Rob Steiner's second novel, Aspect of Pale Night, is an excellent mystery thriller. I'd give it 4.5 stars, if I could.

The story revolves around Toni Dzielny, a tech blogger from Hamtramck, MI (a small city nestled within Detroit's city limits) and her fellow nerdy friends. While chilling on the sofa one night with her boyfriend, Dave, she gets a phone call from her ex asking if he can come over. This ticks off Dave, who leaves. But the ex never shows.
