I loved it, everything about it!

I loved the all the characters, so endearing, strong, loyal and compassionate. The plot was fast-paced, soooo very romantic and so hot.

Ian and Dani were so perfect for each other. Ian fought to keep his god away and avoid his painful past while Dani embraced her loss and cherished each of those moment. They learned and taught each other to move forward...like I said, romantic to a fault.

Ian is still reeling from his twin brother, Duncan’s, death and can no longer control the god inside him now that he no longer shares him with his twin. So he’s done the only thing he feels he can; he has taken himself far away from civilization so that if his god does take over, he won’t hurt anybody, or at least Ian hopes not.

Then, Ian hears the unmistakable sound of wyrran shrieks and discovers a group of the yellow monsters chasing a Druid, Danielle. He goes to her aid, but before he’s killed all of her attackers, she falls in the icy loch. He gets her out and takes her back to his cave with him and nurses her back to health and protects her.

When she awakes she tells him about a key she has found that is demanding she return it to the MacLeod Castle and so he reluctantly agrees to take her there. But once there the key insists that she wait. There is something off at the castle that many of the residents feel, and Danielle thinks this is why the key doesn’t want to be returned yet. There have been several newcomers to the castle recently so now it’s a matter of finding out who is causing the problem; who isn’t what they claim to be? And when Ian believes that he has lost control of his god again, he puts himself into lock-down making it impossible for him to save Danielle from the evil that lurks inside the castle walls.

I thought this installment of the series was pretty good. You do have some repetition from the first book to this one, such as the Warrior in question not being used to the current time and the female Druid convincing them to get new clothes and giving up their kilts for jeans. But once the storyline is set up that fades away and you get a completely different story than we read in Midnight’s Master. And, I thought this story was an improvement and it made me glad that I continued the series and I imagine the series will only continue to improve from here.

I really enjoyed Ian. I thought his torment with losing Duncan and struggling to gain control was understandable. I loved seeing the emotion between him and Danielle and seeing him willing to sacrifice his own freedom to keep her safe. Speaking of Danielle, I also enjoyed seeing a love interest that was just as interesting and strong as Ian is; he deserves that much.

I thought the sex scene through the prison bars was a bit unrealistic, but this book was again full of hot sex scenes which I’ve come to expect from Grant.

With all the talks of birth control from Danielle mentioning she forgot to have Ian use a condom, to the spell the women of MacLeod Castle use to prevent pregnancy, and all the mentions of why others have decided not to have kids, I thought for sure Danielle would end up conceiving (and my bet was on twins) so I was pretty surprised when it didn’t happen. I think it’s only a matter of time before there is another child on the way at MacLeod Castle, especially with the sex drives the Warriors possess.

Overall this was a fun and exciting read and I’m anxious to read the next, Midnight’s Seduction.

Due to a terrible loss at an early age Danielle was raised by an aunt that made sure she knew about most of her Druid heritage. This is a blessing in a way. Her ability (that she hates) would have been mighty confusing to a person who is unaware of the magic in the world. Her magical ability is about to turn her New Year’s Eve upside down and change her life forever. The worst night of Dani’s life is about to turn into the best thing that has ever happened, Ian.

Ian and Dani were perfect for each other. Her knowing of her Druid heritage allows for her to take in everything Ian is going to tell her. She also understands him more than he gives her credit for. Her openness to the magic allows for her to be more open to the feelings in her surroundings. The moment something is amiss she realizes it, while she may not know what it is she knows what it is not. Dani truly was exactly what Ian needed at this moment in his life.

I like villains, but I love a well-played villain. The fact that Declan and Dierdre have plans for each other is great. Readers are typically treated to good vs. evil. Donna has treated her readers to two vile individuals that have brought evil vs. evil to the pages. This is such a treat for me. I love the big evil for my literary treats to have large enough roles in what I am reading that I get page time with them. I enjoy reading from the villain’s point of view. I like to know what is going on with them other than the muddling up of the lives of the hero and heroine. Donna’s two villains are a pleasure for me and I am so looking forward to the moment when her sexy Warriors bring them down.

I have to admit even though I am not a reader of historical romance I am very curious about Duncan. I just may have to go back and read the Dark Sword books. Duncan and Ian seemed to have more than the typical twin relationship. They were each other’s rock. Even though I started reading these books after Duncan is gone I can still see how they relied on each other and he is missed terribly by his brother. All the heroes and heroines from the Dark Sword series have me more and more curious about those books.

