‪From page one, the story takes off in a whirlwind and just doesn’t stop. Cat’s teenage temper-tantrums got to be a bit tedious. She acts as though she’s alone against the world, despite family and friends who not only sympathize, but have been in similar situations. Granted, she’s got a reason to be freaked out, but it would have been nice to see her rely on her support system rather than take the moody way out. The pacing was also a little hard to follow in places. I found my self lost and having to go back and read the page before, just to make sure I didn't miss anything, as some of the scene changes were unexpected. There were also a couple of scenes between Ryan and Cat, and Cat and her friends that seemed a little forced.
That being said, I LOVE the concept of this series and I LOVE Cat . At the same time she’s dealing with the realities of being a human/vampire Childe, she’s also a “typical teenager” with typical problems. I also loved how comic relief found it’s way into the story. It was just enough to lighten the intensity in all the right places. A couple of parts that I really enjoyed are 1)The snobby girl I love to hate gets her come-uppance (love it when that happens!) and 2) I adore the sweetness between Ryan and Cat, even though the chemistry was inconsistent. Their relationship seems real and I enjoy the fact that sex isn't really playing a big part in their relationship (YET! I do wonder if it will happen later in the series though!). I really got invested in the story. With every page I just got more and more curious to know what would happen next. Adam and Carol are BRILLIANT storytellers and I can't wait for book three. As amazing as these two are they are masters of the OMG AAARRRRHHHH cliffhangers!‬

I am loving this series because the mythology is really interesting and there are plenty of twists and turns. This book delved even deeper then the first and it answered a lot of my questions, but also brought on a whole new set of questions. I felt bad for poor Cat, she went through a lot in this book. I hope you excuse the rant but I really just love this series. Even so much I can compare the love to two of my other fave series of books Twilight Saga & the Harry Potter series. My love of The Childe Series is up there with them!

So, Dark Days! It starts of just where The Childe ended which I really liked. It felt like the story just continued to flow very easily from the first book to the second book. Cat are protagonist is till trying to get over the shock of finding out she is adopted. But little does she know there are more secrets to come. When Cat finds out that she is in fact a Childe she of course is like, what, your all crazy! But once it sinks in I think she takes it really well and tries to cope with it. Cat is a very strong character which I love!

The thing that I love the most with this series is I can kind of guest a little about certain things that are happening but also I keep getting shock, after shock of new revelations. One thing I did see coming was that there is not only vampires in the town but werewolves as well. Which I love! It seems if there is vampires or vs versus there has to be werewolves!

Again like in The Childe I loved Cat's friends! If you have read The Childe you will know they are a great bunch. Did you all guess Julies secret? I surely didn't, well I knew there was something. Was I that stupid, now I think of it, it makes sense.

Before I wrap this up and sorry again for rambling. I heart Ryan Beckford!!! Can he get any cuter!! I love him and Cat. However if I lived Astoria maybe I would have a chance with him. I am a redhead after all LOL.

Overall I really loved Dark Days! I cant recommend it enough! The ending has left me in suspense! Adam and Carol I need the next instalment(less)

OMG what an INCREDIBLE sequel to an incredible book. Dark Days makes you feel like you are right back in Cat's world. In Dark Days, book 2, Cat's crazy life begins to unravel as she learns secret after secret about herself and the world around her. I HONESTLY could not put this book down. I stayed up until 5:00am reading this book the first day I started it. SERIOUSLY could not wait to find out what happened next.

I really liked meeting the two newly discovered family members of Cat's. Her aunt and uncle. I really liked them. They seemed nice and very sweet! Even for vampires. I liked Ros and I thought she'd be a good mother figure for Cat and I was disappointed when Cat decided to not go with them. I actually wanted her to go and learn with them, but then I thought, She'd be leaving Ryan!

And meeting Duffie, Leif(?)and Generd(?) I'm sorry guys, but I am way too cozy in my bed to go all the way across the room and grab the book! I just noticed something too, I have a teacher who's name is Leif. Haha. Anyways, I really liked Duffie and Leif and I can totally picture Leif to be hunky. I'm thinking Logan Lerman.

I also really liked Cat and Ryan's romance! Ryan is really such a sweetheart. The perfect boyfriend! He even stood out in the rain for her and he's protecting and loving. If you can't tell, I'm jealous.

