The cover me series is wonderful and I have loved the characters in both books. But, finding out Andrew and Nick we’re getting a novella I didn’t know what to expect. And OMG It tore me apart So real so raw and I wanted to desperately to just hold them both.

Their love had to overcome PTSD ongoing injuries and the WHY? Why are we still trying? Why does it hurt so bad? Two men who don’t know how to communicate have to figure out how to make it work and is it worth it!

This review was originally published on my blog Joyfully Jay.

Search Me is the third book in the Cover Me series and continues the story of paramedic Nick Swain and detective Andrew Carmichael. The story picks up after the events of Trust Me and focuses on the relationship between the two men, rather than a police investigation like the first two stories.

When we last saw Nick and Andrew, they were recovering both physically and mentally from an attack by a mentally ill drug addict who tried to k...more

I wasn't crazy about the last book in this series, not because of the HFN but because of the trust issues or lack thereof. I put off reading this last book based on that. Wish I hadn't. This book explained so much and it was realistic. And I have to give Ms. Witt a lot of credit for tackling a difficult and most likely unpopular plot line. Most romance readers want the thrill of the chase and the sweetness of the capture. (or maybe it's just me) They don't want love on the rocks. I'm glad Ms Wit...more

Short. Heartbreaking. Painfully real. Loved it! I wanted to know how Nick and Andrew - the two worst communicators in the world - would deal with everything they've been through. Because it's just not enough to love someone, you have bare yourself emotionally as well. And these guys do NOT do that. Witt really hits all the right notes in this one, Cover Me could only have been an HFN, not an HEA, and Search Me explains why and what they do about it.

Seriously. Perfect.

Okay so this was the third in the series but I read it second. I had to know how it played out. Had to. And, I'm glad I did. In this brief ficlette, you get to see exactly that. The pain and anguish come to a head. These two finally have to hash it out. Finally. I will admit, I did cry a tiny bit. It was hard to read at that one point. But then everything becomes clear for them. And the ending was just right. I love these two. I really, really do.

3.5 stars. Good short m/m romance following up on Andrew and Nick from Cover Me, who we saw were having problems in Trust Me. I got a little sniffly when things didn't look too promising for the guys...

Hard to read, but I liked it. You have to read Cover Me first. I think so, anyway. I like that it went beyond the happily ever after.

I started this last night, and finished it today...it's the sequel to Cover Me which I really liked. This one deals with Nick and Andrew's stormy relationship a year after Andrew got shot. I enjoyed this one just as much as Cover Me.

I wish I had never read this book. I felt awful while reading it. 90% of the story is spent with Andrew and Nick fighting and talking about breaking up or Andrew being introspective about breaking up. The resolution seemed a bit cheap after all the build-up. The writing was competent which is why I’m giving 3 stars.

Short, but emotional. A couple can't go through what these guys did without some struggles and doubts afterwards. I hope we get a book four in this series.

And this was my first book in the year 2012:(
It was not as nice as the first book of the series, in fact it was rather depressing. I hope it's not a bad omen:)

I love Andrew and Nick. This angst fest was absolutely my cup of tea.

Loved all the tension, and the resolution made for a believable HFN.

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who, after three years in Okinawa, Japan, has recently relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband, two cats, and a three-headed clairvoyant parakeet named Fred. There is some speculation that this move was not actually because of her husband's military orders, but to help L. A. close in on her arch nemesis, erotica author Lauren Gallagher, who has al...more
