Would be great for teaching alliteration, although it was a bit overlong and probably hard to read aloud without getting tongue-tied!

Thoroughly enjoyable, and a work-out to read out loud. I was a bit disappointed that Wenda wasn't more of a heroine, a role which really fell to Wesley the woodchuck. His constant refrain "Could be worse" is both a wise watch-word and witticism. Also, it seems the alliteration is catching.

What a wonderful tale to listen to (but a difficult one to read aloud smoothly)! Wenda's story is a pretty epic adventure, with twists and turns and characters that rival Dahl (and with so many W's!!). The ending, however, leaves a bit to be desired.

3.5 Who would have thought ... another Atwood kids' book. Thoroughly enjoyable, and a work-out to read aloud. But it made us laugh.
