I like that books like this get published: good on you, Sceptre! Not sure that I like the book itself that much, though. The first part was kind of intriguing, more poetry than prose, repetition of Jach's themes of deodorant and radioactivity and crowds and history-induced anxiety set in a second-person discussion of the layers that make up Paris. The second part looks at some of the players you'll find buried in those layers: the Romans and the Barbarians. Here things get a lot more ...more
