Daniel Coleman is the middle of 6 boys. The middle child, he has always been the calmest of all the Coleman brothers. That is, until he meets Beth at a bar and the chemistry between them explodes. When she gives him a fake number, he is upset to think that he may never see her again. When she turns up at the ranch with 3 adorable boys in tow, it’s an opportunity that he isn’t going to pass up. Problem is, Beth has been badly burned and getting past those barriers is going to be tough. He manages to convince her that the chemistry between them is too hot to ignore and they start a blazing sexual adventure. Daniel doesn’t want Beth just for the sex, but can he convince her to let herself feel once again?

Oh my, this book is HAWT!!! Considering Beth had only had sex with her AHole of a husband in the missionary position before, she certainly didn’t balk at the kinkier side of Daniel. There is sex in the barn, sex in the changing room and, my personal favourite, the hottest darn phone sex scene I’ve read in a book before! Seriously, it was unbelievable how hot it was….that Daniel is a *VERY* dirty boy. One of the best things about this book is the lack of external angst. There is so much hurt and trauma in the past of Beth, I didn’t need side characters to divert away from the core of a very emotional love story.

Beth is a character with so much emotional baggage I was surprised she managed to function at all. The things that she suffered were horrific to read about but even worse for me was that the boys knew everything that she went through at the hands of a man she trusted. I make no bones about the fact that I cried TWICE at this book and both scenes were to do with her children. I wanted her to let Daniel in, wanted her to use him as more than just a sex-toy because they both deserved to be happy. The problem was that if she lets him into her heart, she lets him into the heart of her children and these were some very traumatised boys. I understand the fierce urge to protect them from more hurt, I understand that she was willing to sacrifice her happiness for that of her children but God I hoped she decided he was worth that risk.

Daniel was a cowboy to die for. He was so lovely that I couldn’t fathom an ending to this story where he wasn’t happy. He is a very dirty boy and makes no bones that he has a sexual history that reads like a phone book. However, he has never fallen before, never felt the overwhelming desire to focus all his attention on just one woman until he met Beth. Now everything is different. He understands all of her issues, understands all of her hesitations and he tries not to push, he just tells her how he feels and lets her decide.

“I find you attractive, and I don’t just mean your body. I don’t know what troubles you’ve had in your past, but I hope we’ll get to talk them through at some point. So here’s what I suggest –you tell me if you agree. You and I do both. We fool around like you want, as long as you let us try to let us try to learn to be friends, like I want.”

He deserved to be happy, deserved to have his own hurts healed but I didn’t know if that would ever happen with Beth.

This book is a story about a woman who has given up on love and a Cowboy that wants to be her one and only. There were parts of this book so hot I had to stick my head in the fridge but it was just so much more than just sex. With parts that made me laugh, cry and use a fan, it’s definitely a book that is going on my keeper shelf.

Loved it! But then again, I've yet to read anything from Vivian I did not enjoy. Such a great, well written, complete, romantic and emotional read that I was sad to see come to an end.

A fantastic second book in the 6 Pack Ranch series. I really enjoyed book 1, but think this one might have even been better. I'm disappointed book 3 won't be out for another few weeks and even more disappointed that I'll have to wait even longer for the rest.

Rocky Mountain Haven is a delightfully written erotic romance that will have readers wanting more from Vivian Arend. The writing is superb; Ms. Arend uses the point of view of both of her main characters to portray the developing feelings of each. Ms. Arend’s use of genuine and realistic dialogue keeps readers emerged in this story of fated lovers. The love scenes were written with exacting detail that left me feeling hot and flustered. Ms. Arend writes love scenes that are sweet and still very erotic. I really liked Ms. Arend's writing style; this story flowed so smoothly that when I reached the end I was left feeling content and pleased with the outcome.

This series had me hooked when I discovered that the setting was a place I am familiar with and this doesn’t normally happen for me. I found that Ms. Arend stayed true to the area with her descriptions and the reality of the surrounding areas and the need to travel outside the small town of Rocky Mountain House. Ms. Arend did a fabulous job of keeping it real, I felt like if I jumped in my car and drove to Rocky I could see this story play out in front of me.

For those readers who like stories with cowboys, hot love scenes and emotional writing I suggest you start reading this series, you will absolutely love it. Vivian Arend has brought together all of these things plus a slice of Canada to her readers and you do not want to miss it. I cannot wait for the next in this series!

Oh My! I was hoping this book was every bit as good as the first one. I have to say that it was not, it was even better, This story absolutely WOWED me.

This of course was book 2 in the series and it revolves around Daniel. I LOVED everything about Daniel and the way he treated the heroine Beth and her children.

