I read the first two books in this series in 2011 and for some strange reason got waylaid by the author's other series until now. I devoured these last two books in 24 hours. In book 3 of the "Seasons Of The Moon" series, we find Rylie still living on the ranch with her Aunt Gwyn. Her boyfriend Seth lives in town, goes to school with her and works on the ranch along with his brother Abel. I have always liked Rylie, and she’s matured even more in this novel, though so has her wolf side, which makes her life even more difficult. Yet, I really enjoyed watching Rylie’s struggle between her human and wolf sides as Reine has written it so well, so lifelike. Although I wouldn’t say the idea of turning into a werewolf is real, Reine presents the struggles of the characters, especially Rylie, in a very vivid and real way. As Rylie struggles to control herself and maintain her humanity in the presence of other werewolves, especially those on her territory, Reine gives Rylie a very believable demeanor. And, while Rylie’s control is getting better, at the same time, it seems to be spiraling out of control, with Seth as her calming force, and his brother, Abel, as the instigator of the wolf, adding to the suspense of the novel.

Seth, of course, is just as dreamy as ever, and his impossible relationship with Rylie, he a werewolf hunter and she a werewolf, makes them a pair of star-crossed lovers that the reader can’t help but root for. But, Seth’s brother is also taking a stand in this novel. Abel, though much cruder than Seth, is changing as well, and his charm and wolfish side make him a worthy opponent to Seth when it comes to Rylie’s affection, creating almost a rift amongst them as the search for the killer. And thus, there is a major shift in this novel, steering away from lighter sides of the first two novels and giving it a much darker feel, especially as Rylie makes some choices that left me absolutely livid with her. And, while the novel is still YA appropriate and completely clean, the reader gets the feeling that things are going to have to get much worse for Rylie, Seth, Abel, and Gwyn before they can get better, and I’m anxious to know where the next book in the series will take us, especially as Long Night Moon does not end on a happy note...

This is one series that I've consistently enjoyed and book 3 is no exception. It's a little bit dark, a little bit angsty (in a good way) and it features one ball busting werewolf girl and the boy who loves her.

Plan and simple, I think the author has changed too much for my liking. Maybe that's why I have so many issues with this series. I just can't get my brain to come to terms with this as being something new. I keep comparing it to other werewolf stories I've read.

This is book three in the wonderful Seasons of the Moon series By S. M. Reine and it certainly keeps the reader engrossed. It’s fast paced from the first page right until the end and even then I was sitting there wanting more and practically shouting NO! to anyone who would listen. This book stirred up so many emotions in me, it was superb. That ending is a killer and it’s now got a place in my heart for books that keep the reader guessing and then completely blow their mind. Reine has really upped the notch in this novel and the stakes just keep getting higher.

Long Night Moon begins when Seth stumbles upon a dead farmer, who has literally been torn apart by an animal. When Rylie turns back to her human self, she wants to know if it was her but Seth reassures her it wasn’t as he followed her most of the night. Seth discovers there have been more killings recently and what’s even more suspicious is the two new werewolves who have just moved to town. Rylie knows she will need to show the intruders that this is her territory and they need to back off but it seems these new werewolves know a lot more than Rylie and they just want to talk to her. Things aren’t what they seem and things in Rylie's personal life aren’t any better. Her aunt is seriously ill and her boyfriend’s brother might be turning into a werewolf. Then there’s the matter of the school dance, add in two new werewolves and a bunch of killings and things really aren’t going to go smoothly. Rylie and co need to put a stop to these killings before someone else gets seriously hurt.

In this novel we get to see Rylie battle some more of her personal demons. She has to cope with her ill aunt and this puts so much pressure on her to do things right. We see her struggle to cope while the wolf wants to prey on this weak victim. Rylie also has to cope with a threat to her territory which is a first for her and the wolf is not going to stay quiet for long. There’s also this new attraction to Abel, Seth’s brother, which excites the wolf inside of her. Rylie has to battle so many of her inner demons while keeping a cool head and trying to act as normal as possible. But it’s so hard and we see her struggle with it and you just want to go and hug her. She does grow a lot in this book and learns many new lessons that she will need in the future.

We get a few chapters from Seth’s point of view which is rather interesting in this novel. We get to see how he interacts with his brother and how he’s cautious of this new side to his brother. These new werewolves were different… to say the least. I didn’t like them though no matter how much they tried to help Rylie and prove they were friends I just couldn’t get past the fact that they turned up in her territory and flaunted in front of her. Oh and the weird Wiccan man was giving off some horrible vibes and I didn’t like him at all.

I did really enjoy Long Night Moon although some things I wasn’t so sure about such as the new additions to the cast of characters but I can live with that. The mystery was brilliant, maybe even better than usual. The action was fast paced and gosh that ending was mind-blowing. It was so good. I just can’t begin to fathom how? Reine you really do keep your readers on their feet.

