Jolyn Palliata has a very creative imagination. Her story was extremely different and clever and I simply adore reading a unique take on a romance.

Addison and Rhys both die at the same moment. Although, they are strangers and die separately, Addison comes back, however, Rhys does not. His perception of the afterlife was so frightening that he panics and his soul somehow becomes connected to Addison's. Once she returns to consciousness, an undeniable male voice is summoning her to notice him. At...more

This story is crazy! I mean come on....the girl dies on the operating table & when they bring her back the spirit of a dead rock star latch's onto her. That should totally not work...right??...right???....WRONG!
I'll be honest it took me a chapter and a bit to get past Rhys talking in Addision's head.
But once I let it go & just let myself enjoy the words & the story it happened.....I fell in love.

My Thoughts:
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Jolyn Palliata did a masterful job conveying an amazingly emotional and romantic tale. The story was well paced; the characters, Rhys and Addison, were multidimensional and interesting; the emotions were real...more

Fabulous read!!!

This book received great reviews and the price is right since it is free here on Goodreads if you click on “read” near the cover. Therefore, it meet my “top two of three reasons why I pickup a book by an upcoming author.”

Next in line #3 is the length: This is a novella, so I got a hold of the writing style right away. I didn’t feel bad putting down my current reads.

Written by my dear friend Jolyn, this is a hot, hot, hot novella about Addison and Rhys, two souls who experience death and share some intense intimacy together both in the spiritual world and the physical world. Very clever premise and a quick read. For adult readers who love an intense romance, enjoy!

LOVED this BOTM!

"I love this book!"

"Addi, was most certainly not fine with everything but willing to accept the situation even against all logic. She was smart, but not over-the-top, funny but not ridiculous and pretty enough so you dont feel no man is good enough for her. I really liked her."

"I really enjoyed the slightly sarky voice for Rhys, I think the author nailed him perfectly. If you've read Michelle Rowen's 'Demon in Me' series, I thought this had a similar feel."

Ok! This book rocked! While the pun is not intended, it fits as well because our Hero is a rock musician. Our Heroine is more difiicult to define. She is a photographer, but we get very little information about her vocation. This is most likely because this is a novella rather than a full novel. Waaaaaa. I want the full novel!

Short and simple, Addie dies during a medical procedure. While waiting in limbo to move on to the afterlife she detects another spirit waiting nearby. They meet momentarily...more

I am a sucker for a good love story and that is exactly what one gets out if this short novella.

The book is short enough that it took me about 4, maybe 5 hours total to read. Yet it is exactly the type of story I was in the mood for. A sweet, good, well written tale that had me rooting for the characters and completely interested on their story.

I like how it feels like Rhys seems to be the main character even though the story is told from Addison’s POV. The story only shifts POV whenever Rhys hi...more

Connected was a total surprise to me. I wasn't sure what I expected since with the premise the book is written off I thought it could either go very good or very bad. I am exceedingly happy to report that this book went veering off in the very good direction right away!

I loved the characters and their interactions with each other. Addison and Rhys are so fresh and interesting, while they are learning to deal with their unique situation of Rhys being a spirit trapped in Addison's body. I am not g...more

This was more of a 4.5/5 for me. It was really unique and a lot of fun. Its a interesting situation for a man to be sharing a woman's body. They could hear each other's thoughts, and only with concentration could they have any privacy. Also with concentration Rhys could hear, see, or taste what Addison heard, saw, or tasted. He could not take over her body, but when she slept, he could slip into her dreams.

A man in a woman's body can be a nightmare or a dream come true. He knew exactly how he m...more

Before I even started this book and I read the intro, this immediately and definitely reminded me of that infamous movie (one of my all-time favorites actually!), GHOST by Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze! And I was right! :)

Onto my review:
I sooo love and enjoyed every single minute of this book! and GOD did it made me cry like I've lost someone dear to me myself! The pain ...

I thought I'd updated my review, but I guess GR didn't like it.

Anyway, I'm now done with the book and have to say I really liked it. The characters and premise were interesting, and the writing really direct and enjoyable.

It's hard for PNR books to surprise me, after I've read a ton, but this had a really good twist or two that kept me guessing. I'll be coming back for more of this verse in the future.

I can't believe how much I loved this book.

A crazy plot but the story was well told. You can obviously guess the ending but it doesn't detract from the overall story.

The author did a great job with Rhys. I read his conversations with Addy & laughed & completely believed they were something a guy would say!

I really enjoyed feeling their relationship grow. Rhys's "Challenged Accepted" attitude toward Addison's date night was hysterical!