And I was shocked to find out that almost everybody in town was supernatural. Werewolves, vampires, witches. What's next? Zombies? And Julie too! Wow. I'd never had thought about that. I mean, in the first book it was hinted that she was different. Is Julie's mom even her mom if she's a _______? Yeah. I find it difficult to think it through.

The ending though. The void. Gah! That lady was seriously rude. I hate her. I think her name was Blanch? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm a big too lazy to go look for her name. Haha. But back to the void! Ahh! How could she make her go in there! I hope Duffie and Leif get them back!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait till the 3rd book comes out! I really want to find out what happens in the void! And thanks again to Carol and Adam! 4 Stars!(less)

Cat Colvin, dealing with the fallout of life-changing revelations, is understandably angry and confused, but knows she must quickly come around and come to terms with her new life. As usual, Cat is a charming main character. She feisty, brave and will do anything for her family and friends.

Speaking of family and friends, The Childe is filled with a large, invigorating supporting cast. Cat's parents, Sam and Rachel, are so much fun to read. They are generous, supportive, and sometimes a bit goofy, but always the type of parents you want on your side. Taylor, Cat's brother, was a much easier character to like in Dark Days. Where in The Childe he came across as a bit of a bully and intimidating towards Cat, here he is supporting and protective. Cat's circle of friends, including Julie, Amanda, Matt and Elle, are as before, a great comic relief. The banter between them served to lighten the mood and always dish out a smile.

And, of course, I must talk about Ryan. As Cat's boyfriend, he is a dream. What a nice guy! I love, LOVE when the love interest is just a great guy, in general. Sure, he can be a bit secretive at times, but he doesn't seem to have an ulterior motive or agenda. I look so forward to learning more and more about Mr. Ryan Beckford!

As for the story, Dark Days has so much going on. It is filled with many twists and turns, ongoing secrets and revelations. My favorite is the story behind the original Childe and the coven's relocation to Astoria. I was so happy to be able to read this little chunk of history!

Dark Days went to places I honestly didn't expect. The secrets, the danger, the consequences...everything is ramped up in this book. And the ending? Surprising, evil (good evil), and exhilarating are all words that come to mind. The last chapter will leave you on the edge of your seat, begging for more. Good times, for sure!

With out giving away any spoilers, I can say that I really liked the direction this series is going in. There's so much that's revealed to both Cat and to readers in Dark Days. A lot of questions I was left with at the end of The Childe are answered and now I have new ones I can't wait to have answered in the next installment. I was pleasantly surprised that it's not just Cat who grows up a bit more in this sequel, but a few other characters do as well. I liked the introduction of some new characters and the way their presences only intensifies the mystery that's a big part of this storyline. There's a few shocking discoveries and some fabulous moments between Ryan and Cat.

I didn't think I could adore Ryan any more than I did in the first book, but he's definitely got that irresistible, charming quality about him that it's hard not to. Plus I love how he is with Cat. He can dish it too when she needs, comfort her, and give her the strength she needs at other times. He's that all around great guy who protects, supports and does what every he can for his girl, while also letting her be who she is. Cat for me really grows more into herself in this story. She asks more questions, seeks out answers and does everything she can to protect those around her. She makes a few minor mistakes that I was expecting her to as she learns to accept her heritage and what she is. There's also a good shake up with the things that happen between her and her friends, as well as some people at school.

If you read The Childe, I highly recommend picking up Dark Days. This story literally picks up right where The Childe ended. I love that when a series does that. I think fans will be pleasantly surprised with all that goes on in Cat's world in Dark Days. Talk about a killer ending! There's a fabulous betrayal and a few twists that I didn't even see coming. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next installment in this series. Like The Childe, this is a clean cut read that even tween fans of YA paranormal books will enjoy reading. (less)

A great continuation of the first book, The Childe. This one starts off right after where the last one ended, making it really easy to stay in the story. Added benefit for not having to re-read anything about the first book at the beginning of the second. I really liked The Childe. I loved the characters, the amount of mystery and action in it, and I was well prepared to enjoy Dark Days, however, I was not thinking it was going to be this good! It took it me on one wild ride of twists and turns that I never saw coming. It made me love characters I was previously annoyed with, it gave me insight to things I was confused about before, it answered ALL of the questions I had during the first book and still managed to dump a whole new slew of questions on me at the end. And people, do NOT even get me started on that cliff-hanger of an ending!

