I just keep saying goodbye to one series after another this month. It’s oddly disconcerting. I’m starting to feel like some sort of book undertaker. To be honest, the Sabina Kane series was never among my all-time favorites like Newsflesh or Sirantha Jax, but I still had a lot of fun with it, especially Green-Eyed Demon.

Blue-Blooded Vamp was all action, with a few delicious, swoon-worthy moments and a long sort-of-epilogue that was equal parts cute and annoying. But I’ll get to that later. I sho...more

2.5 *

Sabina gets to have her time with the father of the dark races after all, in this final installment.

We find her and the entourage in Rome looking for Abel. I think most of the readers have guessed who Abel really is. Well, apart from that, he is arrogant and very difficult to reason with.

Sabina has to prove herself though out the book and she gets to learn a lot as well. There is good enough action where she still is the badass we all know but with a bit of consciousness this time aroun...more

I can hardly wait for this final book to come out!! I don't know about everyone else, but I have a strong feeling that Abel is going to turn out to be Tristan!! Hmm....just gonna have to wait then. =/

Jaye Wells delivers in the epic conclusion to the Sabina Kane series. The half-vampire, half-mage kickass heroine readers have come to know as Sabina has her hands full as she tries to hunt down her next prey. This time the man she is after is far more powerful than the last enemy she faced down. The biggest, baddest chick is hellbent on exacting revenge on the man who murdered her friends and family , Cain – the father of the vampire race. Nothing is ever easy for Sabi...more

For fans of the Sabina Kane series, this book rocks!

Blue-Blooded Vamp is the perfect series finale, bringing together favorite characters past and present for an amazing quest through the many levels of Irkalla.

Blue-Blooded Vamp begins in New Orleans, where our gang is assembled. Sabina, Adam, Erron Zorn, and Gighul are getting ready to go after their nemesis Cain. They prepare themselves with all sorts of magic and some of Madame Zenobia’s voodoo spells. (Love her name!)

Merely few days after the event in book #4, Sabina Kane, her mancy lover, Adam Lazarus, and her Mischief Demon familiar, Giguhl are going to find the mage known as "Abel", the one who has trapped Cain, the father of Vampire race years ago. They need to stop Cain from barging in to Irkalla, to kidnap Lilith, since it will be the end of dark race as they know it, if such things happen. On top of that, Sabina must also fulfills the two favors she stacked up from asking the help from god of healing,...more

Sabina Kane, the former vampire-mage assassin, is on a mission. Her mission is to find the mysterious Abel and ask for his help in stopping Cain once and for-all. Abel is after all the only person who has had any sort of success in stopping Cain. Now, he is needed more than ever to prevent the destruction of the dark races. Along the way, Sabina will be tested and her patience tried over and over again until it comes down to her or Cain.

Fifth (and last!) in the Sabina Kane urban fantasy series about a half-vampire/half-Mage woman.

My Take
If I gotta be stuck with this OCD disorder that requires me to finish books and train-wreck series, it's a good thing that I read fast. I wasn't impressed when I started this series, but I did like Adam and Giggles. And I was curious as to where Wells would take this world she created. Unfortunately, it's overly dramatic and cliched.

Why does Sabina think she can get away with ignoring the favor...more

The conclusion to Jaye Wells’ Sabina Kane urban fantasy series; BLUE BLOODED VAMP was in a word; epic. This book was jam packed with complex characters, thrilling action, and startling realizations about Sabina and her heritage. I think just about every character from past books got at least a mention if not a small cameo which was nice as it felt like a kind of final curtain call. What I really enjoyed most about this book was that it constantly moved (we even begin the book on a moving train)...more

Okay, I love when a good series comes to a definitely close - no loopholes, and story-lines get wrapped up tightly. This one brings to the fun and whimsical Sabina Kane series to an action-packed and flirtatious end. I was not disappointed with any of the results. Although to be a bit critical, having read so many good series along the way, I was able to predict and figure out how events were going to unfold well before the climax of the book.

