I'm always looking for books I can read with my eight-year-old son. I'm a homeschooler and it can be a challenge to find books that we both enjoy. But The Broken Thing by Peter Swift was a great fit. It was creepy and interesting and filled with loveable characters. My son, who is a bit of a reluctant reader, was often laughing out loud or begging for one more chapter, especially during the suspenseful conclusion. A great book for all ages!
