Out of all the Warriors in this series (and the Dark Swords), I have to say that I love Ian Kerr the best. There was just something so compelling about her character from the get-go and I found myself sympathizing with him as the book progressed.

Ian has been isolated for centuries because he doesn’t have control over his god, Farmire. As the god of battle, Farmire is always trying to get Ian to engage in battle or at least start a battle so Ian is in a constant state of

An adventure-packed bewitching tale! Taken from my review at

At the age of twelve, Danielle ‘Dani’ Buchanan lost her parents. Watching their coffins sitting side by side, her heart hardened. Temporarily, she stayed with her best friend, but since she could not understand what Dani was going through, their friendship suffered. Then her Aunt Josie, who was her new guardian, came and took her to Scotland to live. Her aunt told her that she had magic within her like she did and th

Luckily, I got book two right away and could dive into Midnight's Lover without a break. I was super excited to actually get to Ian because I was worried. He's a warrior fighting his God for control - A task that he thinks is impossible... Man, I love Ian. Ian makes me weak.

Bring on Dani and the cutest first night scene ever. I mean, holy cow, when Ian rescues her and gets naked with her just so he can keep her warm... I mean... WOW, that scene was hot while

Donna Grant- "Midnight's Lover"

Ian Kerr is a fierce warrior, and he is trying to control the god within himself from taking over. Ian lost his twin brother to another warrior who was allied with his enemy Deidre. Ian has lost everything that is important to him, including the MacLeod's who are like family to him. Ian knows if he can not control the god within himself, that he will never have a family or someone to love.

While out hunting for dinner, Ian hears the shrieks of Deidre's Wyrran and

Donna Grant makes even a fierce, battle loving, blue god look sexy!

What I loved about this book... I hope you're sitting down this may take a while. This was my first book by Donna Grant. Why didn't anyone tell me what I was missing? As the hero in the second book in the Dark Warriors Series, Ian could not have been a better fit. He's big, he's hot and he's battling an internal demon that won't quit. Who doesn't love a slightly imperfect hero? Ian needs the strength and courage to beat his god a

Ian has such a heartbreaking beginning in this new time. Ian did not even have the time to mourn the loss of his brother before he was jerked from the life he knew and thrown four hundred years into the future, into a time he does not understand, into a place where he is all alone. Now he has to not only deal with the loss of his twin Duncan, but he must learn how to control the god within him at his full force all alone. Duncan and Ian had always shared their god. Oh, Ian just makes you want to ...more

Actually I give this one 3 and a half stars. I loved Ian & Dani. Ian was such a tormented soul after losing his brother Duncan and then having to battle their god all on his own. But Dani helped him keep in control over him. Like I said, I loved this story about Ian & Dani but it drove me nuts how Ian was in denial (the others too) about the fact that it was with Dani's help that he could keep his god in check........... and it went on for several pages!! And several more & so on. I ...more

I liked it. It was sad that both characters lost loved ones - Danielle: her parents were killed in a car crash at age 12; then, her father's sisters moved her from Florida to Scotland. There she was raised by her Aunt Josephine, who made her realize the fact that she was a Druid with powerful magic; then, her Aunt Josie died. Despite her job, her flatmates, she still felt alone; whereas, Ian, whose twin, Duncan, was murdered by Malcolm, one of Dierdre's henchman. Once Duncan was murdered, Ian ha ...more

Midnight’s Lover is a great book and I love the new series.

Danielle lost her parents at the age of twelve. She was then moved to Scotland with her father’s family. There she learns about her magic powers and how to use them from her Aunt Josie.

Ian is a immortal that had a twin brother named Duncan. They both had a god that got released inside of them and tries to take them over. With the bro

I loved it, everything about it!

I loved the all the characters, so endearing, strong, loyal and compassionate. The plot was fast-paced, soooo very romantic and so hot.

Ian and Dani were so perfect for each other. Ian fought to keep his god away and avoid his painful past while Dani embraced her loss and cherished each of those moment. They learned and taught each other to move I said, romantic to a fault.

It was nice to finally learn more about Ian in this book! Not to mention that the heroine, Dani, is full of life and tenacious! Reading about Ian's struggle with his god and his grief over losing his brother really brought home to me that Duncan is really dead! Sad day! I really loved this book and think that it is a nice addition to the series. Can't wait for the next one!