I like that Jaye does not take herself too seriously...more

Days after the ending of Silver-Tongued Devil, Sabina, Adam, and Giguhl are in New Orleans heading to see Erron Zorn to talk him into helping them find Abel, his contact in Italy who knows all about stopping Cain. But a wrinkle occurs, Asclpius the god Sabina owes not one but two favors to makes a dramatic entrance. Asclpius is taking priority over killing Cain with his trump card, and wants Sabina to kill someone and return a magical item to him. The ace is, this vampire's in Italy as well. Sab...more

Superb Ending to a Stupendous Series!

I strongly recommend you read this series in order (Red-Headed Stepchild, “Vampsploitation” - Vampire Romance 2 (anthology), Mage in Black, Green Eyed Demon, “Violet Tendencies” - (Sabina Short), Silver-Tongued Devil) prior to reading this book

Sadly this is the last installment in the Sabina Kane series and I am really going to miss the mischievous demon Gighul the most.

This book started off a little slow for me, however, once it hit the middle section, the s...more

Blue Blooded Vamp is the last installment of the Sabina Kane series. I have to say that it was absolutely epic and I didn't want the story to end. It is always wonderful to find a great series and heartbreaking to see it come to an end.

Sabina is out to kill the one man who cannot be killed - Cain. Unfortunately for Sabina, she is also being hunted by Cain because he wants to use her to gain access to Lilith. The God Asmodeus also has chosen this time to demand that Sabina repay a blood debt, th...more

i love these characters, i didn't always agree with the turn of events, but i did enjoy the ride. For those who don't know this is the book where we must bid farewell to our friends, as their story is finished.

It's a bitter sweet thing finishing a series specifically one you like but this is where its' at the trials and tribulations of Sabina's life have led her to the finale battle one she's not sure she can win. she's never been good enough, strong enough, brave enough, smart enough, pure enou...more

4 plus stars - Still reeling over the events from the last book, Sabrina doesn't have time to stop and give with big baddie Cain on the loose, and even though everyone has been saying that she's the Chosen she's going to need a lot of help to stop the father of the vampires in plot to get to Lilith - his success means the end of the Night Kind. So it's off to Rome with Adam, her mancy(mage) lover, and demon minion Giguhl to find the Abel, the only being who knows how to stop Caine.

Wow Sabina has...more

I really enjoyed this entire series by Jaye Wells and hate to see it end. But I respect Jaye for deciding to finish it up and move on. Sabina is the bad girl gone right. Like all of us she is just trying to find out where she fits in this big puzzle called life. Sure she says a lot of dumb things but her heart is always, almost, in the right place. She has become very considerate of her friends feelings, usually. In shor...more

Jaye Wells has ended her series wonderfully. I am sad to see Sabina and the crew in their final appearance but the way the story has been brought to a close is exciting, enthralling, down right exciting. Great job Jaye!Review to be posted closer to release date.

Five books of battling Cain and this is how it ends? Talk about going out with a fizzle… Well at least the story was all wrapped up in a neat little bow.

(view spoiler)[The first thing that annoyed me about this book is how all of a sudden Sabina is a supernatural skeptic. Which is hilarious for a magepire, that talks to Gods, with a demon for a bestie. My favorite example: Not being able to move when you wake up from a dream where you were shooting the breeze with a God, not an evil hag sitting...more

Superb, awesome, outstanding, thrilling...I could go on and on, but you get my drift. We first met the lovely, deadly Sabina Kane in The Red-Headed Stepchild, her world revolves around being raised as an assassin for her maternal Grandmother, the cruel head of the Vampire race and having prejudice all around her because her "never in her life" father was a Mage, whom the vampire race abhors. A wonderful reunion with her identical twin sister opens a whole new lifestyle for Sabine...and then thin...more

And so the series ends here - and right on time too imho.

Sabina sets out on her 'fool's errand' with Team Awesome (of course) to finally do for the father of the vamp race, Cain himself.

I was glad that certain character's who had outstayed their personal welcome with me didn't get a whole lot of prime time in this finale, namely: PW aka Brookes, Mac, Georgia and Zen. Also, if I'm being honest, Maisie was getting on my nerves a bit too - perhaps the writer felt the same and concentrated her effor...more

Oh, Sabina! You’ve come so far since we first encountered you as a vampire assassin for your grandmother in Red-Headed Stepchild. Discovering your mage half and embracing friendship and family, fighting your destiny and forging unusual alliances with many creatures – it’s been a real rollercoaster ride. This is your final book and while I won’t giveaway the ending, let’s just say I was more than satisfied!

