I loved it, everything about it!

I loved the all the characters, so endearing, strong, loyal and compassionate. The plot was fast-paced, soooo very romantic and so hot.

Ian and Dani were so perfect for each other. Ian fought to keep his god away and avoid his painful past while Dani embraced her loss and cherished each of those moment. They learned and taught each other to move forward...like I said, romantic to a fault.

Spoilers Ahead!

Ian is still reeling from his twin brother, Duncan’s, death and can no longer control the god inside him now that he no longer shares him with his twin. So he’s done the only thing he feels he can; he has taken himself far away from civilization so that if his god does take over, he won’t hurt anybody, or at least Ian hopes not.

Then, Ian hears the unmistakable sound of wyrran shrieks and discovers a group of the yellow monsters chasing a Druid,...more

Donna Grant makes even a fierce, battle loving, blue god look sexy!

What I loved about this book... I hope you're sitting down this may take a while. This was my first book by Donna Grant. Why didn't anyone tell me what I was missing? As the hero in the second book in the Dark Warriors Series, Ian could not have been a better fit. He's big, he's hot and he's battling an internal demon that won't quit. Who doesn't love a slightly imperfect hero? Ian needs the strength and courage to beat his god a...more

An adventure-packed bewitching tale! Taken from my review at RomanceJunkies.com:

At the age of twelve, Danielle ‘Dani’ Buchanan lost her parents. Watching their coffins sitting side by side, her heart hardened. Temporarily, she stayed with her best friend, but since she could not understand what Dani was going through, their friendship suffered. Then her Aunt Josie, who was her new guardian, came and took her to Scotland to live. Her aunt told her that she had magic within her like she did and th...more

Ian has such a heartbreaking beginning in this new time. Ian did not even have the time to mourn the loss of his brother before he was jerked from the life he knew and thrown four hundred years into the future, into a time he does not understand, into a place where he is all alone. Now he has to not only deal with the loss of his twin Duncan, but he must learn how to control the god within him at his full force all alone. Duncan and Ian had always shared their god. Oh, Ian just makes you want to...more

Another spectacular read. Donna has yet to disappoint me with her books.

So in the last Dark Sword book set the stage for the introduction of the Dark Warrior series. Ian’s loss coupled with gaining his full god has sent her spiraling into grief and madness. Midnight’s Master everyone was looking for him… and Donna touched base with Ian.

Ian’s battling grief and control of his god when Danielle enters the picture. And it’s not “over night” that he gain’s control but Dani gives Ian the focus th...more

Ian Kerr, thrust into future when the evil drough, Dierdre gets taken into the 21st Century, has been hiding in a cave in the highlands of Scotland for some time. Struggling with his god, Farmire, the god of battle, no less, after his twin, Duncan was murdered by Malcolm at Dierdre's behest. Ian feels he is no company for anyone. He begins to "talk" to Duncan and can't decide whether it actually is Duncan speaking to him or if he is going mad.

Danielle Buchanan lost her parents in a car accident and goes to live with her aunts in Scotland. Her aunt Josie told her she was a druid and teaches her how to use her magic. Her magic is if she finds an item she has to find its owner, or she gets sick with headaches until she finds its rightful owner. Danielle finds an old key and it leads her in a snow storm to Macleod’s castle. On the way she meets Ian Kerr a warrior from MacLeod’s castle. Danielle gets Ian to help her and the story tells of...more

I liked the story, didn't love it, just liked it. Ian gave me the warm and fuzzies but Dani had her stupid moments. The ending was very anticlimactic. I also wasn't too keen on the many different POVs the author tossed in. I can understand setting up future story lines and books but it was distracting to THIS story.

I HATED the narrator. No joking halfway through the book she forgot Dani had an accent. WTF!! I've said it before and I'll say it again. Highlander books MUST be narrated by men. It w...more

Another 5 STARS for Donna Grant
Fantastic Highlander romance

"Midnight's Lover" is another fantastic romance of Highlanders by Donna Grant!
As much as I loved her "Dark Sword" novels, this one is my favorite!
It's the dark and magical aventure of Highland Warrior Ian Keer, who time-travelled in the future and of Danielle Buchanan, who is a beautiful woman that feels, inside her blood veins, the Druid's magic. Together, they will try to fight evil. Again, Deirdre and Declan still lurk around and plot...more

If you had read the Midnight's Master, you would already notice the pattern of this whole series--warriors who stand to protect the druids from Declan Wallace and Deidre who intended to rule the world with the help of black magic. This book was about the fate of Danielle Buchanan--who was orphaned at the age of twelve and raised by her dad's relatives in Scotland from United States--and Ian Kerr--a warrior who time-traveled from the past to present when Declan Wallace brought evil Deidre to pres...more

Out of all the Warriors in this series (and the Dark Swords), I have to say that I love Ian Kerr the best. There was just something so compelling about her character from the get-go and I found myself sympathizing with him as the book progressed.

