it reads almost like it's the first of a new series (since it sort of is) :) Enjoy!

Lucky Harbor…..any small town, USA and a place I would love to live myself. Oh wait….I kinda already do. I moved to a small town last year and I now know what the small town mentality is. It’s knowing what is going on everywhere in town, it’s seeing the same people day in and day out driving through town and it’s actually caring about your neighbors lives and trying to help each other out. Lucky Harbor is my town, in a way. Lucky Harbor is every town in a way. Jill Shalvis is a remarkable author. One who will make you snort with laughter and then make you cry with happiness. I have read nearly everything Jill has wrote and they all have this funny vein running through them. Her characters are real and make real mistakes.

Lucky In Love took the emotional connection to a all new level. Ty is a wounded veteran, and the depth of his injuries don’t stop at the physical damage. His soul is hurting after witnessing the deaths of his four best friends and going back to his job as a Seal Medic just isn’t in the cards. He can’t even handle a bandaid let alone patch up major injuries. Coupled with his recent leg injury at this new job that landed him with some unexpected time off and his arrival in Lucky Harbor to stay at a local rental house. Of course that means that every resident in town is out to uncover his secrets. That includes Mallory though she has her plate already brimming to the edges. Full of her own guilt for not noticing her sisters descent into depression when she was a teen, she now is obsessed with stopping it from happening to another family. She has her sights set on opening a care clinic but the local residents her meeting her with resistance.

After a chance encounter at the local diner, Ty finds himself with a date to a town fundraiser that ends with a steamy tryst in a attic. Mallory and Ty together is just hot! They feed off each others emotions so well and the way they connected so deeply was touching. Mallory manages to chip away at the wall Ty has had up since his buddies deaths. I loved the evolution of their story. How they both learned that they could be happy but only if they were truthful with themselves on what was holding them back.

Lucky In Love is an emotional read that makes you stop and think about veterans and what they may be dealing with that you can’t see on the outside. The book is also a great opening to the next two books in the series that all revolve around a diner and some wonderful cake eating ladies. The next book, At Last comes out in June and Forever And A day in July, so it’s looking like a Jill Shalvis summer at my house!! Loved Lucky In Love!

As much as I loved Ty, what really sold me on this book was Mallory. She was such a well-rounded character--smart, brave, honest, and loyal to a fault, yet naïve, klutzy, and utterly exhausted from holding it together all the time. She was someone you could easily root for; someone who truly deserved a happily-ever-after.

My wish list of things that would have made this book pure perfection: I wished we would have gotten more face time with the Chocoholics, more back story or actual conversation between Ty and Frances, more time convincing me Mallory's siblings were truly wild and crazy, and I kept wanting/expecting to see Ty and Mallory working side-by-side in a trauma situation.

Still, LUCKY IN LOVE is my favorite Lucky Harbor book to date, because it showcased what I think I love most about this series: The quirky, quaint, small town of Lucky Harbor itself. I'm so glad there are two more books coming this summer. I'm definitely not ready to leave the little beach town behind yet.

It’s Mallory’s turn to star in this book. Mallory is an ER nurse at the hospital in Lucky Harbor. Her mother is also a nurse there, and her sister works in housekeeping. Mallory tries to be her family’s rock. Her other sister died years ago and Mallory has much guilt over it. Her living sister and her brother are very wild and Mallory feels a lot of stress that their lives could spiral out of control. So Mallory always lives a very responsible life never to disappoint anyone. When a freak snow storm hits Lucky Harbor while she is at the diner with her girlfriends, she meets a new man. Well, not really a new man. He is known by the town as “Mysterious Cute Guy,” (on the town’s facebook page) and lands at the step of the diner, with a concussion from a fallen tree during this very dangerous storm. As Mallory is a nurse, she runs to his aid. Dazed and confused, Mysterious Cute Guy is a little out of it. As the girlfriends were just discussing how Mallory doesn’t have a date to a benefit dinner, Amy, using her “bad girl” skills, tells Mysterious Cute Guy that since Mallory saved him during this storm, he is going to be her date. Mallory doesn’t think he will remember saying yes as he is carted away in an ambulance.

A few days later, Mallory is at the fundraiser, with a few jitters that Mysterious Cute Guy just might show up. Embarrassed to not even know his name, she turns around and there he is.

Ty Garrison is no longer a Navy SEAL medic. After losing his team/four closest friends in an accident overseas, unable to save them, he still has not healed emotionally from that. He quit the SEALs and has started doing missions for a private contractor. But he has injured his leg, and needs a lot of rehabilitation. His friend Matt, who lives in Lucky Harbor encouraged him to rent a house in the small town until he was done his rehabilitation. Ty never smiles and is convinced he will never get over the death of his four friends. He spends his spare time working on classic cars and keeping away from everyone. But, even though his memory of the freak snow storm night is blurry, he can’t forget Mallory’s warm eyes and soft care of him. So that is how he finds himself at the fundraiser, with all eyes on him.

