Wow! This is a great story about Cole, a writer with a heart frozen by loneliness and grief, and his editor, Eric, who slowly melts the icy layers with a barrage of friendship, love, and explosive passion.
Cole is a great guy. He has weathered more loneliness and grief than should be allowed, and uses all of it to fuel his writing. He may now be a successful writer, but he is still lonely. His only real friend is also his editor, and Cole is not only convinced Eric is straight, he is also afraid...more

I don’t know. It was definitely an okay short story and I’m sure a lot of people enjoy it. For me it simply did not go beyond mild interest.
Perhaps it was that the characters did not make me love them, even though they were nice enough. Or maybe the writing did not convince me. Not that it was bad. And this romance clearly was based on years of mutual hidden longing and friendship, which neutralizes the threat of moving too fast into the deep end of the relationship. Still. I don’t feel particul...more

I really enjoyed this story and its "flowery, over-the-top style" mostly because its a CHRISTMAS STORY!!! I love short romantic stories that bring warmth to my heart especially this time of year and Cole and Eric are just the characters to do it :) I thought the story was short and sweet and to the point while still maintaining adequate character and plot developement. This is the perfect story to curl up next to the fire place and read while sipping on some hot chocolate. If you like those warm...more

This story is about a writer, Colton, who has closed himself off from the world after the death of his sister - his only living relative. His editor, Eric, decides that after nearly 6 months, it's time to get him back among the living. It helps that the editor is hot and that the writer has always secretly been attracted to him. Of course he mistakenly thinks that Eric is straight, when actually he has been attracted to Cole since they met. A few misunderstandings and prickly moments, but ultima...more
This is a nice heartwarming story. I just don't think the title is right. Cole is not exactly an ice prince. He actually has passion toward Eric for long, but hides it. That now he's a bit into solitude life is nothing but an expression of his grief from losing the only family member he had.
I like the interactions between the MCs. Eric is just a nice person who couldn't stand seeing his friend and love interest being alone.

This was one of the sweetest stories I've read in a long time. Cole was probably always a bit of a grinch, but personal tragedy has made him even more so. Eric has dropped hints for years, but Cole is clueless. In the end, the story is well written, the sex is hot and the ending is full of holiday cheer...loved it!
Fun, OK holiday read. One of the better stories I've read from the DSP advent calendar this year, that's for sure.
2.5-3*
The story was Ok, but I didn't really come to know or care for the MC's and couldn't get into the story.
