I absolutely loved Angie Stanton's book 'Rock and a Hard Place.' When I saw she had a new title out, I bought it the very first day! This book is AMAZING!! I am having a hard time knowing where to start.

I'll talk about Willow. She felt so real to me. She is one of the most driven young women I've ever encountered in YA literature. She has deep, amazing, intense passion for cheer and dance. I don't know if Angie Stanton has personal experience with dance/cheer, but the details were amazing! The d More...

This is one YA I am overly glad to have picked up. I loved Willow,Eli and especially Tyson! We start off meeting Willow the cheerleader, we get to read about the fall that changes everything in her life. I have never been a cheerleader, but have friends and family that are or were; so I know the amount of anxiety that goes along with the stunts. After Willow decides that she is finished with cheerleading, she gets bamboozled into auditioning for a musical by her choral teacher and former dance t More...

Have you ever had something happen to you , that made you scared ? So, scared that you would just give up and quit even if it was something that you really enjoyed, was really good at and loved to bits. Dream Chaser follows the journey of Willow , a top cheerleader and a daring flyer. She was the cheerleader that got all the stunts perfect and could do absolutely anything . All was well in her life until one perfect moment when her whole life came crashing down around her. While mucking around a More...

This book is about a girl who, in the past, quit competitive dance, because she was afraid of essentially a boy liking her. Where the book starts, the girl has now been in competitive cheer for the last three years (ever since she quit dance). She is her squad's "fearless flier," willing to be thrown really high up in the air and do all sorts of crazy twists and turns. In the very first pages of the book, however, she tries a really dangerous stunt and crashes into the mat. Her doctor says she i More...

Yea. I definitely looked like one of those guys above. SRSLY.

4.Smile like an idiot. A lot.

I'm not saying that I looked exactly like that. Maybe you could just pick out the way she smiles and imagined squidward doing it. Yea. That's more like it!

One word - Amazing. After I read Rock and a Hard Place, which made me cry like a freak (in a good way), this book didn't disappoint me at all. There were points where it was just down right hilarious. Especially with the grape Power Aid, when we meet Tyson's partner scene, and the awkward yet steamy dance scene with Eli and Willow. Those are just some scenes that are LOL funny. You won't regret reading this story, that's for sure!

Eli and Willow used to be best friends. Until a (view spoiler)[k (hide spoiler)] More...

Willow has always been a perfectionist, which is great, when everything lines up as planned. Nothing remains perfect forever, of course, so she's learned to maintain her sense of perfection by quitting when failure rears its ugly head.

Known as the "fearless wonder" to her fellow cheerleaders, Willow is the girl who can do any stunt. Carrying the team in competitions, she has complete trust in her teammates' ability to catch her when she vaults into one of those high-flying stunts... until the da More...

3 stars.
Summary: After a serious fall, Willow quits cheerleading, much to the annoyance of her teammates. She takes up dance instead, performing in a play where she has the lead female role, playing across from her ex-best friend, Eli.

To me, the story just felt a bit weak in places. I didn't believe in any of the characters and found myself more than a few times tuning out, reading on autopilot without actually taking the words in. Still, it wasn't the worst story ever. I enjoyed the characteri More...

Very cute story! Dream Chaser tells the story of Willow and Eli. Willow is a champion cheerleader, the most daring flyer in her squad and a National champion. While practising with her squad she attempts an illegal and dangerous stunt, which results in a terrible fall. When she comes crashing down, so does her confidence in ever flying again, so she quits the squad. When her best friend tries to convince her to come back she auditions for the musical, knowing Jilly (her BFF) will have to accept More...

It's funny how no matter how many times people are right, I still wonder if my tastes will line up with theirs. Welp, I also loved Dream Chaser. Thank you reviewers for convincing me to buy it. It had so much to it. It really was LOL funny...I mean, I recapped and told my Mom and hubby about the scene where she hears from Tyson about getting the part. Her parents and family just KILL me...they remind me of the 'rents in the movie Easy A....

Wow another amazing read!
So this story is about Willow, a seventeen year old who is a cheerleader and is the best at it. But when she suffers an accident while performing a stunt she gets so scared and traumatized that she decides to quite cheer for good leaving her team mates, who pretty much counted on her to win nationals, behind. The truth is that Willow is an expert at quitting when things go wrong or scare her too much because she did the same thing three yrs ago when she quit dancing and More...