I’m really happy Jill Shalvis is introducing us to three new couples in the fun town of Lucky Harbor. This series is really sexy and funny and I always recommend it to people looking for great contemporary romances. While I did like this book, it didn’t quite capture me like the previous books did. I think part of it is being introduced to new characters and having to learn all of their personalities. I also think while Mallory and Ty have a very sexy relationship, it felt a little too formulaic. Ty doesn’t want a relationship, and has bad nightmares from his time overseas. Mallory says she doesn’t want a relationship, but after having sex, wants more. They come together because they are so attracted to each other, then push each other away. Then come together again. It was kind of the same thing throughout the whole book and it just felt like something was missing. It just didn’t quite have that same spark as previous relationships in this series.

But I did still enjoy it. There are some very sexy scenes in this one and I love this town and the crazy elderly people who rule the gossip with their facebook page. I can’t get enough of Lucille and her funny antics. As she gets in front of the town to help defend Mallory and her new clinic:

Lucille was so short that the microphone was about a foot above her head. This didn’t stop her. “A Health Services Clinic would be nice,” she said, head tipped up toward the microphone, her blue bun all aquiver. “Because then, if I thought I had the clap, I’d have a place to go.”

The audience erupted in laughter.

“What?” she said. “You think I’m not getting any?” She turned and winked at Mr. Murdock in the third row.

And we get set up for the next book with Amy and her very mysterious relationship with the Forest Ranger Matt. I can’t wait to find out what secrets they are hiding.

This is the first of the next trilogy sets in Lucky Harbor, Washington, featuring the friends (instead of three half-sister, like in the first three books). Unfortunately, this book doesn't capture me as much as the previous three. I agree with one of the reviewers who feel the same way that I do. It has something with relearning the new players and the romance being a bit too formulaic.

In addition, I actually think that Mallory lacks of jazz. Yes, she's the good girl. Yes, everybody loves her. But even if she ends up showing some back-bone in the end, I think she's a bit dull. I would prefer for her to show the back-bone by also fighting for Ty's love.

Mallory realizes that she loves Ty, but keeps saying that Ty is Mr. Wrong, so she is willing to let him go, because he never plans to settle in Lucky Harbor in the first place. Well, phooey! I'd say she needs to put on the Xena-stance (like her friend, Amy, has) and demands Ty that they need to find away to make this relationship works, because she believes in it. Also (view spoiler)

Ty is not winning a lot of points from me as well. I wish Ty doesn't lead Mallory on, by keeping coming back for her, especially knowing that he doesn't plan on staying on Lucky Harbor. For what? To prove that he can be Mr. Wrong?

The push-and-pull thing is a bit too formulaic for me, and I guess by the end, I'm not too in love with the idea of them being in love.

So, this is the least favorite story in Lucky Harbor series for me so far. I do like the antics of Lucky Harbor townspeople (if only their Facebook account is real, I'd love to read the statuses!).

AAAND, because other characters have been introduced, I definitely cannot wait to read Amy and Matt (the ranger) story next. What's up with the thick atmosphere, you two?!?(less)

This is the fourth book in this series. The first three were focused on three sisters who come to Lucky Harbor due to their mother’s passing and shared inheritance of a house there, which they decide to turn into a bed and breakfast. I really liked the first three books of this series and was so happy when Jill continued it with a new group of three women to focus on. Mallory, Amy and Grace come together to talk about their relationship and personal problems, while trying to dole out advice for each other, over the single best unifier in the world — chocolate.

This book focuses on Mallory and the Mysterious Cute Guy (as tagged on Lucky Harbor’s Facebook page). Both are characters seen in Head Over Heels. I was looking forward to this book because one, I’d finally get a name for Mysterious Cute Guy, and two, I wasn’t quite ready to give up Lucky Harbor and whatever glimpses we got of Maddie, Tara and Chloe and their beaus. (Yes, I just wrote beaus. I’m not sure why. It’s a weird word, right? I promise never to use it again.)

Anyway, Mallory is the quintessential good girl. While her siblings were out, going crazy and being rebellious, Mallory was the one who minded her manners and tried to appease everyone. When she meets Ty, i.e. Mysterious Cute Guy, she decides ‘what the hell?’ and decides to do one bad thing… or rather, one bad boy.

Not that I blame her. Ty is megahot. I hate to say this, but he became my second favorite guy in Lucky Harbor, scooting Sawyer down to third place. Jax is still my number one favorite, but Ty comes close. He’s damaged (why is that always hot?), and definitely not staying in Lucky Harbor any longer than he has to. Basically, he’s the worst Mr Wrong there is. But uuuuuunnnnnngggggg, he’s hot. Maybe it’s the scars? Or the way he reacts to Mallory? Likely it’s a combination of all of it.

