Texas Montgomery Mavericks, Book 1

What worked
Kathleen says:
The chemistry that Olivia and Mitch shared SIZZLED off the pages. I could really feel their attraction to one another.
I REALLY liked all the characters throughout this book with the exception of Joanna, Mitch’s ex-wife, but what’s a romance without some type of villain getting in the way of the H&h’s happiness.
Karla says: The Texas setting and the time Olivia, Mitch and Adam spent on the ranch. They started

Wow, this one was angsty, but ultimately a great love story. My heart was breaking for them both at the beginning as they realized that time had only strengthened their attraction and love. But oh, my, how I was yelling at Olivia near the end. Seriously, lol. I was saying "TALK TO HIM!! Don't be an idiot!!" In my car. :-) I can't believe she'd believe so easily, knowing how vindictive Joanna was. Especially when her own experiences had told her something so completely different. Even Magda told ...more

LOVE this cover ;-)

Texas Two Step kept me on an emotional roller coaster, there were moments I wanted Mitch and Olivia together and moments I wanted her to kick him in his junk. Olivia is a strong women, who right or wrong, made some tough decisions and is now paying the price for them. Mitch is a determined man, who bless his sexy lil' soul, had to admit he was wrong. He finally sees the light and destroys his douchebag crown for good and ends up being a man dreams are made of.

Texas Two Step is a Joyfully Recommended Read

Mitch Landry didn’t think the time was right for Olivia to settle down with him six years ago, so he walked away from her hoping that she would experience more of life and be ready to jump in then. However, six months after leaving her, he married his deceased brother’s pregnant girlfriend. Mitch wanted to give the unborn child a name; he thought he was doing the honorable thing. Now Mitch is back, ready to make amends for his decisions in the past an

Great read, loved both the primary and secondary characters. This would have been a five star read for me had it not ended so abruptly and had a epilogue. There were too many loose ends, hopefully we'll get more of Mitch, Olivia, Adam, Magda, and Drake in Travis' book Texas Tango next month!!!

*Many thanks to Karla for another great recommendation!! xo

Great debut novel by author Cynthia D'Alba being released Feb 28, 2012 by Samhain Publishing.

Sexy cowboy, a reunion at a wedding, a big secret, a rekindled romance, humor - what more do you need to get your read on? A very sexy bit of eye candy on the cover, wouldn't you say?

Mitch is a 6'4" cowboy with a chiseled body, long dark hair, blue eyes, sexy stubble, a "toe curling" grin, a kiss that "could make a nun question her vows" and a Stetson. It has been six years since Mitch has seen his forme

TEXAS TWO STEP by CYNTHIA D'ALBA

Six years after Mitch Landry broke off his very serious relationship with Olivia Montgomery with him using the excuse that she was very young and needed to date other people, the two are forced back into each other's company for their best friends' wedding. Much has happened in this time, both have been married and both divorced and now there's a child and a secret involved that can make or break their lives.

When the pretty blonde, Olivia, shows up at the airport

Why Texas Two Step is a Red Hot Read: I’m notoriously picky about romances set in Texas, as I’m sure anyone feels about their home state. To my thought, very few writers who aren’t from Texas (and some who are) portray Texas as anything but a stereotype. In Texas Two Step, Cynthia D’Alba’s hero Mitch is a rancher, but he’s more than the stereotypical cowboy.

Six years ago, his love affair with Olivia circled the drain because of Mitch’s misguided loyalty to his brother. Now, he wants Olivia back

Its a story about Two people who are desperately in love with one another who get caught up in circumstances beyond their control and make mistakes that they have to live with
It had a happy ending, I just hope to hear more about them in the other books and not just the main characters. I would like to know more about Magda and Drake,
I just really want to know what ends up happening to all of them

