Recommends it for: romantics
I bought this book when we were looking for a Rilke poem for our wedding ceremony, and fell in love with a number of poems/poets I didn't know. It is a lovely ecclectic compilation of love poems spanning the history of the English language, arranged thematically rather than by period, which works very well.
