See more of my reviews on The YA Kitten! My copy was an ARC I received in a swap with a friend.

I'm in such a reading slump! I had one awesome book and one good novella in the last week, and every other book I've read since then has been either mediocre or bad. I don't like the way it makes me look like I hate everything because I don't. I'm just in the company of some unimpressive books that clash with my feminist ideals or are lacking in quality. I wanted Auracle to break me out of that slump,...more

Utterly original and refreshing, Auracle is a breath of fresh air with its addicting premise full of riveting turns. This was even more so in my case where I hadn't read the synopsis in ages and, therefore, had no idea what I was getting into, causing me to be shocked by the actual premise itself. It absolutely thrilled me.

Since I'm hoping you all get the same exciting experience of going in blind I won't bring up the primary plot line, but work my way around it. What I can safely tell you, is i...more

There's extreme fangirling ahead!

Let me start by expressing my fellings before and after I read the book.

I loved Auracle! It was brilliant! I loved the plot, characters, setting, prose- everything!

Reading AURACLE was an amazing experience for me, particularly because I was the first person on the list of the Class of 2k12 ARC Tour. I know it sounds silly, but I felt special because I'd gotten an early peek at a book that people are going to go bonkers for. I loved everything about this story. I'll start with the cover--it's magical and mysterious and just plain beautiful. The cool thing is that all the very same words--that I just rattled off--also apply to the story inside. The plot feel...more

Lets start off by saying this is a MUST read of 2012 and that’s the truth! I want to thank Gina for letting me experience the wonderful journey this book took me on and a huge thanks for writing it for us as well! The story of Anna was so different from most books I have read and I have to say it was remarkable! How cool yet scary it must have been for her to be able to astrally project form herself while she slept. The place’s she is able to visit, how exciting that must have been. Yet the only...more

Thank you so much to the author gina rosati for giving me a copy to review.

When I first heard about this book on goodreads, I was really intrigued as it sounded so different to any book I had ever read, astral projection sounds cool huh. Well it was until the main character was astrally projecting to check on something major that was happening, and while she was “out” of her body, a dead classmate inhabits her body and leaves her with nothing. Anna is left with no body to go back too and a huge...more

Before I start,I wanna give to Gina a huge “Thank you!” and many hugs for sending me this book. Thanks,Gina!xo

When I first read about “Auracle” on Goodreads I thought that I have to read this book because I’ll love it.And I was right.

I liked this book a lot.In the beginning it was a little boring to be honest, but interesting because it was about a girl who could astral project from her body.Besides, the friendship between Anna and Rei is the friendship that I’ve always wanted to have and I never h...more

Auracle is the debut novel of Gina Rosati and it made sure I will continue reading whatever this author s going to write. It was such a lovely and entertaining reading that I couldn't put it down and had to read it in one sitting. What can I say? The book is just adorable: even if I knew that Anna was going to get into trouble for her astral projection ability, I loved the way Gina described it and I wasn't disappointed. I probably would have liked to know a little bit more about Anna's gift,as...more

I was very excited about reading this book early. This is the first book I have read about astral projection. That itself makes this book phenomenal. It was very nice to be able to read something different. It would be very cool to astrally project. The places and things Anna gets to see are truly amazing.

I truly adored the characters. Well, most of them anyway. I really wanted to hurt Taylor. What she put Anna, Rei, and Seth through, was truly horrible. By the end of the story though, I did s...more

Auracle was simply surprising. I had major cover lust from the moment I laid eyes on this breath-taking artwork, and I had to find out why this girl was hovering next to a beautiful waterfall. I was not disappointed when the cover was actually part of the story! How refreshing when that happens.

Gina Rosati’s writing style is clear, beautiful and descriptive, and she blends a thrilling, addictive storyline with romance and tension that kept me engaged through the whole story. Anna is a compellin...more

So cool!