This one was so much better than the last 2 books. I honestly couldn't put it down and found myself picking it up every chance I could. There are 3 new characters introduced into this story, and Abel is bitten by Rylie in the last book, so you get to find out what happens, if anything, in this one. Already on the third book of this series and I can't get tired of it. Sure the books are short and not very long and sometimes ends off fast but I do love the series. He's more of a wolf in this book then the last, he wants to hunt down the new werewolves even if they are human. He even develops a interest in Rylie which I'm starting to seriously like just because I always fall for the second guy in books for some reason. Then there is the fact that even if he is scared he still sounds and acts sexy. The new werewolves are name Levi and Bekah they moved to town because they heard of Rylie. Not much is said about the two new wolves but I'm guessing we will learn more about them in the next book. Though right away you know that these two couldn't be the ones killing people. You also learn that Tate Rylie's school friend is gay and I had a major giggling fit when I learn of this, not to mention it's with Levi. I do wish there was more about those two but it was only like, oh they're gay okay. If only there was kissing I would have went crazy even more but the story is focus on Rylie so not much can be shown.

The romance in this book is very cute and much more then the last two books which I love. Seth and Rylie had a big make out scene which I was craving since the first book. Let me say this, I wish it continued and didn't stop the way it did but then Rylie still has to learn to control her wolf side. There is a small Abel and Rylie moments that got me to like Abel and her being together but who knows how it's going to go in the next book. Which is going to be very interesting after the way this book ending.

This book had some crazy moments with the way they described Rylie changing. To how was doing the killing, to the new wolves in town. From the start to the end everything drawn you into the main story plot. The fact that they don't know's killing the towns people you keep guessing till the very end. Then you wish that didn't happen because now everyone is split up. It's crazy, exciting and full of action. The moments you see where Rylie tries to act normal, trying to be human is sad because she's fighting with her inner werewolf. She wants to go to the school dance to be with Seth as a normal girl but she can't not with her werewolf side wanting to break out.

Overall I love this book series, I highly recommend it if you love werewolf books. They are short but not to much to leave you hanging.

Well.. by the time I got to this one, I was ready for something to happen. Something that would keep my interest going. Unfortunately, I did not find that in this book either. By the end, I was just skimming, just to get it done. I paid for the series. I wanted to read them.

This book was great, not good, Great!
I really like the beginning and the growing relationship between Seth and Rylie and Abel.
This book defiantly good although it has taken me a bit of time to read, either I was too busy or too tied, the previous book have kept me up and when I have gone to sleep I have wanted to know what is happening next. With this one not some much.
Also I love the twisted in the ending and it really doesn't end how you think!

I find it hard to write reviews on sequels. Especially when they’re straight five star books like this one. Long Night Moon is such a heartbreaking piece of Rylie’s story.

Rylie still struggles with herself and trying to figure out who she really is and how she fits in the world. She has faults, but shes compassionate and scared — something that shows well withing the relationship between Rylie and her aunt.

I'd recommend this to the people that liked either of the first two books or like werewolves. I would recommend reading the second or both the second and first books first as I felt there was a lot from the built on them.

Something is killing people in town and Rylie soon finds that she is not the only werewolf in her small town. Rylie lets Abel lure her into hunting and looking for the cause of these new murders. Are the new people there to help or hurt Rylie?

The plot to this one was good. I loved the mystery that S.M. Reine injected into this story.
Riley is such a great character. She is a werewolf with a serious conscience for animals. Once a vegan, she reluctantly embraces her desires to eat meat. It's comical but cute.
Seth and Abel are major players in this third book. Abel still doesn't like Riley much but Seth is more into her than ever.
Then the strange wolves come to town. They can shift at will and claim they are there to save Riley.

While I loved getting an update on what all the characters are doing now, it was such a bummer ending that it left me depressed. Oh god Rylie! Jesus man, what an ending, what a book!
If you have read the other two books before this & are thinking about reading this - do it - you will not be disappointed.
If you have not read the previous two books then read them first & then read this.

This book confused the heck out of me. All the clues pointed to one thing and then another thing happened. Perhaps I didn't read it close enough, and that might be my fault. There just wasn't enough plot development or character development to make what happens seem believable. A good attempt but just not quite there

In some ways, Long Night Moon is not as graphically brutal as its predecessor All Hallows' Moon, but it's still very intense. The story twists and turns like a classic whodunit as Rylie and her werewolf-hunting boyfriend Seth (and his mean big brother Abel) try to find who's killing people in their little town. The ending sets things up for the next (and IIRC, final) book in the series.

I forgot that this was the third book in a series and read it without reading the first two. There were a few times when I felt like I was missing info but the book still made complete sense. I really enjoyed this book. It was an interesting take on the werewolf story.

I just started reading Werewolf books, However I watched supernatural for years. I guess it must have reminded me of that TV series. This book featured Werewolves, witches, family drama and a love story! It was really good.

One of the things I love about this series is things are very often not what they seem and there are always surprises that crop up and this installment has a whopper. I really enjoy this series each episode presents Rylie and Seth with new challenges. This time someone is killing people in the area and all signs point to a wolf and they have to find out who this is and stop it. Long Night Moon has been my favorite so far in the Seasons of the Moon series. A great blend of character development and action to move the story along, and S.M. Reine kept me guessing throughout. So glad I don't have to wait to start book 4!
