When I was contacted about being a part of this blog tour, I have to say I was so very excited. I'd read the synopsis for the first book and it sounded like something I would love. I'm very interested in mythology and I love a book that can make me laugh. I am pleased to report that I adored both of these books.
The story is told from the points of view of the two main characters, Meg and Shar. These girls are convinced they could not be more different from one another and on the surface, that c...more

Sirenz Back in Fashion by Charlotte Bennardo and Natalie Zaman is the sequel to Sirenz. This series follows Shar and Meg who once again have found themselves in unwilling service to Hades again. Shar is swept away to the underworld. While there her existence is completely missing from Meg's world, replaced by rich girl Paulina whom Meg has to trick into wearing the golden fleece which will send her to Hades.

First of all, if you haven’t read Sirenz yet, I think you could read Sirenz Back in Fashion with little confusion. The authors did a nice job referencing enough from the first book, without bogging the beginning with summary, that a reader could continue with the sequel and not be confused the entire time reading. That being said, I still think you should read Sirenz first simply because it’s such a fun book!

I had eyed SIRENZ BACK IN FASHION for awhile before it eventually crossed my desk. I’d acquired SIRENZ awhile back but never read it, but thanks to the lovely authors (who, by the way, are both truly awesome), I decided to pick this one up and give it a shot. And honestly, I don’t know why I was a bit scared of this. Well, maybe it was the cover, but no, not a good excuse. Although I must make a suggestion based on my own experience – while not really necessary, reading SIRENZ before its sequel...more
The Gods and Goddess are back and making trouble for Meg and Shar again. But this time around they might have bitten off more than they can handle with Hades.
The girls are back in their world and think they are done with all things Gods. Until, Shar finds a ring from Hades in her purse. Meg talks her into trying it on thinking nothing will happen when she does. But the ring gets stuck on her finger and the one God they don’t want to see pops up and says they are in his debt again. Hades whisks...more

Shar and Meg return in this second novel of the series. Though the two will make the reader laugh, they might come off as a little annoying at times. The authors really captured the "teen" spirit and channelled it throughout the book. The pair are up to their antics yet again when Shar decides she simply must try on a certain ring...ending with them doing errands for Hades once again. The reader will see more of Persephone in this book as Shar prepares a ball for her. Meg is stuck finding anothe...more
Shar and Meg have just gotten back to normalcy after having to serve Hades as sirens in the previous book after being tricked by him. They decide to go on a little shopping spree and oops, at the bottom of Shar's purse is a Tiffany's box. She knows there is a five carat, flawless, emerald cut diamond set in platinum because Hades gave it to her in the last book. She never really accepted it because well, it kind of looks like an engagement ring and Persephone has one just like it. And she kind o...more
Sirenz Back in Fashion is the second book in the Sirenz series. Two months after the disastrous deal Meg and Shar made with Hades, god of the Underworld, they thought they were free and done with him, ready to finish school and move on with their lives. They just want to forget about the dreadful deal with Hades – he tricked them into becoming his sirens – but inevitably the world is full of reminders and they learn that some gifts aren’t worth the price.

MY THOUGHTS
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT
So, the Meg and Shar are back to being just roomies when Shar finds a little Tiffany's box in her purse. The ring is from Hades and Meg convinces Shar she should at least try on the 5 carat stone before she dumps it since she knows Shar will regret it later. Yeah, that wasn't such a good idea. The ring reactivates the contract between them and Hades and even though they though they went through the contract with a fine tooth comb, they missed the really small print o...more

The Short Story? - In the name of fashion, Sirenz Back in Fashion is definitely the flavour of this season! With Bennardo and Zaman's signature wit and humour, this highly anticipated sequel does not disappoint fans of Sirenz! With all the downright dirty fashion of Sirenz, a brand new plot, some swoon worthy greek boys and a new mission for Shar and Meg, Sirenz Back in Fashion will have you laughing from cover to cover!

