Love, hate, suspense, tension, thrill, yearning, sorrow, happiness... They all exist in this book. We see how the separate lives are actually one life linked together by one missing child. We see how love is fired again. We see how joy arises after misery, and how the sun rises following a thick mist of darkness.
Sometimes there must be a disaster in order to disclose reality and to find true happiness, which is always there but which we cannot see. After they found out that their little daughter...more

I have read many novels by Colleen Coble and loved every one of them. This one is no different. The main characters are Eden and Clay. They were once married, until their daughter was kidnapped and the relationship just couldn’t handle the pressures of it all. Eden moved to get away from it all and go forward with her life. Just as she is preparing to begin a new relationship in a new town, Clay returns to tell Eden that they are still married and he thinks their daughter is still alive. In orde...more

The book I chose to read is Lonestar Angel by Colleen Coble. This is one unbelievable, heart racking, heartwarming, down to the bone, outstanding novel. I’ve never read anything like this before. If every book I were to read would be like this, I would be reading all the time. A few things that I love about her writing are her style, how she made each character have a different effect, and the plot. I personally have no negative feedback on this book.

Feeling this has something to do with his job, Clay is more than willing to put up the ten-thousand dollar ransom demand. However in the process of delivering the money to the drop site on a...more
Lonestar Angel seemed like it could actually happen. This is the first book I have read of the Lonestar series. All the books seem to center on the Bluebird ranch for troubled children and teens. Each book has a different situation and characters, therefore, each could be considered stand alone books.

To clear things up, this is the second novel I ever read by Colleen Coble. For reading the first I was mocked and looked down upon. Wow, I was reading a women's romance novel, so I should obviously be made fun at, right? Seriously, guys? Haven't you ever heard the saying, never judge a book by its cover? I'm talking literally, here, as I'm talking about a book. Due to the shame that was brought upon me for reading The Lightkeeper's Ball, the only person who even knew I was reading this book was...more

I love a book that whisks you away on an adventure from the first page, and that is exactly what Lonestar Angel does. Eden Larson is about to get engaged to Kent, a wonderful, sweet man she met at church. That is until ex-husband Clay appears at the couple’s table and announces that they are still married…and their baby, who she’d long since given up as dead, is still alive.

Part of Chapter 1
“Silverware tinkled in the dimly lit dining room of twenty, an upscale restaurant located inside Charley Creek Inn, a classy boutique hotel. Eden Larson smiled over the top of her glass of water at Kent Huston. He was so intelligent and kind. His blue eyes were filled with intent tonight, and she had known what he had planned from the moment he suggested this place for dinner.

From page 1, the tension began to build. It was page 321 before I could draw a deep breath and relax. “Lonestar Angel,” Book Four of Colleen Coble’s The Lonestar Novels, has the perfect amount of tension from chapter to chapter. Just as the reader thinks she has solved the mystery, another twist is added and the question of “whodunit” continues until the end. Obviously, I’m not going to tell you “whodunit” –you have to buy the book and find out for yourself.
Not only does the tension grab the rea...more

I enjoyed this story greatly. It was suspenseful throughout and kept me guessing for 2/3rds of the story. It was a good blend of who was their child and who sent them there. I also enjoy series where you can see previous characters in supporting roles. It helps me determine whether their story is one that I would enjoy reading. I find Colleen Coble's style of writing to be varied, her ideas are to be realistic and make for exciting reads. Whether modern or...more

“Lonestar Angel” is a blend of romance and suspense that surprised me on both counts. I really didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this novel, but what I got hidden between the pages was quite the ride.
I like to read stories of couples that have been torn apart by difficult situations and brought back together over what tore them apart in the first place. And you really can’t get any more dramatic for a romantic suspense than to have a six week old baby girl kidnapped from her pare...more

This was another freebie Amazon sent me to read and review. I liked this book okay, but it certainly wasn't my favorite. I was looking more for that mystery type of book like the "Hunger Games" or "Michael Vey". Unfortunately, this was just average. The story line kept me involved, but there were times when the twists and turns just got too much and too unbelievable. So, I found myself engaged at times and wanted to put it down other times. The romance between Clay and Eden just wasn't engaging...more
Lonestar Angel is a suspenseful romance with a dash of faith. This book grabbed me from page one. It has all the ingredients for the perfect book. Eden and Clay both come from broken homes. They have a whirlwind romance that leaves Eden expecting. They marry and have a beautiful daughter named Brianna. What they don't have is faith in each other, their marriage or communication skills. When Brianna is kidnapped and presumed dead...their marriage falls apart. Eden runs from the pain and believes...more

When the baby got bigger, the kind found out that the wicked witch had lied. Their baby wasn't died, she'd just been hidden away. All they have to do is find her and they will be a family a...more

I’m a sucker for romance novels and this one seemed like it might be up that ally. I found this book to be a fast read for me. One I could pull out at a Dr.’s waiting room and polish off a chapter or two before my name was called. That’s a must for me lately because with two toddlers I don’t have much “Me” time. The Author weaves a story of intrigue that keeps you guessing with a fast-moving plot with plenty to keep you on the edge of your seat. Her characters are down-to-earth and believable. T...more

I just love, love, love this book. Colleen Coble is one of my favorite authors and this book didn’t disappoint. I was taken in by the very first paragraph.
The characters are very realistic and loveable, but the action and adventure outweighed all of the other parts of the book. What was even more wonderful was the special love story.
