Lola James has a way to keep me smiling all throughout her stories. Bound to Remember is a fun read filled with mystery, sexual tension, a vampire and Greek Gods.
At first I thought that this was going to be another hot vampire falls I love with a human and they have obstacles to overcome story. Boy was I wrong! Turns out the human has issues that the vampire wasn't aware of.
Bound to Remember is full of excitement and organized chaos that kept the story entertaining and fun to read. The twist a...more

There are so many vampire stories out there. At first they began to blend all together. Now, I’m pleasantly surprised to see many authors taking different twists on the old stories and giving readers something new and entertaining. Lola James has done just that with her Bound to Remember book.

A young doctor finds herself strangely attracted to a new nurse. Immediately, strange things start happening as Toni feels herself unexplainably drawn to Ben. The more she learns, the more confused everythi...more

Bound To Remember is Lola James first novel, and it’s a good one. She weaves a clever and flirty tale between a doctor, Antonia Nikos and a male nurse, Benjamin Slaton who is also a debonair vampire. Both feel an instant attraction to one another and come to realize they’re far more connected than either of them realize as their worlds collide.
I enjoyed this cute and fanciful tale in a few hours, so if you’re looking for an epic paranormal romance, this is not your book. The plot, while not over...more

Ok, so I will admit that I was a little iffy about reading this book at first. I never really heard anything about this book or author but after trying the sample on my kindle I immediatley bought it and don't regret it.
It is fast paced leaving you reading it from start to finish. Its about a young resident Dr. Toni Hollander who gets assigned a new night shift nurse named Ben who happens to be one sexy nurse. There is of course the hot ex who works with them as well and doesnt want to be with...more

Bound to Remember by Lola James

Rating 4****

This book was provided from the author for honest literary review.

Toni is in the middle of Tue grueling days of ER rotation in medical school. The ones where you sacrifice any outside life in order to be a slave towards tour degree. In fact, nothing exciting ever happened to her until Ben walked in.
Instantly taken with the sexy male nurse, Toni realizes that Ben is harboring some deep, dark secrets.
In fact, several of the things around her are not as...more

This book was another self-publishing nightmare for me. The premise of the story is more than a little overdone, but solid. The characters were likable enough, even if the hero's proper use of English left me reading his sentences as if he were Ferris' monotone teacher calling role in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Still, I felt at the beginning that it could have been a very pleasant, soak-in-a-bath fluffy read, had it not been for the over abundance of grammatical, spelling, and even typographica...more

This is a very quick read with it's primary focus on vampires and witches. The main character, Toni, appears to be a human who is a doctor. She is paired early on with a new nurse in the ER and asked to teach him the ropes. Benjamin, also called Nurse Hero, is obviously interested in Toni and has an air of mystery surrounded him. However, he makes a mistake and asks Toni to stay the night at his house. If you have read anything about vampires, you will recognize him as a vampire pretty quickly,...more

This was a good read. It held my attention from beginning to end. Even though there were parts of the book that reminded me of other books that I have read recently, it was still unique in its own way. Every time I thought I had it figured out and knew what was going to happen I would get thrown a curve ball and left wondering what was next.

I fell in love right off with the character Benjamin Slaton. The way the author describes him the first time he is introduced in the book, I was thinking he...more

This is the first book I've read of Lola's. I really don't know how to feel about this book to be completely honest. I felt no connection to the characters because I felt they weren't quite developed enough and felt overall that the story was very elementary and amateur at times. It was choppy and the dialogue between the characters was lacking. I noticed a lot of run on sentences, and errors and with being an English major it bothered me which took away from me getting totally involved in the s...more

Bound to Remember
By Lola James

I have to admit I read her other series Fates Design and absolutely loved it. I didn't know about this book till recently when I saw that book 2 is being released soon. Lola definitely had me from the get go. Only took 1 hour to read the whole book cause I couldn't put it down for any amount of money. It had my two loves in life for books Vampires and Mythology. I love both of these types of books and she was able to intricately do both in one book a...more

Bound To Remember is an interesting mish-mash of Greek mythology, vampires, witches, and of course, romance.

Toni is living her life as an emergency room doctor. She doesn’t have time for much more than her job but she would like a little romance. Her ex Kevin is working in the same department and seeing him all the time reminds her how lonely she is.

Enter Ben, the new ER nurse assigned to Toni for orientation. The attraction is strangely obsessive. Toni can’t get Ben out of her mind and when the...more

Not a bad story..... The ending just didn't sit well with me. Left me feeling a little unsatisfied. Seemed just a tad bit rushed after everything leading up to it. But i suppose that's why there's a part two.

Anywho, I was really captivated by the story although it was a bit much. Just less than three days and all ready Toni's best friend is believing that she and Ben are "together"? I'd smack my best friend for ever believing a lie like that from me, let alone smack her for not smacking me for t...more

This was a fast fun read. I picked it up a while back and it was on my TBR list. So this past weekend I read it. Now I am going to have to get the next one.
What I liked about this book was that it had me from the beginning. It gets right into the characters and plot. This is a different type of vampire book and so far not so dark. I like a good story with vampires and witches if there is not too much blood and gore to them. There is a lot of sexual tension going around and I’m hoping she expoun...more

I had this book sitting on my Kindle shelf for awhile now, and I finally decided to read it after finishing another book by Lola . Again, she won me over with the characters and the story line.

