This was a delightful and educational book told by Chula, a Shetland Sheepdog on her travels thru Paris and Provence. Not only was I entertained with Chula's funny antics but also learned words and customs about the places she ventured to in her travels. I loved the beautiful actual photo's taken on the trip and the ones of the markets and the flower fields were just breathtaking!

I was able to read the book online and on several pages there were accomnying videos of things in the story and that

Have you ever wondered what your dog is thinking as it sits staring at you? What thoughts are running through that fertile little brain? DOG TROTS GLOBE by Chula (as related to Sheron Long) presents a dog's eye view of foreign travel featuring beautiful photography, pithy observations and a travelogue type commentary that would rival the likes of America's leading travel authority, Rick Steves. Just as Steves presents his followers with the best of his European travel experiences, so too does Ch ...more

It's a Dog's Life - Bliss!

Sheron Long has created one of the most entertaining AND educational travel books about France available on the market. And she has accomplished this in the most warmly and friendly way. The book is actually 'written' by Chula, the 9-year-old Sheltie, as she accompanies Sheron and her husband Robert on a trip from the Carmel Valley in California via air to France. All of the little niceties are included from Chula's viewpoint - the flight in a cage, arrival in an airpo
In this adorable book, Chula, a Sheltie, recounts her experiences in Provence and Paris, France. There are beautiful photos of Chula and the sights that she comes across on her adventures. We even get to see the flight from her point of view. There are also adorable illustrations of Chula's world, in which she is the queen of course!

The print version of the book is such high quality, that it makes reading a pleasure. It's a hardback with full color photos and illustrations on every page. The pag

Let me start this review by saying I am a dog lover first and foremost. My shih tzu, Sassy is the center of my world, but my little one is a dickens and I love her for everything that’s good as well as everything that she does that makes me want to tear my hair out - on the rare occasion. With that out of the way here’s my review of DOG TROTS GLOBE: TO PARIS & PROVENCE by Sheron Long.

I found this book by signing up for its giveaway on Goodreads ( I didn't win it). I put it on my to-read list afterwards and decided to get it on a whim. Boy do I wish I downloaded the sample before paying $8 for this picture eBook.

I read the description before I bought the book. I thought this would be a fun novel told through the point of view of a dog with pictures thrown in. A literary novel with creativity and some sort of point, b

I love dogs. I love travelling.

This book is written by Chula Wula D'Auge ...

Chula, whose first name means "pretty" in Spanish, is a 9-year-old, 30-pound Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) with a true sense of adventure. Whether chasing squirrels in her backyard in Carmel Valley, California, or evicting feline squatters from her backyard in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Chula gives it her all. She's always ready to drop everything and go on a trip to town or across the globe. And she does it all with that lov

Not only is the concept of Dog Trots Globe completely adorable, but it’s incredibly well executed to boot. Through Chula, who is full of zest and charm, Sheron infuses the book with historical facts, travel tips and all the joie de vivre to be expected with the subject of France. Add in some stunning photography and witty illustrations and you have one whimsical, entertaining and insightful travel book. I caught myself with a big smile on my face as I was sifti

Dog Trots Globe - To Paris & Provence (A Sheltie Goes to France) by Sheron Long is a short and quite unique book. For one thing it is an enhanced audio and video (for iPad and online) and for another it is narrated by the dog. I really liked the suggestions of how to set the different devices for the best coordination of pictures and text.

I wouldn't exactly classify it for children as they wouldn't have a clue what the places are or words mean although I imagine depending on their age they

A delightful travel log as told by Chula, an adventurous nine year old sheltie. Author Sheron Long has written and compiled media files in a very clever format as an interactive digital book.

Chula accompanies her family, Bob and Sherry on a trip to Paris. Poor Chula is a bit miffed that she can not stay with her people during the trans-Atlantic flight. After more than eleven hours of travel Chula is finally able to relieve herself on the first tiny bit of grass she finds. Once she arrives at th

What a charming book! I'm so happy I received this as an Early Reviewer from LibraryThing.   The format and style of the book can be enjoyed by adults and children alike.

The book follows the travel adventures of Chula, a beautiful Sheltie dog, from CA to Paris and Provence in France. This book is a nice change of pace since it offers many wonderful color photos and videos to accompany the journey's tale as told from Chula's point of view.  It gives you a sense of going on the trip yourself. I am so glad this charming book was the first book I received as a Goodreads giveaway. Chula, a 9-year old Sheltie, travels to Paris and Provence with her companion humans and tells us about it.

Narrative is simple and straight forward; pretty much how you would expect a canine to tell a story. The book is loaded with pictures and drawings. And, while many of scenic pictures are stock photos, the pictures of Chula are well composed with lots of bright colors. The drawings of Chula at the beginni

I received this ebook from another site (thanks!!!) in exchange for a review.

Chula is a beautiful, 30-pound Sheltie who travels from her California home to France with her owners and narrates her first international trip! This story is accompanied with colored photographs and videos which are imbedded in the text, a concept I had not encountered before. I enjoyed it tremendously.

I don't think there are enough adjectives in the English language to describe this book. But here are a few: charming

This is the story of Chula, a Shetland Sheepdog who travels to France, from California, at the grand old age of nine. It chronicles her adventures from Provence, to Paris, and back home again. There is even a handy hints and tips for travelling on an aeroplane with a dog which is very helpful!

I loved this! It is a lovely, feel good book. It has lots of lovely photos of the journey, with the story built around them. It is an interactive book with some videos to go with it that can either be viewe

What a beautiful book. Although I do not have a Kindle Fire and had to read this on my computer, I am sure reading it on an iPad or some other type of tablet would be lovely too.

The photographs are beautiful, and I have never read a story where there are videos imbedded in the story, but it was a nice addition.

Wonderful story from a dog’s view of a trip to France. The author makes it feel as if you are there traveling with them. Included within the story are some French words, and songs, to make

What is the book about?

A Sheltand Sheepdog named Chula is traveling across the world. Along the way she describes funny incidents and takes breathtaking photos. At the end of the book you will get some great advice on how to travel abroad with your pet. Don't worry, you don't have to be planning a trip to enjoy this book.

What did I think of the book?

If you've ever wondered what your dog is thinking then this is a great book for you. It's funny and witty and gives you a small impression of what C

Dog Trots Globe - To Paris & Provence by Sheron Long is written from the viewpoint of her Sheltie Chula. The book comes off more as a short commentary on the different places in Paris rather than the story from the view of a dog. This would be a great book for an early French class to read to get an idea of the culture. But, it doesn't fit in the youth genre where I expected it to fit. The title gives the impression of something a 10 year old would enjoy reading. It's not. If you want to rea ...more

This is a charming book written from the perspective of a dog who travels with his owners to Provence. Dog Trots Globe is a travel book with a unique point of view! The dog in question, a lovely Sheltie named Chula, travels with his California-based owners to France. While there he Chula experiences all that France has to offer. The photography is lovely. It's a book which I enjoyed reading, and which I will also share with my kids.

If you love dogs & you love France, you're going to love this delightful little e-book about a Shetland collie who travels to France to stay with his owners in Provence and in Paris. Told in the dog's voice with lovely photographic and line drawing illustrations, we meet the locals, go to the markets and, in general, enjoy the trip as much as the dog does.

Sheron Long

Sherry first visited France as a student in Grenoble and has returned dozens of times to soak in the joie de vivre. The best trip, though, was when Chula came along. Relying on her years as a publisher, Sherry coaxed Chula into telling the true story of her travels and then turned Chula's barks into print.