Over the course of the book, we learn more about Mallory’s and Ty’s lives. Ty loses his ‘mysterious’ moniker and then it’s just ‘awwwwwwww’ between them. Also, several hot sexy times scattered throughout. Jill Shalvis writes good sexy times. The one where they’re in the storage space was… yeah. It was good.

If you’ve read anything of Jill Shalvis before, you know what you’re in for so I don’t know why you’re not already reading this book. If you haven’t, I recommend starting with Simply Irresistible, the first in the Lucky Harbor series.(less)

LOVED LOVED LOVED Lucky in Love!

I totally fell in love with the first three books of the Lucky Harbor series. In fact, I rated them the "Best Series" on my 2011 Best Of recap. I wasn't nervous about the next books in the series coming out per say; it's just that I absolutely loved Simply Irresistible, The Sweetest Thing and Head Over Heels so much that I was wondering just how on Earth Jill Shalvis could match the love I felt for those books. Well she did. Lucky in Love is a witty, smart and a spectacularly enjoyable read.

Mallory is adorable. She is someone you'd want as a best friend. Just being around her makes you want to be a better person. She sees the best in everyone and looks for humour to loosen tense moments. Her career as a nurse is extremely fitting to her character.

Ty is lickable & delicious and with just enough of a sad past to make him fall into the tortured hero bucket. He is not lolling around in a world of self pity though. Ty is trying to heal himself and he is just going about it wrong. He is trying to do it alone. Grief combined with a prescription drug addiction while still trying to fight off the pain of a healing traumatic leg injury needs support & love of friends and loved ones to help guide past the darkness.

Ty is drawn to Mallory and Mallory is drawn to Ty like a magnet to metal. Someone needs fixing, and Mallory is the fixer. I saw this picture below that Jill Shalvis posted on her Facebook page and it captures Mallory and Ty so vividly that feelings it gave me provided the incentive to buy the book sooner rather than later. Is it not beautifully telling?

Ty is not really a resident in Lucky Harbor. He is like a passing ship in the night. Yet for a man who is not a permanent resident, on Mallory's behalf, he sure trips himself up as he gets involved into the community. The Lucky Harbor Facebook page hasn't seen as much action since the first three couples in the series. Speaking of which, you absolutely do not have to read the first three books of this series to be caught up. Lucky in Love could very easily be a stand alone (but you'd be missing out on some wonderful books)

I loved these little bits:
"So I guess that the next time I make a date with a concussed guy, I should pin a note to his collar so he doesn't forget."

and

"Mallory, those shoes aren't meant for working on a car."
"What are they meant for?"
"Messing with a man's head."

The heat in Lucky in Love is mild and that completely suits the book's style. The build up for Ty and Mallory to realize that they have fallen in love is the center stage. I reach for this Lucky Harbor series as comfort reads. I will re-read these treasures for years.

Ty Garrison is no longer a Navy SEAL medic. After losing his team in an accident overseas, Ty still hasn't got over it. Now he does missions for a private contractor. He happens to spend his time working on classic cars and staying away from the people in Lucky Harbor. Even though he can barley remember what happened to him the night in the snow storm, he just can’t seem to forget Mallory’s warm eyes and the way she cared for him.

I was really excited when Jill announced she was writing three more books in the series. Although I did enjoy this book, it didn't keep me hooked like the first previous books. I think it had to deal with being introduced to a whole new set of characters. I was intrigued by Ty and his story more than I was as them as a couple at first, but then it all started to come together for me. I enjoyed the journey Ty and Mallory went through to realize how perfect they were for one another.

Jill tends to write some sexy scenes and this book has more than it's share. I also enjoyed the side characters that we were introduced to. Lucille was still her up to her funny antics as usual but I still couldn't get enough of her and her meddling.

The next book At Last, will be about Amy and Matt. Since they tend to stay away from each other I am more than curious to find out what will happen between the two of them.

I loved it! It was hot and funny, just the way I like it. Ty and Mallory are pure magic together and I can't wait for the next book - Amy's story.

It all started when Ty - aka cute mystery guy - bumped his head and got rescued by Mallory and her two friends. The girls got him to agree, while he had concussion, to go on a date with Mallory.

I 'literally' gobbled up this book yesterday, and when it was done I wanted more!!!

GOD! I LOVE Ms. Shalvis's 'Lucky Harbor' series, and this book did not disappoint!

Mallory and Ty...AMAZING!!

Laughed out loud so many times, and then in the next moment my heart would break for the loss they've both suffered and still were continuing to deal with.

They ended up being each others BEST therapy.

Just like the other books from the Lucky Harbor series, the story is just right. Simple but with depth, a lot of humor in between and intense chemistry between the two main protagonists and honestly, for a contemp the writing was very good.
As a reader, there are things that I always look forward to when reading a book, and one of them is the description of physical qualities of the characters, especially the leading ones. Some authors tend to forget to or doesn't put a lot of stock in that depar...more
