2nd part of the story of the five survivors on the island of Lincoln. The small group gets a new member Ayrton, who was left to survive on his own on a neighbouring island of Tabor, and who's fate is bound with another trilogy of Jules Verne "The children of Captain Grant". The climax of the story is the discovery of the island's benefactor: captain Nemo. His story is told in 2 parts in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

Het tweede deel vond ik een stuk mooier dan het eerste deel van Het Geheimzinnige Eiland. In het eerste deel werd voornamelijk beschreven hoe de vijf kolonisten aan grondstoffen kwamen en een bestaan opbouwden terwijl ze in het tweede deel avonturen beleefden en er meer spanning in het verhaal was.