Ian has been isolated for centuries because he doesn’t have control over his god, Farmire. As the god of battle, Farmire is always trying to get Ian to engage in battle or at least start a battle so Ian is in a constant state of...more

Actually I give this one 3 and a half stars. I loved Ian & Dani. Ian was such a tormented soul after losing his brother Duncan and then having to battle their god all on his own. But Dani helped him keep in control over him. Like I said, I loved this story about Ian & Dani but it drove me nuts how Ian was in denial (the others too) about the fact that it was with Dani's help that he could keep his god in check........... and it went on for several pages!! And several more & so on. I...more

Danielle Buchanan was twelve when she lost her parents and moved from the only life she had ever known in Florida to Scotland to live with her aunt's. Danielle had no idea when finding her Aunt Josie and her magic that 14 years later she would also find her destiny.

Ian Kerr has been through a lot and now trying to keep control of his god Farmire has found Ian hiding in a cave trying to protect everyone he loves.

Ian is about to make choices and be forced to fight for total control of his god wh...more

Ok, over time you just keep reading a series as it grows and think ok, that wasn't so great but I know the characters and I will just keep reading anyway. Not so with this series. The twist of this series with it coming to the present has kept it new, fresh, and fun. I loved Logan's book, and was counting down the days to Ian. No disappointment here. Ian was great--in pain, vulnerable, strong, and oh so alpha man. I Loved Danielle, she was a nice change for a leading lady. She was strong and ope...more

This was a DNF for me. I kept reading and thought, "Why? You're not interested and you have 15 more books in your TBR pile." So, I stopped at page 223. There was nothing new or inventive. It's the usual paranormal group of men who have issues and the women who help them. Normally, this tired trope wouldn't stop me from reading, but I just felt nothing between or for Ian and Danielle (or any of the other characters).

It was nice to finally learn more about Ian in this book! Not to mention that the heroine, Dani, is full of life and tenacious! Reading about Ian's struggle with his god and his grief over losing his brother really brought home to me that Duncan is really dead! Sad day! I really loved this book and think that it is a nice addition to the series. Can't wait for the next one!

Ian's twin was killed and whilst he's overcome with rage and grief, he also had to control his god from taking over and being brought 400 years into the future. There was a lot of inner struggle but I liked how our modern day heroine Dani always believed in him, not just about the time travelling but that he'd never hurt her. Another good story from the series.

Isn't the cover of a book the first thing that meets the eye, makes an impression and tickles our interest? Had I not known about Donna Grant's talent as a paranormal, dark fantasy, historical etc. romance writer, I would have dropped my eyes on this book anyway, on the whole Dark Warriors Series for that matter...5 stars rating on the cover art!
Denise
This was about Ian a warrior and Danielle a druid who helps Ian take control of the beast/god within. It was book 2 and I really couldn't remember book 1 but the just of it was explained so I wasn't lost. Basically the warriors and the druids are fighting two evil druids through time. Lots of individual magical powers and individual warrior powers fighting evil.

After reading from beginning to end without more then little breaks to grab a tissue , or grab some food I read through the night and into the next day could NOT put this book down.

I invite you to come along for the time of your life. You will I am sure fall in love with both Ian Kerr (warrior, highlander and part god )and the beautiful Danielle Buchanan whose magic (Druid blood in her veins) meet in the most incredible circumstances .

While battling for control of his god Farmire now that his twin Duncan is dead, and grieving the loss of his twin Ian Kerr rescued druid Danielle Bucvhanan who is lost in a snow storm and chased by wyrran. He takes her to the MacLeods so she can give them a keey that opens the Tablet of Orn that found her and demanded to be taken to them. Once there she must wait until the evil there (Charlie-Deirdre &? Kirstin-Declan) is dealt with.
Donna
Like I said, she could write a dummies book on painting drywall beige and it would be interesting. She has not disappointed with this installment either. The warriors are so lovable and the heroines kick ass. Add in accents, kilts and hot sex, and you can't put it down.

Love this series spinoff, cannot wait for more. Dani's connection to Ian was amazing. Her calming effect on his demon was great. I had real concerns for him after the death of his twin, Duncan. I am seeing a trend with the ability to sense a druids magic and finding love. Can not wait for more.

I love love love this book. I am so happy Ian found his way back. My biggest problem with this book. It needs to be about 8oo pages longer. I had it done in a Day.. Now what do I do, besides wait for the the next one.

I loved this book. This book is the second in Donna Grants Dark Warrior series, and I won my copy from Goodreads Giveaways. This story follows the a theme that I really enjoy reading. The strong, handsome male lead that is dealing with some problem of self doubt and the female lead that he falls in love with who helps fix him. I loved the story of Dani and Ian and I can't wait to read book 3!
April
Loved this book waited so very long for his very own book, and I was not disappointed.
