Once the circus is set up, Mrs. Jumbo loses her temper at a group of boys for making fun of her son, and she is locked up and deemed mad. Dumbo is shunned by the other elephants and with no mother to care for him, he is now alone, except for a self-ap...more

Dumbo written by Helen Aberson
My big sister used to call me Dumbo because my little ears stuck straight out! (I was just as ornery with my retort calling her Purina Dog Chow.)
My dad would soothe my hurt feelings by first reading Dumbo, then the Ugly Duckling. "Now see," he would say, "how unkind words can hurt. Poor little Dumbo couldn't help how different his ears were - he was still precious and beautiful to his mommy and daddy. Someday he will grow up and ...more

The movie always freaked me out a bit, and the overall meaning and point behind the story is a good one, but the story just never completely interested me (in the written version). Although, my kids do love the book,
A picture book version of the Disney movie. Will be most enjoyable to children who have seen the movie as most scenes are so briefly summarized that it can be hard to follow at times.
Pure magic. I am convinced that this book was one of the very early, formative events of my life. No kidding. Thanks, Mom, for keeping me surrounded by Little Golden Books!
Very cute classic Dumbo. Julia loves Dumbo and can listen to the story over and over again.
I was never big on the book or movie. It always made me cry, but I was bored throughout.

This was such an emotionallywinding tale. I love it.
A shorter version of the Disney movie Dumbo. I have always loved elephants so Dumbo will always be a favorite Disney character of mine and though there are parts of this story that I don't love overall it's a cute story.

When I pick up this book, it reminds me of my Grandmother and how she would read this book for me EVERYDAY because it put a smile on my face. I will always remember this book because it holds a connection between me and my Grandmother that'll never be broken.
I just can't get past the scene where Dumbo's mother gives the bully the spanking he "deserves." No child deserves a spanking.
This i s a classic and a great book--not to mention the book my brother hit me with, causing me to get stitches...
Another one of those little golden books i had, the TV series 'Dumbo's Circus' was also quite enjoyable.
Buku yg bagus untuk mengajarkan anak supaya ga menilai sesuatu cuma dari penampilan luarnya.
Elle loved this book as a small toddler. She wanted me to read every night, over and over.
A great story about rising above adversity and being yourself. definitely worth the read!
Our girls love Dumbo! We've read this story over and over.