I really enjoyed reading this Book because it talked about real life issues,

I'm looking forward to the rest of the series

This is Cynthia D'Alba's debut book. Mitch Landry meets Olivia Montgomery in a bar when she and her friend are there to celebrate their 21st birthdays. He's attracted right away but then finds out who she is and that she's his friends sister. Oh off limits. He can't fight the attraction though and they go on a date. Things are great for a while and then he breaks her heart when he breaks off the relationship. He says he's doing it for her. He thinks she's to young to be that serious and he's goi ...more

Although a bit predictable, I enjoyed this second chance at love story. Olivia Montgomery Gentry is a divorced single mother who meets Mitch Landry, who is the love of her life, after six years apart. When Mitch comes to Dallas to be the Best Man opposite Olivia’s Maid of Honor at their friend’s wedding, sparks fly between them. Will Olivia be able to get over the hurt Mitch caused her in the past after he rejected her because he wasn’t ready to be tied down, and then married another woman six m ...more

My Review:

I really enjoyed this book. The basic story line was not anything new, but I thought Cynthia D'Alba wrote it really well. I loved Olivia's character. She has every reason to be bitter and harsh with Mitch, but every time those feelings rise up, she steps back to take a look at things from his point of view. I loved that about her and that aspect of her personality really made this book for me.

This book is about two people who were desperately in love, but then they got caught up in cir

This was a VERY enjoyable read...in one day. This was totally my kind of book! In short, Mitch & Livie are college sweethearts. Mitch ends up breaking it off and crushing her heart. It's six years later and, they are reunited at their best friends' wedding. The old feelings come rushing back...the rest is history as they say. Most of the book is about them rekindling their romance with a secret in the mix. Nice romantic/sexy parts too.

Great book! I look forward to more in this series. There was a lot to take in with the big 'secret' and the fall-out after everyone found out. My only compalint with it was that I wanted a little more at the end of the book. Maybe an Epilogue? But we will likely see more of these characters in the rest of the series.

I love old flames reuniting and secret babies. This book had both. It also managed to do that without making you angry with either character. Though there is a villainess that you'll want to choke. Other than her there are several other supporting cast that you'll love. I was drawn in from the first.

Absolutely loved this book, I couldn't put it down. It reminded me of Lorelei James and Vivian Arend's Books.
The romance was turbulent but that's what made it even better. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. Loved the great plot, that just happens to be one of my favorites to read. I can get into this kind of story, where they've both made some mistakes. It's what you do with them, right ? Well, in this engaging story, they both did the wrong thing for what they felt, at the time, was the right thing to do. It made some good reading and I really got into the story.
Like I said, they both messed up. Mitch had made a bad choice and it cost him dearly. Now, admittedly, he got

Wow I loved this book! I couldn't put it down and practically read it in one sitting. It was a roller coaster of different emotions. I laughed and cried so make sure you have tissues at hand. I liked that the emotional reactions were true to real life. When Mitch found out about Olivia's secret Mitch was mad and devastated and Ms. D' Alba wrote with true emotions and actions. I think to many times authors play down such reactions. Olivia and Mitch are great characters and Adam will steal your he ...more

I hated that I didn't read the little prequel that had Olivia's and Mitch's story six years before this book. I didn't feel like I was missing anything since the author did a wonderful job of brining me up to speed on what went on.

I just hate that Mitch had a lot of growing up to do and he missed the woman that was truly meant for him instead of that gold digging woman that was going to marry his brother.

I enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read the next one in the series. I know that I will

I went into this one thinking it would be a quick read and got sucked into a really good story, some steamy romance, a second chance at love (I am a sucker for a good second chance story)and engaging characters and a conniving bitch of an ex-wife...the type of character you love to hate in these stories. Great read!

I really enjoyed this story. The plot was mostly predictable, but the characters were very likeable and the story line held my attention throughout the book. I found myself reading way past my lights out time, always a sign of a good read.

Born and raised in Arkansas. After wandering the world for 17 years (okay, it was Memphis, but it felt like another world!), I've made it home again. I live in a small vine covered cottage on the shores of a 8,000 acre lake with 2 dogs, a bitchy parrot and my fisherman husband. Live is good.
