I gave this book 3.5 rating on my blog, but rounded up.

I'm a newbie to the Zombie Craze. Yes, I watch The Walking Dead, but only just recently, and I fast-forward through the really yucky parts. And though I have a few sitting on my bookshelf, I haven't actually read any zombie-centric books. So when author Rusty Fischer offered me a copy of his book, I happily jumped at the chance to dig in...so to speak.

With a name like Panty Raid at Zombie High, you expect a funny, sort of tongue-in-cheek boo...more

For those who aren't in the know, Rusty Fischer is kinda funny. He takes the zombie genre and pokes fun at it, but keeps his stories interesting and entertaining as hell. I read Zombies Don't Cry and was greatly amused, especially be the mean, spineless, snarky asshat Zerkers.I received Panty Raid @ Zombie Highfrom Rusty and completely forgot to review it for him. I'm a terrible book blogger, I know, but I am now highlighting it because it is worth reading.

While Zombie High’s not quite the higher level of learning you might think, it is a zombie rehabilitation center which has, surprisingly enough, had some success by way of Zombie Panties. When Toby’s best friend – and secret crush – disappears, it’s up to him and her boyfriend, Spud, to find her. Trouble is, they kind of already know where she is… at Zombie High. Even with backup, things don’t go quite as planned as there is more than...more

This book is written in 1st person but it's that annoying first person style where the narrator is talking to you (the reader) and asking questions and such. I am not a fan of this style, it bugs me. Write in first, second, third person - fine, but I just don't like the narrator asking me questions.

The story itself had a good basis. There was a zombie outbreak and the government are trying to rehabilitate the teenage zombie by using "zombie panties", which are kind of like those horrible shock c...more

I was reading Vampire's Drool Zombie's Rule and Zombie's Don't Cry when I request this book so I was kind of on a Rusty Fischer roll. I thought it would be pretty much the same as these two as they had simular form. Boy was I wrong. While it still has Mr Fischer's style and flare, it's not the same.
Toby and Spud are two human teens who plan to save their friend Molly from Zombie High. Not what your thinking well at least it wasn't what I was thinking. But before they young men can save Molly the...more

Panty Raid at Zombie High by Rusty Fisher.

I’ve read some of Rusty Fisher’s other stories and he never disappoints. His writing is tight, his imagery is good and I will never look at a turkey dinner the same way again after reading Panty Raid. Somehow, he makes being a zombie… cool…

It’s always hard when two friends are hot over the same girl, especially one who happens to be their best friend. Still friendships are maintained until the unthinkable happens… the Toby’s two best friends, Molly and...more

WARNING: do not drink mt. Dew while reading this book.

I really quite enjoyed this book. I'm a huge fan of rusty fischer's other zombie book, zombies don't cry, so I decided to give this one a go. Let me tell you, I'm glad I gave this one a shot!

Do you remember those horror movies that are corny but you love them anyway because they make you smile and laugh? Well, panty raid @ zombie high is my corny horror book since, well, its the only book that has made mt. Dew code red spray outa my nose from...more

This is my second novel from Rusty Fischer and it’s just as fantastic as the first one I read (Ushers Inc.). It certainly has me wanting to read another, so I guess it’s a good thing I have two more of his just waiting to devoured on my Kindle.

If you are familiar with any of his novels then this one won’t disappoint, it has what I’m starting to call “classic Fischer” style. He takes a rather serious and gory topic, zombies, and makes them…super enjoyable. They are still the hungry in the scaries...more

There are books that you read that infect your brain. That affect the chemistry of how you think and react and deal with life. Panty Raid @ Zombie High is one of those books. Here’s an example: there’s a scene involving rat brains. Today at PetsMart, we were looking at the guinea pigs, and there happened to be a fancy rat (yes, they labeled it as “fancy,” though I’d never describe a rat as “fancy”)in the cage next to the pigs, and I couldn’t look at the rat without thinking of it as a source of...more

This book is a decent read. I was hoping it was going to be a lot like Zombies Don't Cry, but it wasn’t. The story line was very interesting, and there was great back story on the characters. The main character got on my nerves though. He is your typical teenage boy. The thing I found annoying was his constant inner commentary about female anatomy. Although I’ve been told that all boys that age think like this. So I don’t completely hold this against Toby. Molly is a very strong character when s...more

I spent an enjoyable afternoon reading this amusing lark. The zombie plot was tongue-in-cheek implausible but fun. Horror is most definitely not my milieu, but the title was irresistible, and the story reads like a clever send-up of the genre. Fischer's first person stream of consciousness point of view has a smart, authentically adolescent voice that rings through. And while no serious attempt is made to convey any meaningful purpose, the zombie angle is an interesting way to portray high schoo...more

I'm not exactly sure what to say about this little e-book. It was definitely fun and different and kept me laughing. Although a bit juvenile at times (which, in all honestly, just adds to the silliness of the story line, so it fits), the campiness and energy really carry it through to the end. A really fun and different kind of young adult novel.

Rusty Fischer’s Panty Raid at Zombie High is a combination of humor and zombie horror that will make its readers laugh one minute and cringe the next. With a creepy setting, an insane mad scientist, a teenaged love interest, a battle for survival, and enough gore to satisfy the most bloodthirsty readers, this is sure to please its Young Adult audience. I found this book to be a lot of fun, which proves that you don’t necessarily need to be a teen to enjoy it.
