Sylvia Dickey Smith has mastered the art of evoking a sense of dread in her lyrical atmospheric descriptions of the mysterious bayou country. Moody atmosphere, colorful characters, good food and one heck of a strong-willed protagonist are all key ingredients for a quality Southern fiction novel. This author delivers all of these things in spades in her Sidra Smart mysteries.

Thank you Ms. Leger, for sharing this fun book with me! It was a nice read. Going off of the summary I wasn't sure about it but it proved to be a good book. I like the way Smith writes and the way Sidra thinks. Books written in the third person are usually my favorite, but this one flowed well. I especially like that it takes place in Southeast Texas. It was neat to read about Sidra going to eat at Ester's seafood restaurant and driving on roads that I drive all the time.

Dance on His Grave is Sylvia Dickey Smith's first in her Sidra Smart series. This mystery has a touch of fantasy, in that the protagonist has a sixth sense about things. This is a character-driven series with a believable and vivid setting. She captures the Orange Texas surroundings.

A good mystery book. I think the characters were well developed and the story line pretty believable except for a spot or two. I enjoyed this writer's work
