A must for fans of Husband's novels, and equally recommended to those new to her work. Each of these superb, eloquently written stories, although only short, will grab hold of you and linger long after the book is finished. (Also: PAUL! Gah, my heart breaks...)
I'd already read and enjoyed Marion Husband's "The Boy I Love" and therefore followed on with this offering of short stories. I found it difficult to write a review especially when the stories are not of equal calibre. The first in the book "The Lilac Tree" is a sweet, well told story about an old man who is remembering his early life and the love he lost, a fellow soldier. I'm always interested in how authors develop their ideas, and with Six Little Deaths you get an early glimpse of the characters (or ideas of characters) in Marion Husband's 'The Boy I Love Trilogy', though this could easily be read separately or as a taster.
