Take One More Chance is a short novel by 17 year old Shriya Garg. Though, the novel is fairly well written, it is fairly hollow and full of cliches and stereotypes. This is the story of Naina Kashyap, a 25 year old young woman who is an accountant by force( because her father wanted her to be an engineer or, if things got worse, an accountant) and who is now now once again forced to get married. The only choice she has is whether to marry a boy she loves or take the one chosen by her parents. Ba ...more

This one was a couple-hours long read. And a thorough entertainer nevertheless.
While the plot was a giveaway right from the blurb, it was interesting to see how the plot panned out.

There is an uncanny pleasure (sadistic?) I derive from stories that revolve around finding THE ONE. Any story around this theme inexplicably cracks me up, and there's no dearth of humor in them either. The world has been very dynamic and the approach to relationships has undergone a huge change, but a section Indian p

Bow down to the madame. :D :D..

Phew. That was something. Satire. A small word but it takes a lot to compel a reader to get submerged in the satire and enjoy it madly.

I enjoyed it like "Truly, Madly & Deeply".. ;)

When a 16 year old writes novels with such convictions you truly have to stand and applaud the effort. Even a veteran will appreciate it.

Naina Kashyap the central character of the book will make you fall down from the bed.. She's hilarious, bold, crude and outright single... Somew

'Take One More Chance' is the first book of the young author, Shriya Garg. It is a love story, filled with funny incidents but it absolutely realistic and engaging. I got this one from Juggernaut, a book site, and read the book on their app. If you want to know more about Juggernaut, click here. Let's get down to the review, shall we?

The story is about Naina Kashyap, a chartered accountant, who is in search of a suitable groom as her parents are pressing for her to be married. She manages to buy

Take one more chance is the debut novel of 16 year old Shriya Garg. The book is about the story of Naina Kashyap, who is everything that you can imagine a 21st century girl to be, but really not a marriage material. World falls for her, when her father announced that she has to get married in ‘6 months’. After many arguments she bow down, and goes for ‘man hunting’ with her friend Vandana! All the dates she lands in, turns into mishaps, and the boys over the hospital beds (really!) To make her l ...more

Things that I like

The concept is good. The book is a romance but you cannot compare it with the thousand romance books that get published every year. There is substantiality in the concept and the author is very much successful in maintaining it.

The writing is very, very fresh. You do not get bored with the lines and as I said that I literally swore when the book ended. I wish it was a little longer. All the incidents in the book are like they have happened in your life only. The pressure on Nai

This book is about a 25 year old accountant, Naina. She hates her job, is outspoken, and has a scalding tongue and unbeatable sarcasm & is protective over her siblings, cousins & best friend.

The plot is all about her quest to not oblige with her father’s wishes of settling down in life with an arranged marriage & her determination to find love in 6 months, failing which she has to bow down before her father’s wishes. And in a hilarious turn of events, which includes creating lists o

It was the story of Naina who is 26 years old so naturally her parents ask her to get married. Naina wants to get married to the boy of her own choosing and the story tells us about the events that leads to the true love. The story is simple enough and straight forward but written in a wonderful way that you go through the book like nothing. I kept on reading the book once I started and finished it in few sittings. This was a joyride to read so get full mark from my side... I read it on the Jugg ...more