Rocky Mountain Haven is a truly great addition to the 6 Pack Ranch series. The opening scene where Beth and Daniel meet in a bar and have instant chemistry was fabulous but I really liked how Vivian did not make it too easy for the relationship to start. After a few weeks, Beth is at a town celebration with her boys and run into some of the other Colemans and the handsome stranger she met in the bar months ago. It was a great tension-filled scene.

I was worried about who Daniel would find to love him after learning in Rocky Mountain Heat that his last girlfriend Sierra dumped him because he was shooting blanks. Sierra may have been an idiot but it works out because Beth is perfect for him since she already has three boys. Of course, there is more to their story that makes this book great to read.

I also loved how Daniel stood up for what he wanted in the relationship that Beth and Daniel are trying to have. Beth thinks all she wants is someone hot in the sheets. Most guys would jump at sex with no strings but I was happy Daniel didn’t. He wants a friendship with Beth too and he wasn’t going to let her pull his chain like a dog. I think it made there relationship stronger as it grew that both were very honest with each other. I like how there relationship changed and grew deeper over months they spent with the two of them and the boys. Nathan, Robbie and Lance are truly lovable kids that all play important parts in this book.

The Coleman’s are a great family. I liked that Vivian wrote from Gabe’s point of view a few times for it made the story have more dimensions. I also was glad with what happened for Matt even though he might not agree at this point but I am sure Vivian has plans for him. I would recommend this book and can’t wait to read more of the series.

When he gets killed in a horrific car accident of which she was driving the auto in question...she feels relieved, like the weight of oppression has finally been lifted off of her and her boys. She is a mother to three sons, all under the age of 9 years, and also a math teacher...of which she had never gotten to teach before, as her husband didn't want her out of the house, but home and under his thumb.

After her husband's death, she decides to move away to another town and seeks a fresh start for her and her three boys, but not before going out one evening with her sister Darlene. This is where she encounters the Coleman twins, Jesse and Joel and also Daniel Coleman. Sparks fly immediately between her and Daniel and before she knows it she is caught up in a very passionate embrace and kissing him for all she is worth. Beth has to prove to herself that she is desirable and not just a fixture to be abused, as her husband has treated her for 10 years, but is afraid to venture down the path of letting go, and trusting another man after so many years of heart wrenching agony that she and her three boys have had to live with. She decides that evening that she can't get involved and it is for the better as she is moving in a few weeks.

She moves to Rocky and realizes the Apartment complex she has rented for her and the boys was burned down and with the help of the kindly gentleman who was the manager he helps her find a house to rent out on a Ranch, called the Peter's house. Low and behold after moving in and being there for awhile, she is invited up to dinner at the main house on the Ranch and who does she run into there, but the twins, and Daniel Coleman. The house she is renting is part of 6 Pack Ranch. Beth feels bad for moving from her previous town and not calling Daniel, but when she sees him again she becomes anxious to explain herself and the sparks are still there. She just isn't sure of how to proceed now.

Daniel is patient and kind and giving. He sees something in her beyond her exterior and he wants to know more about her. He is drawn to her, like a moth to a flame, but she is still closed off and protective of her heart and her three sons. She hadn't expected to see him again, and she certainly isn't used to be treated and adored like Daniel does with her. They know they are attracted to each other, and she wants to have sex with him, as she has only had missionary style... unsatisfactory sex...ever, but she is afraid of revealing her past and being hurt again.

Even when Daniel finds out she has three boys he still wants to know her, and more about her.

Wow when the romance and sexing start with the two of them it is very slow to boil. The first couple of orgasms she has he has barely touched her. She is hungry to have and experience everything she can with him, as she was only an object to her husband, and dare I say she had never had a orgasm with him, but that changes very fast once Daniel and her take their friendship a bit further. Their first time is in a changing room at the community pool and the wall-sex blew her mind. After that she gets bolder and open to MORE, and more they do. One evening at the cabin that Jaxi and Blake live in, they go there to have some intimate time away from the boys, and she gets to give, and experience more in that evening than in her whole life previous to this time. You name it, and they did it...and it included, oral, anal, and toys.

The best part was that despite all her past abuse and distrust of men, Daniel was so patient with her and really wanted to do right by her and the boys. He wants her and the boys. Alot of men wouldn't want to commit to a woman with three children that had been abused like her, but he is able to really look at her and see her for who she is. Beth begins to blossom like a rose opening up to the morning Sun, and it is because she is able to finally be herself and trust Daniel that she then lets herself fall in love with him.

