3.5 stars rounded up to 4. This is a really sweet and hopeful story. I really liked Oscar and Curt together. Curt has stayed away for three years after his family did not take his coming out very well. So he moved from Minneapolis to San Diego and hasn't seen his family in all that time. Of course he comes home to a horrific snow storm and he skids off the road. Luckly for him (and some amazing yellow boxers) he is rescued by Oscar - who is also visiting to take care of his grandmother's place a...more
This is a simple story about rescue, new friends and hope. The combination of that and the potential for more makes it a very nice Christmas story and left me with a smile on my face.
Curt hadn’t planned on needing to be rescued, but when he gets stuck in snow only an hour from home to see his family for Christmas (the first time in three years), he is very happy when Oscar digs him out of his car. His parents may have rejected him three years ago, but have learned a lot since then and have come...more

Warning: This review might be a little gay…
OMG (see gay) this book didn’t suck. I liked it
This book is probably more like 4 stars, but I am going to round up to 5 stars, I can do that you know.
It was too short. That’s the only thing I really didn’t like. But it wasn’t so short that I felt like the story just stopped. The ending is sweet and hopeful.
The story was pretty simple but very Christmassy and about family and reconnecting. I liked all of this and even though i...more

Sweet but too short. I really did like the yellow boxers, though. A little too coincidental with both the MCs coming from San Diego. The sudden kiss in the kitchen made me think about the fact that it came from the non-viewpoint character, which somehow struck me as odd... Still I did like Curt and Oscar, especially their names!
This was an adorably cute story. It's about Curt getting stuck in a snowstorm on his way to visiting his family and Oscar coming to his rescue. It's about family understanding and forgiveness, making up for lost time and finding someone special when you least expect it. It's a very nice, sweet story and I loved the fact that Curt and Oscar essentially go through the same things with their parents but that there's hope Oscar's family will come around since Curt's family did after their falling ou...more
Short and sweet, and probably the best of the DSP Adventscalendar bunch so far....

I REALLY enjoyed this story! One of the best of the DSP advent calendar stories I have read so far. I thought that it was very sweet, but not sickeningly so, very real, and just what the holiday spirit should be about. I definitely recommend this one! I just want to read more!
