A MAN TRAPPED BETWEEN LIGHT AND DARK
"Christ in heaven, what have I become?" The cold reality bloomed cold and rigid in his mind. He had murdered her—had lusted for her blood—without hesitation, without remorse. He sank to his knees, the sudden realization too much for him to bear…

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summary:
A MAN TRAPPED BETWEEN LIGHT AND DARK
Freedom fighter, Carlos Salazar, lived by his sword, fighting evil in the guise of righteousness and the atrocities carried out in the name of God—until the night he met true evil. Three hundred years later, he still walks in darkness, his only solace the hope that one day he will find absolution and a purpose under heaven for his cursed existence. Can forgiveness transcend time and heal a broken s...more

******You heard it here at the Paranormal Romance Guild .***** In August 2010, Marianne Morea submitted her first piece to us for review called Hunters Blood. I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing it, her first novella. From my review on this site, I mentioned “Ms. Morea has separated herself from the crowd, and has executed an enchanting story of the paranormal.” This year she has come out of the gate with a breathtaking, well written, well researched novel about love lost and redemption...more

An intense and thrilling vampire epic:

This is an incredibly detailed and fast-paced paranormal story that had me hooked from the first page and rushing through the story to see what came next.

Carlos was unwillingly turned three centuries ago, since which time he has fought determinedly to resist his vampiric dark side, and fight for justice no matter what it costs. Trina is an unknowing ‘sensitive’ who can see more of the vampire world than she understands… or wants to see. At its heart, this is...more

Picked up Ms. Morea's novella, Hunter's blood from the kindle free reads and liked it so much, I downloaded this one. It's not the sequel to the other as I hoped, but it was a fabulous read nonetheless. It may be a vampire romance, but while these vampires are beautiful in their human form, they aren't when they feed. I found that a pleasant surprise, because vampires and what they eat doesn't exactly inspire romantic warm fuzzies when you really think about it. The characters, especially Carlos...more

This was great start to the series! I'm not the best at reviewing - but I know a GOOD book when I read it!

A Vampire (Carlos) filled with self loathing but a with sense of good and evil, and still after centuries, trying to embrace the good.

She,(Trina)the part-time waitress, the object of his attention, is somewhat immune to his power...for now. The story draws you in immediately and keeps you enthralled. I was NOT immune to his power. Yummy.

She is somehow familiar to him and yet a mystery. Cha...more

Loved this one---Marianne Morea takes the reader on a journey with this one. The characters are strong as well as the story. A young woman who has been experiencing a dream lover only to find out that he is real but a vampire! A centuries old vampire reawakened to love by a relative of someone from his past. The tale weaves in and out and keeps the reader guessing and asking for more. I hope that Ms. Morea decides to give us more and continues this saga with stories of the "family".

Interesting; not the greatest writing but certainly and enjoyable read. I found the story flowed nicely and had few errors. Of course I must state this is a Kindle download so any errors may not have been the authors fault.
Linda
Loved this book. The story of Carlos & Trina was great! I can't wait for a sequel!

Summary (Spoiler Alert! This entire review is a spoiler. Read at your own risk.)
Blood Legacy is the story of an insipid cocktail waitress, Trina, who becomes the object of a vampire's affections. Carlos is a centuries old vampire whose greatest desire is to reclaim his humanity. This storyline has been overdone and Blood Legacy doesn't introduce anything new. The silly human makes stupid choices which endanger others and then gets captured by the 'bad' vampires. The good vampire tortures himself...more

I'm so pissed at myself. I purchased the Kindle edition of this book the same time I purchased "Hunter's Blood" by the same author. Big mistake. I mean BIG! I wish I'd paid attention. I didn't think very highly of "Hunter's Blood" (total understatment), but when I realized my mistake (I'm such an idiot) I decided to give this one a chance, only when I got to the end of it I wished I didn't. What a fucking bore!!! You heard me. It's bloody booooorrrring!! The two protagonists are so one-dimension...more

Oh my Lord, I absolutely adored Marianne Moreas book Blood Legacy! Quite frankly, I'm surprised it does not have a higher 4-5 Star rating. I entered to win this book through a blog for the cover alone~ So intriquing and sexy with the black lace and eyes! Was flabberghasted when I actually won. To my delight, it was also an AUTOGRAPHED copy! Sweet! I was tickled pink to find this book waiting in my mailbox. So hard to put down, I love vampire reads, and this one really floored me. Amazingly descr...more

I read Blood Legacy sometime ago, and I apologize to the author for taking so long to post a review. However, I'm happy to report that Blood Legacy is a well-written, entertaining book. I'm a lover of paranormal romance and vampires, but not every book of this genre is worth the read. However, Marianne Morea knows how to create a good story from start to finish, and her characters - Carlos, Trina - are well developed. Strong writing is important for every genre, and Morea has accomplished that w...more

Starts out steamy!!! I was shocked at how he was turned and what he did after, but was cheering him on when he was kicking his makers butt. I loved the chemistry between Carlos and Trina, there were definite sparks until he accidentally shows his true nature. I was a little surprised when I found out who Isabel really was. I absolutely loved when Trina first met Carlos’s family. Toward the end Sandro has Trina kidnapped and you learn the true connection between him and Trina’s family. When Carlo...more

A very well-written tale between good and evil, hot vamps, humans, love, danger...a little dark. The author draws the reader in, as with her other works with intense descriptions, dialogue and action. The plot was brilliant! An old vampire and a modern day woman, flashbacks to 300 years prior, a new take on vampire myths...Loved it!

Cannot say enough. I have a new favorite author. The connection of Carlos and Trina is so well put. Read the book in three nights. Cannot wait for the next one

A good story except I felt it almost incestuous and creepy knowing the relationship that Carlos had with Isabelle...
