I loved it - witty dialogue, complex world [particularly for a novella length work], and great characters with a relationship driven plot. Imagine a world with large numbers of supernaturals - various types of shifters, vampires, and fae are mentioned - plus a little human glue. Since there seem to be few sexual barriers, no one worries about the gender or number of partners. Sex is about sexual attraction to people, not about what race or species they are, what gender they are or what the numbe ...more

I was really, REALLY disappointed in this book. I love books about shifters and books about menage. Kryssa is a dragon-shifter, Xander is Fae and Caleb is a cross between an avian-shifter and a dragon-shifter. I had such high hopes for this since so many shifter books are about wolves, but this one just really fell flat for me. First of all, the sex scenes were really disappointing and fell flat. I don't know if they were meant to be PG-13 or what, but in the one (ONE!) and only menage scene, yo ...more

There were things about this novella I liked and others I didn't like. Starting with what I did like, I really enjoyed the character development. Despite the length of the book, I really felt like I knew the motivations of each character and I really felt like I understood the depth of feelings they had for one another. I also liked how the relationships developed from the beginning to the end, and it wasn't this instantaneous declaration of love and lust. I also liked the world building, althou ...more

This was the most characterful novella I've ever read. In a time when menages and shifters are fairly common, Xander, fae-blooded is in love with Caleb, an avian shifter and they both love Kryssa, a Dragonshifter.

Kryssa is a powerhouse in the office, working 20 hour days, 7 days a week. Xander, a chef, co-owner of the Deli across the street, has been delivering her lunch for 2 yrs and staying to charm her with 2-3 lunch breaks every day. Following her breakup with her Ex she vowed to take 5 yrs

I'm not zen enough for this book. Everyone is all self-actualized and shit, which means they talk a lot.

I'm sad that this one just didn't do it for me. I liked the idea behind it, but unfortunately it just didn't meet my expectations. I thought that the characters personalities came through and the world she created was interesting, but in the same aspect I felt like I was missing stuff a lot of the time as well. That said, I've never seen a book this short need a glossary of terms before. I would have rather seen either the story be less complicated, or be given more explanations to the terms tha ...more

I have to say that the only reason this book crossed my conscious was that I needed an author with the letter X for a challenge. With that being said I went into this one with low expectations, not really knowing what to expect.

I found that I really liked the world that the book was set in. I liked the different shifters and how they acted. I really liked the idea of bonded siblings and I really liked how each person saw love, not the gender of the person, and how each of them strove to create

Umm, Well to begin with the things I liked... I liked the story and the characters. However, there was a huge lack of world building. It was very hard to follow what was going on because the world the author was trying to create just fell flat. It is a interesting premise but having to figure out what certain things are and trying to enjoy the story and characters just gave me a headache. I was just not given enough information about the race of people involved. It made it very hard to enjoy. I ...more

Ok - not enough and not descriptive sexin' :( - it's supposed to be a mmf menage, for pete's sake.

This is the second book I've read by this author in the Therian world. There were some humorous lines and I did like the world building and our characters, Kryssa (who wants to eat incompetents or throw them out the winder and wonders if HR can make her take another Anger Management course while on sabbatical) Xander and Caleb but don't think I'm going to try more from this author - just have too

I enjoyed that this story had different paranormal species - mixed breed - avian/dragon/vampire, part fae and full dragon.

Engrossing, hard to put down. Good, lots of intelligent and funny dialogue, intriguing world-building, yet I felt unsatisfied at the end, too many details that I didn't understand.

Xakara is a new transplant to beautiful New Mexico. She lives overlooking the Sandia mountains with her long time sweetie and a handful of friends that are like family. Never found anywhere without a book to read or a notebook to write in; she knew she'd be an author at nine years old when someone missed one of the daily installments of the stories she told on the playground and told her to write ...more