Enslaved by darkness. Freed by love.

Midnight's lover is Donna Grant's the second book of the Dark Warriors series; like its predecessor series, Dark Sword, I deeply enjoyed this story. This is an amazing book, again, like its predecessor; the plot is extremely interesting (again extending from Dark Sword), the theme original and cool, the setting is as enchanting as time, the mood thrilling on so many different levels, the irony too damn funny, the conflicts even more intense, and the characte

I love this book! Ian was absolutely adorable.. Not sure if that is what you want from a warrior but I don't care that's what he was. That first night in the cave with Dani, How freaking cute was that? VERY! He goes all god mode and is still fierce so that makes him the perfect warrior.. at least in my eyes. And Dani was pretty awesome too. Because she knew she was a druid and she knew about her magic, she accepted Ian and his world a lot quicker and some of the other girls. The love did happen ...more

Wow!!! I really really loved this book. In this case, the story from Danielle-Ian was utterly developed. Beautiful. Mesmerizing.
Ian seemed to me like a modern - actual - man (of course, he's a Warrior, but I felt like if you could actually find Ian on our modern world). What I liked most about Midnight's Lover was the characters, you could feel their emotions, their passion. And I must say that there were some - erotique- scenes that blew my mind.

Another spectacular read. Donna has yet to disappoint me with her books.

So in the last Dark Sword book set the stage for the introduction of the Dark Warrior series. Ian’s loss coupled with gaining his full god has sent her spiraling into grief and madness. Midnight’s Master everyone was looking for him… and Donna touched base with Ian.

Ian’s battling grief and control of his god when Danielle enters the picture. And it’s not “over night” that he gain’s control but Dani gives Ian the focus th

Ian is still reeling from his twin brother, Duncan’s, death and can no longer control the god inside him now that he no longer shares him with his twin. So he’s done the only thing he feels he can; he has taken himself far away from civilization so that if his god does take over, he won’t hurt anybody, or at least Ian hopes not.

Then, Ian hears the unmistakable sound of wyrran shrieks and discovers a group of the yellow monsters chasing a Druid,

Ok, over time you just keep reading a series as it grows and think ok, that wasn't so great but I know the characters and I will just keep reading anyway. Not so with this series. The twist of this series with it coming to the present has kept it new, fresh, and fun. I loved Logan's book, and was counting down the days to Ian. No disappointment here. Ian was great--in pain, vulnerable, strong, and oh so alpha man. I Loved Danielle, she was a nice change for a leading lady. She was strong and ope ...more

Fantastic Highlander romance

"Midnight's Lover" is another fantastic romance of Highlanders by Donna Grant!
As much as I loved her "Dark Sword" novels, this one is my favorite!
It's the dark and magical aventure of Highland Warrior Ian Keer, who time-travelled in the future and of Danielle Buchanan, who is a beautiful woman that feels, inside her blood veins, the Druid's magic. Together, they will try to fight evil. Again, Deirdre and Declan still lurk around and plot

"Midnight's Lover" by Donna Grant. Book 2 in the Dark Warriors series.

Really enjoyed Ian and Danielle's story. As always, Ms. Grant's writing is excellent. The descriptions of the scenes throughout the books are always so vivid and beautiful, you can picture the scene very easily. The relationship between Ian and Danielle is very well done, a very good match.

This was again a very good series. And I loved the fact that it started with the Dark Swords. Now I will probably look at the Dark Kings.
Have to confess though that I was just a little upset with Malcolm’s woman. If you look at the series, the women became more… naïve (by lack of a better description), as the centuries went on. She did improve though; have to give her credits for that.
I don’t think I can really pic one character or couple who captured me. They all have that special something for

A silly sort of read. Mostly fast paced and entertaining this book felt a bit like watching a classic Power Rangers episode. In fact, I painted the antagonists in this story as the bad-guys from Power Rangers. It made it rather enjoyable. It was great as a palate cleanser and has helped to prepare my mind for more serious literature fare. (I wonder if Kenyon will go for this one next *cheeky monkey*)

This one is better than the first. Dani has strong powers and Ian's gid is difficult to control. Ian is tormented by his brother's loss, as well as issues about Farmire and Dani. Dani is able to help him gain control. The Dungeon scenes remind me a lot of Gareth Macrieve in the IAD series by Kresley Cole.