I was super excited to read this because I remember reading a few novels featuring astral projection in Jr High and loving them. The concept of AURACLE gives me shivers - because that is the big fear - that if you leave your body, someone else will snatch it right up and you won't be able to get it back. And Rosati delivers the creepy goods. We see the good parts of astral projection (Anna can go some amazing places - like inside volcanos), but then we quickly see the huge consequence. A...more

I loved the cover of this book when I first saw it, but now that I've read the book, I totally get it and love it a thousand times more. This is a great page-turning read that has a surprising amount of humor in its very fast-paced and compelling story. It is very much a paranormal, but something a little different than what I'm used to from the genre, which made it a very refreshing read about a girl who can astrally project and her best friend who try to fix the bad situation they find themsel...more

Dort...more

Weniger erst. Jugendlicher. Im Grund aber doch ganz interessant.

Anna kann ihren Körper verlassen. Astralreisen.

When I read the description of this book in which the main character is capable of astral projection, I was very leery that it would be too “new age.” Or, that the author would be not-so-subtly trying to convince all of her readers that souls definitely can leave their bodies and roam around the world unseen. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised how enjoyable and not annoying Auracle was.

While the main character, Anna, is indeed capable of leaving her body behind when she pleases, this abilit...more

Even though the story is about Anna I love Seth he's just I don't he's like me in some insane sort of way, "If Taylor took the time to know Seth, she would realize he's a complicated guy with unresolved anger issues, according to the school psychologist, or as Seth calls him, That Douchebag." Anna I loved as well with her quirky remarks, "I'm going all out and making canned soup," I tell him. "Because the he can just drink his damn dinner." I love being in Anna's mind especially on a certain sub...more

Anna can astral project. In fact, she's so adept at it that she can travel out of her body in any boring class and witness a volcano eruption, or go to Madagascar and play with animals when she should be in her bed. Who cares what her best friend, Rei, has to say about it? Given her unsatisfactory home life, she finds escape in going to other places. When Anna stumbles upon the scene of the crime, she knows she can prove that the guilty par...more

Even after reading the synopsis for AURACLE, I still didn't quite know what to expect. I've read less than a handful of stories about astral projection and since this is a shorter book I didn't know how this aspect was going to tie into the plot. The last astral projection read I can recall is STRANGER WITH MY FACE by Lois Duncan, and there's no question that it's a dark, disturbing story. I would say that AURACLE is definitely a lighter read, though not fully lighthearted. It has a fe...more

I jumped into this one after reading Stormdancer, so I can't help but compare the two.
It's not as exotic and writing is not as lyrical. It almost feels bland. Unlike the Stormdancer, though, it's very easy to follow.
The plot itself is captivating. You can't help but wonder how they're gonna get out of this mess, and grind your teeth.
The budding romance was sweet. It's a slow building romance based on years of friendship, not instant infatuation.
Rei is perhaps my favorite character. No matter...more

AURACLE surprised me a lot…Well, just reading from the blurb makes one think this is another YA book, with paranormal bits…only that this book had got a lot more twist. Kudos to Ms. Rosati for writing a story with no vampires, angels or werewolves..at least ghost and astral projections are not so common and bland subjects.>:D

And how about the cover? Blue does fine. The girl, the falls, the light, it’s simple but put in a mysterious and beautiful wa...more

Gina Rosati's debut novel takes on a paranormal ability I haven't seen covered in YA books yet: astral projection. The ability will be familiar to anyone like me who is old enough to have watched Charmed. (Are there people reading this too young to have seen Charmed? Please say no, because I'm feeling old right now.)

Anna Rogan can leave her body and travel all around the world in the space of a history class. Her best friend Rei is the only one who knows about her ability. (Rei is short for Robe...more

Anna has a unique ability to attune herself to the vibrations of the world and astrally project from her body. For as long as she can remember she's used this knack to travel, escape, and do things her everyday life can't afford. When tragedy strikes leaving Anna without a body, it not only opens her eyes to the things she's taken for granted but will also challenge the extent of her abilities.

Sadly the most exciting thing about Auracle was the cover. Gina Rosati's debut was ok, and by all means...more
