Roald Dahl is probably my favorite childhood author. Now I have read the story "The Hitch Hiker" online, and so I went on and bought the whole book. I must say that even now when I'm a little older - I simply love this man's writing! He was amazing, brilliant, he captures emotions and just like a painter, painted a picture. His characters are so vivid and lively, as if you are standing right there next to him. No doubt he is one of the great authors of the modern world, and of the 20th century.

“I think the reason I do not want to die is because of the things I hope will happen. Yes, that's right. I'm sure that's right. Point a revolver at a tramp, at a wet shivering tramp on the side of the road and say, "I'm going to shoot you", and he will cry, "Don't shoot. Please don't shoot." The tramp clings to life because of the things he hopes will happen.” 3 likes
