The second book in the Channeler series continues to follow Erin and her discovery of her Channeler powers, and now, we're introduced to the notion of a society - her society. Even though I wasn't as immersed as in The Secret of Spruce Knoll, I certainly enjoyed finding out more about their powers, in addition to seeing her relationship with Aiden grow.

Even though I wasn't as immersed as in The Secret of Spruce Knoll, I certainly enjoyed finding out more about their powers, in addition to seeing her relationship with Aiden grow.

Passionate and sweet, the romance plays a big part in this sequel. Aiden and Erin are becoming accustomed to their connecting powers and I especially liked how that all works. As in the first book, I found their relationship very mature; it's not only filled with lust and angst, you can see how they simply click together. I also loved the addition of Caitlin in the story. As Erin's new best friend, it's great to finally have someone she can trust and turn to other than her boyfriend. Plus, we've got a secondary love story brewing which I found completely endearing. All the characters are truly wonderful; well-rendered and charismatic, they're easily my favorite part of this series.

We start to delve deeper into the paranormal elements of the story in Channeler's Choice. We learn a lot about the society that's quickly becoming a monumental part of the plot; I especially enjoyed the rules at the beginning of each chapter. I do find that Erin and Aidan's powers are maybe a bit too perfect, but it's interesting to learn the complexity behind it all. Along with the secluded town and detailed history, it's an incredibly imaginative world that Heather has given us.

A new society is forming, Erin is learning to control and fight, her relationship with Aiden is blooming, this doesn't leave a whole lot of time for actual plot development. We do have some action at times, but the pacing is a bit on the slower side. This is not necessarily bad since the time is spend reinforcing the world and setting up for this supposed upcoming epic battle, but I was craving for more details on this approaching war we keep hearing about. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what happens with this society and how it will all play out.

I loved the first book and I was even more excited when Heather contacted me and told me she could send me the sequel to review!

Eren is still dealing with the hardship of her parents murder. Could you blame her? But now she has other things to worry about. Like the possibility that Luke, a guy who almost killed her, could come back for her. I'd be a tad worried if I were her. Luckily, she's got her family and Aiden to protect her. I love that in this book Eren actually gets a best friend. To me, best friends are crucial in a YA book. They are there for the main character when they're having problems or when they just need to talk. And Eren finally got that friend. And I LOVE her. She was definitely there when Eren needed her. Even during boy troubles. ;)

Something I loved about this book was it wasn't one of those books that was sort of just a filler in the series. MAJOR stuff actually happened in this book. Stuff that impacts the whole series. This isn't always the case when it comes to series and I sure am glad it wasn't the case for this one.

The romance between Aiden and Eren is definitely still there and it starts right where it left off. These two are absolutely perfect for each other and you can tell that nothing can break them apart. Especially when another girl tries to sabotage Eren and Aiden's relationship. I love how faithful Aiden is to Eren and how he would never think of doing anything to hurt her.

A big part of this book is that fact that Eren has a chance to choose whether or not she wants to keep her powers of being part of a crazy Mayan Prophecy. I liked how Heather made you go back and forth with Eren on if she should or not. At some points I wanted her to, but then someone like Aiden, (Man, I love him.) would change her mind and mine along with it.

Another great thing was that Eren's cousin got a chance at romance. Which was super great. Considering he had done so much to deserve happiness.

The ending? COMPLETE TWIST. I didn't even see that coming. Heather did a perfect job of me wanting to read more. I'm in love with these characters and I can't wait to read more about them.

Channeler's Choice is definitely my choice for a fantastic story. Heather McCorkle turns the heat up in her second novel of the Channeler series. I loved the first book The Secret of Spruce Knoll, but McCorkle set my heart on fire with the romance between Eren and Aiden in Channeler's Choice. McCorkle even brings in the slutty girl that's trying to take Aiden from Eren. Oh yeah, this book is hot. I started reading this book as soon as I finished the first one because I just couldn’t wait to see what happens next!
In this book, Eren has almost accepted the murder of her parents and is trying to move on. It helps that she has Aiden and Fane around to keep her company and just be there for her. However, in this book Eren realizes that she has a choice, she doesn’t have to embrace her Channeler side, she can be normal again.

As Eren struggles with the choice she is able to make, we get to meet and absolutely LOVE Caitlin, she is just super awesome, and her and Fane? Aww too cute! Caitlin is Irish, we sorta met her in the first book very briefly but in this book she is always there, she is very supportive of Eren and whatever decision or choice she decides to make. Caitlin also is the forth person who joins Aiden and Eren’s new Society.
This book, as with the first deals with simple minded people who do not believe in mixing the races, Aiden and Eren also come across a few little bumps in the road to Happily Ever After, and then there is Aunt Sylvia, I totally love her, and I wish she was in the series a bit more! She is straight to the point, but also funny especially when she tries’s to talk to Eren about sex, I honestly found myself laughing out loud during the ‘Spa’ visit!
I also love the relationship that Aiden has formed with Fane, as well as with Zolan and Alin. Aiden is a very strong male character, but he is also one who has never had a real family. So the fact that these 3 men have accepted them wholeheartedly into there family was very heartwarming to read about. Aiden and Fane are like long lost brothers rather then just friends.
This is the second book in the series, and as soon as I finished this book I went to start the third book Rise of a Rector… and I DIDN’T HAVE IT YET! I almost freaked out because I though it was already on my kindle app! It was probably a really good thing I didn’t have it though, it was like 3 in the morning and I was expected at work in the morning… but I was able to get a copy the next day before I even had a chance to start reading a new book, so I was happy again.
If you have not read this series yet, you are totally missing out, it has romance, magic, friendships, and love. Totally a series worth checking out! I am so glad that I finally did!

It's about Channelers, earth bound, and THEY HUNT?
I was crying when they where hunting those deers, because I felt pain and sadness ...
3 deers and a doe, why? One not died so tey slice the troat? How awesome f****** great !!!

I also did not like the tournament pages, sorry ...

I am not the target audience. I wasn't the target audience when I was a teen. I never liked girlie-romancie, helplessness and swooning. Redeeming factor is that the main character did try to use her gifts and regain some kind of independence. But not very much.

I found I understood more about the main characters and their missions. I just wish both books would have spent more time on the wonders of the channelers.

This book mostly described the many different ways and reasons Aiden and Eren couldn't keep their hands off each other. It surpasses and more than makes up for the lack of teenage angst in the last book. unfortunately, I have lost my interest in this series. Too much kissy-kissy spacefiller.

Another fantastic book written by Heather McCorkle!
Her writing style is amazingly believable and I absolutely loved her character Eren. The world of channelers is enchanting packed with mystery. I highly recommend this book!

Eren's story continues in Channeler's Choice. She's discovering what it means to be a channeler along with being a living Mayan legend and working out her intense relationship with hero, Aiden. The relationship between Eren and Aiden is electrifying. I love the closeness between these two characters as well as their friendships with secondary characters, Fane and Caitlin. Of course I'm a bit biased because I am so vested in these characters and their world. If you enjoy urban fantasy, paranormal with a different twist, or magical realism, then Channeler's Choice, book two in the channeler series, may be a great fit for you. Full of mystery, danger, magic, and a healthy dash of romance, Channeler's Choice aims to entertain.