Sabina Kane is on the hunt. Her prey is Cain, the immortal father of the vampire race, but Cain is also hunting her. So Sabina travels to Italy with her partner Adam Lazurus and demonic familiar Giguhl to track down a mysterious mage known only as Abel. Only he has ever managed to best Cain before, but he may not be willing to help them. Soon it becomes clear that it all comes down to who has the biggest motivation - Sabina and her revenge, or Cain and his domination?

Although I was sad to see this series come to a close, I found the ending to be very satisfying. I really loved the world created and the refreshing twist on vampire lore, with the reaction to the forbidden fruit and the trademark red hair; I thought it was ingenious. Of course I loved the characters-Sabina, Adam, Slade, Erron Zorn, Rhea but none more than..... Giguhl aka Mr. Giggles, aka Gigi!!! What is a girl to do without a 5th level Mischief demon minion with a forked appendage and witty ton...more

Review originally posted on my blog: A Book Obsession..

After the harrowing events of the last installment, Sabina has only one goal in mind. Revenge against Cain, for destroying everything she holds dear. She's bound and determined to kill him, even if it is the last thing she ever does. Problem is that doing so comes with the steep price of the deaths of the seven people closest to her, a sacrifice she isn't willing to make. But a powerful mage that goes by the name of Abel may just know of ano...more

I'm not used to finishing a book series, so this book was a little bit of a milestone for me. Aside from the Harry Potter novels, I've never slogged my way through more than a trilogy. It helps when the protagonist of the series is an ass-kicking vampire like Sabina Kane. I'll take her over a toe-headed wizard any day.

Blue-Blooded Vamp picks up almost immediately after the end of the fourth book, Silver-Tongued Devil, in the wake of Sabina's sister's murder at the hands of Cain. Sabina wants rev...more

I love this series. It all started when I received the first book as a gift from a fellow book blogger. I put it in my to be read pile and then another blogger friend started a read along on the book. Next thing you know I am completely hooked on this series and sat around waiting for the books to come out so I could devour the next one.

I can't say a whole lot about this book without fear of giving too much away. The book was full of action and intrigue. All the characters came out to play I li...more

Sabina and company, adam and giguhl and the exiled mage, are off to italy to attempt to find Cain. Cain was supposed to be locked up but somehow got out and killed Sabina's sisters and many others. The key to getting Cain is Abel, the man who originally locked him up. But Abel is a hard man to find and is much more than he seems. But to Cain Sabina is easy to find and they must constantly dodge him.
Relationships are a big part of this book in my opinion. She and Adam, she and 'Abel', Abel and h...more

While not a perfect series - seriously at some points, I wanted to smack Sabina - overall, the series got better as it went on and I found myself enjoying it. Blue-Blooded Vamp concludes the series and does so in a pretty satisfactory manner. I liked the ultimate answer to who is the "Chosen" one and I felt it wrapped up well.

This is the second series I've read in the past few weeks which concluded (following the excellent "Raine Benares" series by Lisa Shearin) which is always a little sad. I h...more

This accomplished what so many series finales I've read in the last few years haven't- gave it a friggin ending! I've been frustrated that so many great series have ended with maddeningly open ended books. If I'm going to say goodbye to characters and their stories, I'd like some finality, not a bunch of 'but what about this's and 'does x ever happen to y's?
My one complaint with this book (and the last few in the series, but especially this one) is that some characters' dialogue can be a little...more

If you have not read this series you need to do so…immediately. Blue-Blooded Vamp concluded the Sabine Kane series with a slam-fucking-dunk. The story was fast-paced, beautiful and unexpected. Sabina’s journey has been a character building masterpiece. Jaye Wells doesn’t fall short on this final installment. It was executed perfectly and kept me on my toes.

Jaye Wells has told a glorious story and adds to it with her raunchy and quick-witted humor, creative personalities, and fearlessness. As muc...more