The other amazing thing that I loved with this story is that not only Beth and Daniel find each other and fall in love, but Daniel will be able to be a father. He had mumps and isn't able to father children biologically speaking so not only is Beth herself a blessing to him, but so are the three boys. So Daniel is getting the love and family that he so desires to add to the Coleman clan and Beth will have the love and adoration she never had, but always wanted with great passion and sex...plus a real father for her sons.

Nice story with a nice HEA!

I liked this even better than book 1. While we still get glimpses into the Coleman family life, I felt like more of the focus was on the hero and heroine here.

I really adored Daniel and Beth. Daniel was almost too good to be true - understanding, sweet, loving. But somehow, he wasn't boring because of that. He was interesting. And exciting. And sigh-worthy. And the way he handled Beth's kids? Full of win.

The first half of this book was hot. But then the last half sort of dragged for me - the pace of the story seemed slower as the hero and heroine settled into their relationship and became friends (as well as lovers).

I'm not sure if it was just the way the Kindle version was formatted, but the jumps in days/weeks was a little confusing since there was no distinguishing break between one paragraph and another that suddenly had you two weeks later in the story.

Finished last night and omg, I don't know where to start... I loved this book so hard!

Beth is an abused widow and mom of 3 who's determined to take back control of her life and her sexuality. While out for a night-on-the-town with her sister, she meets one incredibly hot cowboy. They experience a connection but Beth leaves with the intention of never seeing him again.

I was given this book for my completely honest thoughts and words... So here goes!

This is not to be considered a short book by page numbers. Coming in around 250 pages... but when you start this book, you will want to finish it! I am a fan of Ms. Vivian's work and I did read book one and review it (here). And to say that I want more on those Coleman boys is an understatement.

This is one family that I would really like to be a part of... Six boys.. Okay, correction.. Six grown, hot, delicious, wrangler wearing, hot bodies, smooth sweet talking gentleman! They each have their own identity, their own history and their own heart of gold... and passion! Let's not forget that! Ms. Arend is crafting these stories in such a way that the whole family is included, which is nice. She is entwining them to where the family is in the background and not over shadowing the main storyline... but keeping you centered that this is all about family.

This story threw me for a curve because it has children in it... And this story really shook me up a bit because of Beth's past. That woman is a woman after my own heart... Beth is a mother of three adorable boys. They are so full of life and just want to be the "man" for their mom. It is so heartwarming to see these three included in the story and to see that Daniel's concern is for them. It is refreshing to see that children really matter. Anyway... Beth is a woman who's past haunts her every day... And she sees the reminder of her past in her boys glances, in their demeanor. She wanted a fresh start... A new beginning... For her and the boys.. She wanted control over her life and her future! That was until she met tall, dark and handsome Daniel Coleman. Would he be the one to change her world... In a forever kinda way??

Daniel is the middle son of the Six Pack Coleman boys (men). He is the sensible one, the one all look to for help with something. He never thought of himself as the settling down type... Especially after what his ex put him through, but we all have demons to fight. Daniel wins my admiration because he is not a victim of is circumstances. He perseveres through life, love and heartache. He has a kind and gentle soul, but oh damn does this man have one soul that burns with passion. He was not sure what the future held for him... But when he meets Beth... His whole world is thrown for a loop!

These two together melt my heart. Their coming together, in more than one way, is sooooo awe touching that it makes your heart sing. This is refreshing take on how families come together and become one. It was difficult to hear the past come out and see the tears and hurt. Watching Beth and Daniel expose themselves to each other was raw, but it made the story so much richer for it.

Then throw in the rest of the Coleman, and this story turned out to be on Hell'va Ride to Haven!
Ms. Arend, you did it yet again! The crew came together for each other when they needed a shoulder to lean on or a hand to hold. They welcome the new comers of the family with open arms. This is such a wonderful, delightful adventure with these Coleman's! I am definitely looking for more to come!

Unlike Rocky Mountain Heat, the first novel of Vivian Arend’s Six Pack Ranch series, Rocky Mountain Haven is far more focused on the relationship of the heroine and hero, which was necessary given their complexities. When Daniel discovers Beth is living next door with her 3 young boys, he wastes no time in pursuing what ignited between them in that Calgary bar. What is wonderful and heartwarming is that he shows her compassion and understanding. In Daniel, Arend crafts a handsome, honorable alpha male, who shows remarkable maturity and intelligence. Daniel recognizes Beth is suffering and working through many issues, a good mother who is very sensitive to her sons needs. Arend develops their special love story over the course of the novel, along with forging a relationship between Daniel and Beth’s 3 young boys. There is one particularly emotional scene near the end where Daniel has a heart-to-heart talk with 7-year-old Nathan concerning his father that brought tears to my eyes.