Let’s start off with the story line! It picks off basically where The Childe left off. Cat is just realizing she is adopted and soon after that she realizes what is so different about her, she just happens to be half human, half vampire. Yeah, talk about dumping a load of information on someone! Once the story gets going, things just don’t slow down! Cat is put through a ton of tough situations, she is forced to grow up a lot and deal with way more than one person should have to. Friends and family are put at risk, we learn things about the town and all of Cat’s neighbors plus there is a few new people thrown into the mix that make this story extra interesting. Basically you will be entertained from start to finish. There was never a dull moment throughout the whole book!

As for the characters, they couldn’t have been more perfect. We learn the quirks of most characters in The Childe and those quirks are even more predominant in this story. Cat is as sarcastic, silly, and strong as ever. She is such a brave and loyal person, seriously I just love this girl to pieces <3 At the beginning of the story she is hit with a lot of life-changing information and she has a lot of understood anger but in true Cat form, she just deals with it; for her sanity, for her parents’ sanity, and to just try to get back to normal. There trying to help her piece her life together are Ryan and all of her friends. Ryan is calm, a little protective, and always there for her. I was a bit surprised we didn’t see an overwhelming amount of him in this book. Sure he was there for the major events and when Cat needed him most but when he wasn’t there she didn’t just sit around wishing she could hang out with her boyfriend, no, she was spending time with her wild cast of friends! Cat’s group of friends are still the same and still so incredibly great! Matt’s silly, off-the wall comments, Amanda’s feigned disgust at them, Elle’s constant timidness (though she does step out of her shell quite a bit in this book), Julie’s loyalness, Hannah’s constant blushing, all of it just brings a smile to my face every time! It takes a while to learn each and every one of their personalities but by the end of the book you feel like you can be friends with them too! The rest of the characters (there really are too many to mention them all!) are just as great! Cat’s family, the WHOLE family, is so supportive and caring. Her friends throughout the town add a sense of loyalty and even some mystery to the story. And let’s not forget about all the evil people (or I guess the better word would be “things”) that are after her…creepy!

Dark Days proved to be even better than the first book in the series! I was constantly on the edge of my seat and flipping through pages like a mad woman to try to get to the bottom of everything only to be left hanging out to dry at the end! I will recommend this series to anyone, it keeps getting better and better! There are moments that will make you laugh, some will make you cry, and MANY will have you dying to know more. Just trust me when I say take a chance on this series, it is so worth it!(less)

I first read C.A. Kunz's book The Childe in May and I loved it. I loved the characters, the feel and the flow of the story. Dark Days takes up right where The Childe left off and it more than delivers. The characters are more enchanting than ever before and the story flow is so clean and crisp it draws you completely in. I liked everything about this book and cannot wait to get my hands on book 3. Kudos to C.A Kunz for giving me a world I absolutely adore.

Dark Days is another fantastic book in the series by the mother and son duo, C.A. Kunz. This book is non-stop action. There is always something going on. I love that there are so many characters involved in the story, yet we get to spend time with all of them. We see a softer side of Taylor (which I love), a protective side from Ryan, and even get to meet some new characters. Once again I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!

C.A. Kunz did an amazing job. They really did an excellent job with where the story was going to go next, and they didn't waste any time. Usually you have to get through the first 50 pages of a novel to get to the good stuff, but this was excellent from page one. I am really liking this series a lot. Even if there is a cliff hanger, and I'm impatient when it comes to those. I hope book 3 is coming soon.

The characters are terrific, they really draw you in, and are believable.I like the way various supernaturals are being dealt with in these books. They're not the typical, accepted mythos, and I like that.

The series just gets better and better as you go along. The new book picks right up where the last one left off. There is teen angst, testing of friendships, mystery, secrets, revelations, more secrets and a little romance. Definitely worth adding to your collection. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Dark Days is the continuation story of The Childe. Cat finds out that she is half vampire and that someone is trying to hunt her down. I really enjoyed this second book and can't wait for the third, (especially because it ends at a cliff hanger!). Great story!

After getting The Childe free on Amazon, I checked it out and fell in love with it. I immediately bought Dark Days and found it even more amazing. The world in Dark Days is so interesting. The characters are smart and funny. The end of Dark Days will definitely leave you hanging on for more. I can't wait for the next book to come out.
