This was an amazing journey that I literally couldn’t put down. I wasn’t sure about reading a book about Angels and heaven. I’m wary of things that are too “preachy” but this book is probably the furthest thing from that. I started reading at 9:00 pm and didn’t put the book down til I was finished at 4:00 am.

Infinite Sacrifice is the first book in the series by L.E. Waters and the premise is fascinating. Waters clearly did her homework as she takes Maya through the ages in various forms. What you read is true to the time, and it shows. You know you're in Egypt when Maya is in Egypt. The writing is clean and direct with very little flourish. Historically, she is spot on and should be commended.

I'm a details person, what can I say? I love the tiny details of a story that make it complete. Infinite Sacrifice is about all those small details, so I was in heaven!
When L.E. Waters contacted me for a review, I was supremely intrigued by the blurb. Reincarnation will always fascinate me, then she succinctly pointed out out that one life involves vikings. Now, they are Dane's not Norwegian, but vikings are vikings so I was even more inte...more

When Maya dies she finds herself in somewhere akin to heaven. She is keen to be reunited with others she has lost but instead finds herself at the start of a journey, lead by her spirit guide Zachariah. Before she is able to move on she has to review her past lives and show she understands the lessons each incarnation should have taught her.

This is not the first reincarnation romance I’ve read, but it’s the first with this unique approach. L.E. Waters placed some high bets in writing this piece, and I think that, for the most part, they’ve paid off.
This first volume is a bit like a collection of short stories, with each story being one of the main character’s previous lives. To be honest, I was blown by the level of detail each incarnation was given. If I expected anything like your usual star-crossed lovers who have to fight throu...more

Maya has arrived in Heaven as the book opens but is dismayed when informed by Zachariah, her spirit guide that she will need to review her past lives in order to move to the next plane of Heaven. Until and unless she does this, she will not be allowed to see her family and most loved ones. She somewhat reluctantly agrees and the book proceeds to go through her past lives in sequential order. In an interesting organizational feature, each “life” is followed by a table organizing the people and ev...more
This is a fascinating read. The story opens with a Prologue that just grabbed me and pulled me into a wonderful reading experience. I wasn't sure I would enjoy reading a book on death and the afterlife.
The story is about Maya who after her death travels to what she thinks is heaven. She meets her spiritual guide and a fascinating journey begins.

The premise is unusual: the afterlife is not simply Heaven, but the opportunity to review all of one's previous lives, with the assistance of one's own spirit guide. This book reviews Maya's/Lazrina's (her name in her just-past life/her spirit's name) first four lives. From ancient Egypt, to classical Sparta, to early medieval Ireland, to late medieval England, Lazrina alternates genders but maintains key traits (a mole on her left hand, prophetic dreams), accompanied by a number of significant...more

Most of the time, when I've seen "Free" next to a book's cover image, I've been subsequently disappointed by the content (or lack thereof) beyond that point. However, Ms. Waters has done a fairly good job of crafting a story that held my interest, even though I wasn't too sure I was going to enjoy it based on the synopsis. Having read most of the book at this point, I can honestly say I found the plot interesting, the premise intriguing and fresh, and the book itself got me interested in the se...more
Infinite Sacrifice is book one in the Infinite Series. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The book quickly catches your attention right from the beginning. I had never thought I would enjoy historical fiction however, it is written in such a way that it flows within the story and is very realistic. She must travel back thru her past lives in order to move ahead and rejoin the ones she loves on the other side. This book is a great spin on the afterlife. I really enjoyed the stories and thou...more
AMAZING...simply amazing! Looking foe a GREAT read? You can't go wrong with the Infinite Series. I couldn't get enough. I was held spell-bound, heart racing, breath holding, left wanting more. After reading the first book, Infinite Sacrifice, I immediately went back and bought the second book! Waiting impatiently for the third book now.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading L.E. Waters’ Infinite Sacrifice, the first in the Infinite series. The synopsis seemed intriguing enough with the promise of a trip through some of my favourite parts of history but how vivid would these moments be?

Wow, wow, wow. This novel is now one of my all-time favorite books. I don't know where to begin.
The premise of this story is one of a kind. A story about a woman who must reincarnate until she learn's life's most important lessons is genius. And L.E. Waters makes the story very believable. This first book begins in ancient Egypt and continues until the Black Plague in London. It is very clear that she has done her research yet she weaves the background info seamlessly into the story. What a crazy book!! I thought it might be overwhelming and confusing but it was not at all. Each story was seperate, but they are intermingled in a delicate way. Very well written, thought out, and crafted. I loved reading this book and was sad that it didn't take me as long as I thought it would!! I can't wait to get into the rest of the series!!

Infinite Sacrifice was a great novel. It was interesting to hear about all of Maya's past lives. The book made me reflect and wonder, if I had past lives, what would they have been like? I liked watching Maya mature throughout her reincarnations. In her first life, when she was a male priest, she was a jerk. She thought only of herself and her mistress. In her second life, a Spartan wife and mother, she matured a bit. She put one of her son's needs above hers. She was still a jerk though. Her ot...more
I liked the concept of viewing past lives & seeing the connections between them & other souls reappearing as different characters in differents lives to help or hinder the main characters progress, however I just didn't find the stories/past lives themselves that interesting. I liked at the end of each life you had a little run down of each character & who they were in the prior life.
It was an ok read but not stimulating enough for me to want to buy the next one. Shame, as the idea...more

I have mixed feelings about this ebook. I downloaded it for free from the authors website and have spent a few weeks going through it while on vacation.
While I really wanted to love every moment of it (reincarnation, deep history, etc.) I just ended up confused more often than not. It was hard to keep up with who was who in each life, and I felt like each of the four lives covered were hardly even connected.
But, I did love each of the lives as individual stories and I think that if each one wa...more

Enjoyable collection of historical stories... I like the framework story of it as well, though I was a bit uncomfortable with some of the religious philosophy we're buying into for the story's sake. However, if you pick up a book about reincarnation... well, you know what you're getting yourself into! I like the author's chart for keeping track of people from one story to the next. After finishing this one I immediately picked up the next book in the series.
This book was not what I expected - in a good way. It's healthy brain candy for history buffs. She does a great job of quickly reconstructing each era in history, describing each life vividly and well.
In Book I, she begins in ancient Egypt, hops to Sparta, then the Viking raids, touching down during the Black Death. I'm looking forward to Book II, which I assume will include the Renaissance & French Revolution.

I couldn't put this book down! From the beginning to the end the author kept me hanging. The main character dies and goes to "heaven" only to be told she must re-live all her past lives before she can continue to meet those loved ones that have gone before her. The author made the time periods so exciting, from the way people lived, the language and period history. I loved it! I can't wait to start the next book in the series.
Really enjoyed this book. Its not my usual pick but I guess that why I liked it so much. It allowed me to read mini historical fiction stories that I found interesting with delving into a full blown novel. I liked that and I found that I might like to read some historical fictions on some of the time periods she covered. Pretty cool stuff.

an interesting read. very nice story telling, easy to read, lovely character. For me it becomes a bit mundane in the middle and from that point its hard to read through. Other that that I suppose it can be a good read for commute time.