Once I started reading I just couldn't put it down...it was THAT good!

Willow and Eli charcaters felt so real, like an old friend, their chemistry is unquestionable. They just feel so right together that I spend half of the book anxious for the moment that they would finally give in being mad at each other. And the way it happened it was even better than I expected, it didn't seemed forced, it just felt natural.

Angie Stanton is an asset to young adult literature. She is an extremely talented author who has a knack for writing entertaining and engaging novels. I have read two novels by her so far, Rock and a Hard Place and Dream Chaser, and I loved both of them. Angie Stanton’s novels flow so well. Her writing style is fluid, entertaining and mesmerizing. I was really contemplating if I would give it a five since it didn't give me the adrenaline and the same level of excitement I get from all the best fiction/dystopian/paranormal books I've read. But then I realized that would be unfair. They are totally in different genre.

So I gave this book a 5 and I meant it. Dream Chaser totally deserves it and the title really suits the contents of the book.

This book has just so many elements. So many conflicts. And those are all well connected. One leads to More...

OH MY GOD SO CUTE FLAILY HANDS. Just what I needed after endless hours of chasing news leads and doing overtime while struggling to file stories for the paper and asd;asj;ajf.

As teen YAs go, Dream Chaser was a lovable and easy-to-read addition to the genre. Pick it up if you're looking for a life-affirming yet light-ish book. It's easy to relate to Willow, personally--we've all been afraid of pursuing something in our lives.

SO. MUCH. LOVE.
Let me start by saying I wasn't sure what to expect from Dream Chaser when I started it. The description made it seem similar enough to countless other romance novels out there: a girl and a boy who once upon a time were best friends, then something happens, they fall apart, years later their paths cross again, and BAM! love.
What I found was something so much richer, so much more compelling than just that. Oh, sure there are those elements (all of th More...

Willow Thomas loves being a flyer for her National winning cheer squad. That is until she lands up in the hospital after attempting a new trick. Terrified of hurting herself again, she gives up cheer and to make sure she isn't cajoled into returning, she tries out for production requiring her to sing and dance. Willow is reluctant to dance again, especially when she finds out she will be paired with Eli, her dancing partner from childhood.

Okay, don't get me wrong here.
I really liked the plot. But if there's one thing that I would say about this book, it is that it feels very RUSHED. Like oh-my-gosh-i-need-to-get-these-ideas-in-my-head-out-and-about kind of rush.

See, the story starts with Willow urging her friends to help her do a complicated stunt. From there, she gets in an accident that, I should say, would change everything. And it did. But somehow, the execution of events seem kind of hurried. When her teachers immediately More...

Most of her cheer friends turn their back on her, so she decides to turn back to her first love - dance. Just changed my rating from a five star to a three star read. This book had ALL the elements of a five-star story but was sadly lacking in a few places.

Now, to explain my first impulse on rating it as a 5 star was that this book was a story about something I am equally passionate and in LOVE with--musical theatre. Add Broadway, a smoking male lead and a fairly nice and interesting female lead, and bam! I've got a five star book in my hand. Or so I thought...

Super cute, quick read. Willow is this amazing cheerleader who is scared to "fly" after a terrible fall leaves her traumatized. It just so happens that the lead for a huge Community theatre production has opened up and she has lots of time on her hands, the only negative is that the male lead is her "ex" best friend Eli.

The author does a great job portraying the real pressure kids go through, I have a 16 year old and she agreed. When Willow quits the cheer squad she is ridiculed and loses frien More...

This is a great story about Willow. She runs when she's afraid, but finally finds herself in a position where she must face her fears or lose herself and continue to hurt those around her in the process. I loved that Willow was so talented yet still had obstacles to overcome. It was a 4,5 to 5 rating

It may contain a lot of spoilers!

I liked the story since its start. I didn't know what to hope from this book and was a pleasure to find out how good it is.

So, the story is: Willow run away everytime she got scared with something. Three years before, she ran away from Eli (that is one of the cutest fictional guys I've ever met) and now, after one free-fall straight to the floor in Cheer, she quit it too, leaving Jilly, her best frend, really upset. Long story short, Wil More...
