Wow! This is a great story about Cole, a writer with a heart frozen by loneliness and grief, and his editor, Eric, who slowly melts the icy layers with a barrage of friendship, love, and explosive passion.

Cole is a great guy. He has weathered more loneliness and grief than should be allowed, and uses all of it to fuel his writing. He may now be a successful writer, but he is still lonely. His only real friend is also his editor, and Cole is not only convinced Eric is straight, he is also afraid...more

The loss of his sister hit Colton hard, as she was his only blood relative. He is hiding out when his editor, Eric, makes the trip to drag him back to the world. It's sweet and sad at times, and a lovely ending.

I don’t know. It was definitely an okay short story and I’m sure a lot of people enjoy it. For me it simply did not go beyond mild interest.

Perhaps it was that the characters did not make me love them, even though they were nice enough. Or maybe the writing did not convince me. Not that it was bad. And this romance clearly was based on years of mutual hidden longing and friendship, which neutralizes the threat of moving too fast into the deep end of the relationship. Still. I don’t feel particul...more

I really enjoyed this story and its "flowery, over-the-top style" mostly because its a CHRISTMAS STORY!!! I love short romantic stories that bring warmth to my heart especially this time of year and Cole and Eric are just the characters to do it :) I thought the story was short and sweet and to the point while still maintaining adequate character and plot developement. This is the perfect story to curl up next to the fire place and read while sipping on some hot chocolate. If you like those warm...more

Eh so far are we know is they like each other because they like watching the same type of movie and watch them just the two of them. That's it! that's all we know for why they like each other and apparently both lust after each other, but neither admit that.

So there is a masturbation and fantasy sex scene. i already hate those especially in short stories since they add nothing to the story, its fantasy within the fiction and doesn't build the characters or

This story is about a writer, Colton, who has closed himself off from the world after the death of his sister - his only living relative. His editor, Eric, decides that after nearly 6 months, it's time to get him back among the living. It helps that the editor is hot and that the writer has always secretly been attracted to him. Of course he mistakenly thinks that Eric is straight, when actually he has been attracted to Cole since they met. A few misunderstandings and prickly moments, but ultima...more

More like 2.7 or 2.8, really.

This is a nice heartwarming story. I just don't think the title is right. Cole is not exactly an ice prince. He actually has passion toward Eric for long, but hides it. That now he's a bit into solitude life is nothing but an expression of his grief from losing the only family member he had.

I like the interactions between the MCs. Eric is just a nice person who couldn't stand seeing his friend and love interest being alone.

This was one of the sweetest stories I've read in a long time. Cole was probably always a bit of a grinch, but personal tragedy has made him even more so. Eric has dropped hints for years, but Cole is clueless. In the end, the story is well written, the sex is hot and the ending is full of holiday cheer...loved it!

The story was acceptable, but I simply couldn't warm up to Eric and Cole. Both were so bland and uninteresting characters, I couldn't enjoy this story at all.

Fun, OK holiday read. One of the better stories I've read from the DSP advent calendar this year, that's for sure.

The story was Ok, but I didn't really come to know or care for the MC's and couldn't get into the story.

Meh short m/m holiday romance written in the sort of flowery, over-the-top style that annoys me no end.

Jana Downs lives in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina with three cats, one dog, several dozen fish, and a very understanding partner-in-crime who hates to read but makes exceptions for her stories.

You can usually find her either watching bad reality TV, buying way too many books on Amazon, or dreaming up another man or two to occupy her time because life is good but several drop-de...more