Beth’s ability to trust and begin to enjoy living a full life also shines through. She has a teaching position at the local high school, she begins to socialize, not only with Daniel but also the close knit Colemans. She also learns the joy and value of having a circle of female friends in the Coleman women for the first time in her adult life. Moreover, Daniel and Beth are able to share their sense of loss and pain regarding a particularly sensitive medical issue. Beth is a woman with deep, painful secrets which she reveals to Daniel as their relationship strengthens.

This story isn’t all serious and emotional, Arend’s signature wit permeates the narrative, the dialogue and thoughtful introspection is fitting for the novel’s setting and demographic. And, of course you get smoking hot love scenes as Daniel nurtures Beth allowing her to explore her sensual nature for the first time in her life. Arend doesn’t shy away from penning kink into the love scenes of her erotic romances, this one is no exception. ;)

There is a sub-plot involving Coleman cousin Gabe who is at the crossroads of his life and deciding how best to move forward. Gabe was introduced in Rocky Mountain Heat and Vivian Arend appears to be building his story over the course of the series. I really like Gabe and look forward to seeing where the author takes him next.

Rocky Mountain Haven offers readers a heartwarming story of a second chance at love set in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. I read this one in one sitting and enjoyed every minute. Coleman brother Matt’s story, Rocky Mountain Desire will be released next and I’m so looking forward to reading his story! :)

What I liked about this book was the ongoing family that are the Coleman's, they're just so warm and all encompassing of others and one another. There are lots of sexy as hell men in the extended Coleman family, and I for one can't wait for Gabe and Matt (Helen is such a bitch) to get their respective stories. I have never met a 25 year old guy with such sage advice and wisdom. The sexual encounters were pretty hot, I loved the way Daniel called Beth "Miss Beth", mmm. However, it seems I am in the minority, I just preferred the heat between Blake and Jaxi in book 1 more. The growing relationship between Daniel and Beth's boys was endearing, the adults made sure they took their time for the boys to get comfortable, that was nice.

What I didn't like so much. I just couldn't quite warm to Beth, although nice enough, she just didn't grab me like I hoped she would. Once again Jaxi, to me, was a better character. Jaxi was feisty and sure and went for what she wanted, she was interesting, Beth was bland. I missed the bigger character picture that book 1 painted as well. The other dislike was the timeline of this book, it just jumped. One minute Beth and the boys were looking for somewhere (else) to live in Rocky and then, voila in the next sentence, they were moved in and it was several months later and they were at a fair? I found myself flipping back through my Kindle to see if I missed something, but no. Then in the blink of an eye it jumped from New Years Eve to Valentine's day with no lead in again. Editing problems affected the flow.

All in all this is another good adition to the series, and I enjoyed this book but my heart still preferred book 1 and Blake and Jaxi. I do look forward to the next installment as the Coleman clan make for interesting reading. (less)

First I need to ask, I’m Canadian and I’d like know where these Canadian cowboys are hiding? This book was recommended to me because I am a fan of Loralei James’ Rough Rider series. Although I didn’t like them quite as much as the Rough Riders, it was close.

The story was alright until it got the the really sappy part(chapter 14). It fealt like a Hallmark movie story. Where the two main characters gush all over each other. Where they face her past problems and the guy is just nuts for the girl and everything is hunky dory. And she avoided him at start but quickly comes to get to close to him way to soon.

I cleared some time and dove in to Rocky Mountain Haven. Yet again I haven't read the original and I don't need to. I loved this story how it is now.

Huh I've read two vivian Arends books before Turn It Up and Turn it On and I didn't like them all that much but I decided to give these a try...And I'm glad I did for this book was actually really good....

The sex was HOT but then again that was not the problem with the turner twins book I just felt like there was no feelings in those books but I don't feel like that about this one...

I loved this book! Rocky Mountain Haven is book #2 in the Six Pack Ranch series by Vivian Arend and boy was it a good one. Ms. Arend was not only able to write a great story around a very sensitive issue, but boy did she write some super hot sex scenes. Heck, I think the phone sex alone made me squirmy.

Second book in this series and now we have Daniel Coleman story to follow and I loved how he dialed with her fears and helped her handle the new life and still raise her kids.

Daniel is not so happy with the farmers life as his brothers and uses more his time with the Colemans other business, build furniture and sell custom made pieces.

He’s trying to change and find a way to be happy fulfilling his dreams, but is also a bit afraid of this new project and how to handle everything by himself.
