Very academic look at the history of Brazil from a US Professor. The last chapter offers some advice to the country on how to become a true player in the world economic arena. Published in 1999, it seems archaic as so much has changed in Brazil in 14 years. A bit dry, but accurate and seemingly unbiased. I learned some interesting things that I didn't already know.