What I love about her books is that I can relate with her lead female characters, they aren’t perfect, they have or seem to think they have imperfections. Toni is no exception. Though she is a doctor, she isn’t like her friend Dawn. Popular with the guys and such. Then walks in Ben, tall, dark and oh so...more

Bound to Remember is the first book in a new series by Lola James. The story is about a young doctor named Toni Hollander. She works at a hospital with her best friend Dawn and ex-boyfriend, Kevin. Life is pretty normal until the day a new nurse starts working at her hospital. The new nurse is Benjamin, and Benjamin has a secret, he's a vampire. Benjamin's secret is going to complicate Toni's life. Things become further complicated when Toni and Ben share a steamy kiss, infuriateing Kevin. Throu...more

I was really enjoying this book. The pacing was great... maybe a bit rushed, the characters were easy to connect with (except for the rushed pace which felt unnatural at times) the story fresh... then I tap to turn a page and I am at the end?! I back paged to be sure I didn't miss something. Seems like maybe the book shouldn't have been so rushed or books 1 and 2 should have been combined to create a complete book 1. I was happy with the writing, the characters and the story but the ending turne...more

The premise of the story was okay. That said there were a lot of grammatical errors and it was frustrating too read! I felt the overall story lacking I needed to know more about Toni's and Ben's pasts and more about Hades. The relationship between Ben and Toni went at warp speed- to me they needed to slow down. I did understand their connection, but I wanted more interaction between the two. I didn't like how she would black out that was frustrating I mean she already knew what Ben was there was...more

Probably one of the worst books I have ever read. That will teach me to be more careful when I download free self-published books from Amazon!

So many of these free books feel like they were written by a 15-year-old! This is certainly the case with Bound to Remember. The writing is awful and I wonder if the book was edited at all (repeated paragraphs, spelling mistakes, grammatical errors...). The development of the story is ridiculous and the characters uninteresting. I definitely won't be read...more

This story is great!

I was drawn to this book by the cover and the title. I love it, and seeing that it was a paranormal romance, I had to read it. Great characters. I grew attached to the mysterious Ben right away, wanting to snuggle up to him. Toni is a smart, competent, and independent woman. I liked the way they interacted and the way the paranormals followed the rules, so to speak. Interesting twists and turns led to an explosive, shocking ending which left me anxious for the next book. This is the first book I have read from Lola James and I had to send her a message that she left me hanging and I NEEDED the next book. I find this book relatable for me as I work in the hospital as well and know the crazy things that Toni is going through...kinda lol. Who wouldn't love a book with witches, vampires, greek gods all wrapped into one book. I need to know how the book continues and what is happening to Antonia and her other lovely man...the vampire!

Interesting concept, but I felt that a good editor was needed. Some duplicate paragraphs and other errors. I feel like this was half a book and the author was in a rush. This could have been a great book but fell short. I will not be reading the second one as I cannot stand to read only pieces of a book. I would gladly wait longer for books in a series if the author would finish the first book. Pet peeve of mine.

This is book one of the Spellbound series, it was a rather quick read but I thoroughly enjoyed it. At first I was hesitant to embrace this novel; I thought it would be just another vampire story. But I was happily corrected of my assumption! This is a vampire story with a twist. What an excellent imagination Lola James has, I look forward to what book two, Unbound, has in store for us.

This is a very short book. I like the story, Toni is serious about being a doctor, and then she meets Ben. She is obsessed with him, from the start. They make a cute couple. There are many things going on and not a lot of them get answered right away. Then there’s the ending …not really an ending…on to the next book. I can’t just NOT know what happened to Toni and Ben . Hopefully, Toni will figure it out.
Jessica
i gave this a shot even read the second to try hard to give this a chance but uh just ugh. brilliant creative idea which is the only reason for the stars but unfortunately this author lacks the writing skill necessary to turn a great idea into a great book. also whoever edited this book should be shunned from the literary world
Traci
This was...interesting. I find it weird that she mixed vampire mythology with Greek mythology. A lot of the book seemed rushed through too. The book could have also used another edit: there were some missed punctuation marks and paragraphs that weren't separated. I may continue this one, but I'm glad I found this for free.
Adriane
Cute, and quick, I will definitely be getting the next one. I can tell that H.P. Mallory is friends/mentor to her. Not that their writing styles are similar, but this book was similarily enjoyable. Plus it's only like 99 cents on kindle, so there's really no excuse not to get and read it. Trust me, if you like Paranormal Romance you will not be disappointed.

I liked this book. Not a whole lot, but I did like it. Then the author goes and stops in the middle of something huge, so guess what... I'm going to buy the next one in the series. I have to know what happened. I can't leave it like this in my head!
Kimberlie
Another story full of potential goes to hell in the first chapter because the author self-published without editing. I'm done wading through the author's mistakes to tease out the story. Drop-kicking this one to File 13.
Shannon
This book seemed a little strange at first, but for some reason I couldn't stop reading it. Still not sure how I felt about it, but it was a good, quick read. The cliffhanger at the end made me want to read the next one!
Lisa ~ Books Are My Drugs ~
I liked it, but I did find several typos & other errors which took me a little out of the story. I also found the dialog to be a a little stiff. Overall, though I did enjoy it and would continue to read the series.

A fool for a love story, a sucker for a cupcake, and let’s not talk about what she’d do for a Klondike bar. Lola enjoys long walks on the beach and movies that involve chainsaws.