In the meantime, both evil drough,Dierdre and Declan Wallace continue their plans to end the Warriors and take over the world. Their presence itself leaves a dark cloud hanging over everyone's world that the Warriors as well as the Druids need to eliminate.

The union of the Druids with the Warriors and an easy one. They have become one as the years have gone on and accepting of new Warriors as well as Druids. They still must remain hidden from the modern world as McLeod Castle is on no modern map and it's been hidden for centuries by Druid magic.

Will Ian be able to come to terms with his twins death and keep Farmire at bay. Will Danielle convince him he is no danger to her and he is a good man who deserves the love she wants to give? All of these questions are answered in Midnight's Lover by Donna Grant. Grab it as soon as you can.

Yes, I am a HUGE fan of the Dark Sword and now the Dark Warriors series. These characters have become family to me and I am invested in their outcomes. Midnight's Lover is now my favorite read so far. Donna Grant is so at home in this series, it's like a homecoming, a reunion with family and friends. Her writing only gets better and better. I am now waiting with bated breath for the next book, Midnight's Seduction to release. I believe that Donna Grant has definitely come into her own with this direction her series has taken and I thank her for such an amazing book.

I liked the story, didn't love it, just liked it. Ian gave me the warm and fuzzies but Dani had her stupid moments. The ending was very anticlimactic. I also wasn't too keen on the many different POVs the author tossed in. I can understand setting up future story lines and books but it was distracting to THIS story.

Out of all the Warriors in this series (and the Dark Swords), I have to say that I love Ian Kerr the best. There was just something so compelling about her character from the get-go and I found myself sympathizing with him as the book progressed.

Actually I give this one 3 and a half stars. I loved Ian & Dani. Ian was such a tormented soul after losing his brother Duncan and then having to battle their god all on his own. But Dani helped him keep in control over him. Like I said, I loved this story about Ian & Dani but it drove me nuts how Ian was in denial (the others too) about the fact that it was with Dani's help that he could keep his god in check........... and it went on for several pages!! Ok, over time you just keep reading a series as it grows and think ok, that wasn't so great but I know the characters and I will just keep reading anyway. Not so with this series. The twist of this series with it coming to the present has kept it new, fresh, and fun. I loved Logan's book, and was counting down the days to Ian. No disappointment here. This was a DNF for me. I kept reading and thought, "Why? You're not interested and you have 15 more books in your TBR pile." So, I stopped at page 223. There was nothing new or inventive. It's the usual paranormal group of men who have issues and the women who help them. Normally, this tired trope wouldn't stop me from reading, but I just felt nothing between or for Ian and Danielle (or any of the other characters).

It was nice to finally learn more about Ian in this book! Not to mention that the heroine, Dani, is full of life and tenacious! Reading about Ian's struggle with his god and his grief over losing his brother really brought home to me that Duncan is really dead! Sad day! I really loved this book and think that it is a nice addition to the series. Can't wait for the next one!

Ian's twin was killed and whilst he's overcome with rage and grief, he also had to control his god from taking over and being brought 400 years into the future. There was a lot of inner struggle but I liked how our modern day heroine Dani always believed in him, not just about the time travelling but that he'd never hurt her. This was about Ian a warrior and Danielle a druid who helps Ian take control of the beast/god within. It was book 2 and I really couldn't remember book 1 but the just of it was explained so I wasn't lost. Basically the warriors and the druids are fighting two evil druids through time. Lots of individual magical powers and individual warrior powers fighting evil.

Like I said, she could write a dummies book on painting drywall beige and it would be interesting. She has not disappointed with this installment either. The warriors are so lovable and the heroines kick ass. Add in accents, kilts and hot sex, and you can't put it down.

Love this series spinoff, cannot wait for more. Dani's connection to Ian was amazing. Her calming effect on his demon was great. I had real concerns for him after the death of his twin, Duncan. I am seeing a trend with the ability to sense a druids magic and finding love. Can not wait for more.

I loved this book. This book is the second in Donna Grants Dark Warrior series, and I won my copy from Goodreads Giveaways. This story follows the a theme that I really enjoy reading. The strong, handsome male lead that is dealing with some problem of self doubt and the female lead that he falls in love with who helps fix him. I loved the story of Dani and Ian and I can't wait to read book 3!