This book was funny, sexy, entertaining, and UNBEL...more

This was an amazing book! Rhys Alexander is a gutarist in a rock band, and when the band was flying to another country, the plane goes down and he is killed. Addison was in the hospital having stomach surgery and momentarilary dies. When she was "dead", Rhys clung onto her soul and when Addison was revived, he was in her head. At first she thinks she is losing her mind, but after a little convincing, she accepts that. Rhys wants her to send an e-mail to his brother and fellow band member, Xavier...more

This was a great read that tapped into all the emotions - I laughed, got angry, cried, fell in love. Just wonderful. :)

Addison dies - for a little while - and when she's brought back, she's not alone. The wise-cracking, irreverent ghost of rocker Rhys decides to tag alone.

Addison isn't too happy with her new body-mate, but after a while the irritation fades and an odd comfort takes its place. Addison and Rhys find they are more connected than either would've thought possible and this developmen...more

I have to say, I wanted to like the book, but I found the main characters flat and uninteresting, Rhys came on so strong I didn't even feel sorry for him as a ghost. I felt sorry for her being saddled with a sarcastic bastard for a voice in her head.

Over all I was unimpressed and while I will admit this is not normally my cup of tea, I have read a few PNR in the past that I liked. I had to force myself to continue it, and never really did get interested in the story. The premise itself showed p...more

Addison goes in for a somewhat normal surgery only to find out she not only died on the operating table but someone else came back with her. The problem is that she can't decide if she's crazy, possessed or if this is real.

I have to admit that I wanted to read this story after reading another of the author's books, A Modern Love Story. I knew she wouldn't be afraid to take chances and do something different and I wasn't disappointed. It just takes a bit to get there.

It took me awhile to get in...more

When I read the description for this one, I wasn't so sure about it! I ended up really, really liking it. Most of the book is about a dead man who gets inside the head of a woman who also died very briefly and yet it was a completely enthralling paranormal romance!

If you enjoyed bad boy rocker Kellan from the S.C. Stephens Thoughtless Series, you will like Rhys from Connected. Yes, there is the big issue of one being there in mind and body (Kellan) and well one being there is just mind (Rhys) bu...more

I wasn't too sure at the start if I'd like it or not but I ended up loving it. The characters are so feisty it made me laugh but then I got an overwhelming feel of dread. I couldn't see this ending happily ever after but I kept at it with an open mind. I felt sorry for Addison being stuck with a stuck up rock star who took pride in being a complete ass at the worst moments lol. It had humour, love & fear in it, all in the name of love & it just flowed so well together. Not to mention giv...more

Absolutely beautiful. This is one helluva book. Romance , drama and humor combined perfectly in a very promising plot. Simply the type of book I would read and reread in my archives and Rhys is officially listed as one of my favorite story leads.

At first I was reluctant to proceed after reading the summary. Uh, a male spirit dwelling in a complex fortress of a female mind? Yeah... that sounds interesting and difficult to narrate. I thought it would be complicated to understand the flow of the st...more

After reading Amber Eyes by the same author, I decided to give this book a try. I knew nothing other than it was a paranormal romance and dug right in. This is a novella so was a super quick read. That did not take away from its fabulousness (I know that is not a word!). I could not put my Kindle down throughout this book and ended up staying up late into the night to find out where it ended up. Addi and Rhys started out annoyed with each other. How that turned into love is beyond me because I w...more

Curses no half stars - I'd give this 4.5stars.

As photographer Addison Calomino revives from the twilight of her surgery, she realizes she isn't insane she really is hearing voices in her head. She is now sharing her body & mind with rock star Rhys Alexander who has apparently died and latched onto her instead of moving on. I honestly didn't think I would like this when I started but as I continued to read, I found the story to be an original. It was a heartbreakingly emotional & touchin...more

Addison Calamino and Rhys Alexander are two most unlikely people. She's a photographer and he's a member of the Black Codex Band. Just how did they meet, it's because they both died. Rhys's spirit is connected to Addison's spirit and body but neither is sure why. What happens between these two people is fascinating. They discover just how much they need one another. Rhys wants Addison to talk to his brother Xavier about the band. Addison resists the idea for awhile but eventually gives in to wha...more

Addison is waking up from an operation when she realises she can hear a voice in her head.

She was alone. Completely alone.
“Hello?” she whispered.
Jesus. It’s about damn time you acknowledge me. I mean, what the fuck? Are you deaf or what?

“Oh, my God. What was she thinking?! Sex - even superior mind-blowing sex - wasn't worth not being able to see again. Then again.... Rhys chuckled in her ear, his hand splayed across her belly.

Interesting train of thought. Shit, I knew I was good, but to the point of wishing you were blind? Damn, I'm a god!
