The heroine Tina is on her way to her sister's wedding with her mother and son, and she is shocked to run into Ari, the hero. Six years ago, Tina and Ari had a fling, which meant much more to Tina and she was left heartbroken when Ari ended it saying it meant nothing to him. She was also left pregnant and made the decision to raise her son Theo alone. When Ari learns about Theo he knows her wants to be a part of his son's life, and the best way is for him and Tina to be married. However, Tina re...more
Wonderful sweet quick read enjoyed it very much, adored Ari-Tina,what really made book so good was how importance of family shown,Ari is totally a family man will do anything for his family,an experience had left him cynical when it comes to Love but as stort progresses we see Ari repeated the same mistake that happened to him, once he realizes it he regrets it and does everything to win Tina back.Absolutely loved the way their relation blossoms and surpass all the hurdles and they get their HEA.

I DO NOT like the "secret baby" plot device as a general rule. Rarely was the secret a valid one kept from the father as in this case. TSTL

Anyway, the hero took it well as did his family.

What I liked about this book was that the hero admitted he messed up once he looked at things from the heroine's perspective. You almost get the sense that he wasn't entirely comfortable breaking things off the first time but he had rationalized himself into the decision. It wasn't hard to like him despite his o...more

I had just finished reading an article from a popular author bagging people who give bad reviews. Along the lines of one should only review if giving a five star rating. You have no idea how much I have had to bite my tongue in not responding as that is so "stepford" and PC to the max it is not funny. Personally, I am VERY VERY skeptical of any book that only gets 4 or 5 star ratings (especially if there are not many reviews) because let's face it "you can't please all the...more

Six years ago Tina Savalas fell in love with Greek magnate Ari Zavros. She thought it was a serious relationship, but Ari had considered it a “charming episode” and walked away. When they meet again by chance, Ari discovered that their affair had changed the course of her life and that she had given birth to his son.

Ari wants his son, and that means marrying Tina. He has to win her over again, but she’s very wary of him. Tina knows Ari’s motivation for the marriage proposal is so he can have ful...more
An Offer She Can’t Refuse is the 68th stand-alone romance novel by Australian author, Emma Darcy. This is the much-told secret baby story: innocent virgin (Tina Savalas) seduced by rich playboy (Ari Zavros), falls in love, is discarded, left pregnant (unbeknownst to Ari) with baby Theo. However, Darcy manages to give it a bit of a modern twist by setting his first re-encounter with Tina and Theo at the magnificent Burj Al Arab in Dubai, and then forcing the couple together again on the beautiful...more

Overall rating -- 2.5 stars

Up until the last two chapters, this book was an unsurprising, generic Greek-hero/secret-baby HP. If the HEA had been wrapped up with (view spoiler), it would have been a solid three-star book for me.

However, the last two chapters kind of ruined the rest of the book for me because it was nearly a deus ex machina ending (maybe it should be called a deus ex tragedia ending?). (view spoiler)...more

Aunq bastant cliché la historia al menos no retomo la relación solo con lujuria sino q fue el tiempo el q les permitio subsanar su relación y aclarar sus sentimientos... dándole algo d profundidad y realismo.
Shh I'm reading!
Two issues.
1. It was really short which threw off the pacing of the book. The last 15 pages cover almost a year period. And not by going into an epilogue but in paragraphs so terse, it's like the author was running out of time on an hourglass.
2. Also slightly disturbed that the one love scene included conversations like "Did you breastfeed [my son]?" Really? I support breastfeeding mothers as much as the next person, but when you're taking off my pants, I don't want to talk about anything relat...more
I cannot understand why someone would suggest marriage to somebody they haven't seen or heard from in 6 years just because a child is involved. I also didn't understand how Tina did not know that George, her sister's fiance and Ari, her baby daddy, were cousins until a couple of days before the wedding. I know this is fiction, but come on, this is just unbelievable.
This is a book.

I'm giving this 3,5 stars. It's a beautiful love story with two great characters it's a quick read. B
heroine and child meet up with so-called hero who wooed and won and then left her years ago
Ugh terrible. The ending was different. I couldn't stand either character.
Secret baby, family pressure, Abu Dhabi, Australia, prenup