I remember reading Sirenz last year and thinking what an awesome, funny story it is, you can swallow it whole in one sitting. Well, if possible, Sirenz Back In Fashion is even better!
What I like about Bennardo & Zaman's writing is how light it is. I jumped right in after finishing book one. If it is possible this book is even better than the first- that may have something to do with some pretty smokin demi-gods. Meg and Shar find themselves once again locked in contract with Hades. This time around he tries to divide and conquer...Meg stays up top with a mission to send Paulina to the Underworld using a golden fleece, all she has to do is get her to try it on (sounds easy right?) Shar is whisked away down below to stay in the Underworld a...more
Sirenz Back in Fashion was cute, funny, and a massive improvement from Sirenz (book 1 in the Sirenz series). Once again Shar and Meg unwittingly make a deal with Hades that has them begging for mercy. The premise is exactly the same as Sirenz, but there were several plot elements that made the story much more enjoyable.
First and foremost, instead of a bunch of failed attempts to send someone Meg and Char do not care about and have never really interacted with to the Underworld, Meg must deal wit...more

This is another great installment of the Sirenz series, a modern take on the Greek myths. I think I liked it even more than the first book. Shar and Meg are up against Hades again, and along the way meet even more Greek gods and goddesses.
I felt like there was more mythology explored in this book than the first, the girls meet a lot of deities and learn their stories. I won't reveal who the major two gods and goddesses are that they are helping this time around, because it's way more fu...more
This was the second book in the Sirenz series which I was lucky enough to win. Each chapter flipped back and forth being told from the point of view from each of the two main characters. I didn't care for this at first but once I got used to it I really enjoyed the book. It was easy to follow the story even though I never read the first book. The characters and their reactions were cute and it was a fun twist on the Greek gods and Hades' Underworld. I am interested to see what happens next with...more

When I first heard that there was a sequel to the laugh out loud, joy of a novel called Sirenz, I was so excited. What kind of trouble can Shar and Meg get themselves into after the catastrophe in Sirenz? I should have know that Hades wasn't finished with them just yet, and this time, they had to fulfill their missions apart from each other.

If you’re looking for a fun, smooth and entertaining read for the summer, the Sirenz series would probably be perfect for you. After all, this series is seriously funny as Hell (yes, pun intended, as bad as it is)
Meg and Shar are once again caught in one of Hades schemes. After Shar punts on a ring given by Hades (after being convinced to so by Meg, which surprised me, to be honest. When I read the summary, I was sure that Shar simply wanted the ring…) Hades is back, and he is taken the girls on...more

Shar and Meg are back for more adventures in this second installment to the Sirenz series. One of the things that makes these books work so well is the relationship between these two unlikely friends. Shar and Meg developed their close connection in the first book, and it continues in book two. But I would have liked to have seen them be together a little bit more in this book. Although they are connected, much of the book takes place with them physically apart, as Shar is trapped in the Underwo...more
When I read the summary for this book, I knew I had to read it. I'm a mythology nut. The title should have tipped me off that this was a sequel (to Sirenz), but well, I didn't pick up on it right away. Still, you don't need to have read the first book to enjoy this one. And let me tell you, I really loved this story. Shar and Meg are both really fun characters. They are very different. Shar loves everything related to fashion, but don't let that fool you because she's feisty and ready to give Ha...more
Sirenz Back in Fashion was just the right mixture of paranormal and humor. Meg and Shar’s sarcastic comments about their predicaments had me laughing the entire time. They made sure the book did not get too serious and bogged down in the negative. Instead, it was a light read that flowed easily from one chapter to the next. He paranormal Hades was just as charming and cunning as in the last book. Hades was willing to do anything to make sure Shar was his, and he was crafty about going about it....more
Sirenz is one of those light fluffy book that you just absolutely devour with its quirky characters and clever lines that make you giggle - and some days that's EXACTLY the type of book you need to read!

I really wanted to like this book, but I just thought it was okay. I don't know if it's because I still have The Goddess Test and Goddess Interrupted still fresh on my mind, and the books aren't comparable because this one is a comedy and the others are more serious, but the story kind of paled in comparison.
On its own merits, I had a hard time getting into this book. I didn't really connect to either Shar or Meg - Shar was rather annoying, and I thought Meg was sort of a witch. I didn't find th...more

I read Sirenz, the first book in this series a while ago and it was such a fun read and as you probably already know, I'm a bit obsessed with Greek Mythology and the appearance of it in YA makes me all giddy and excited to read anything to do with it! So when I saw there would be a sequel to Sirenz I went LET ME HAVE IT!! And I was definitely not disappointed!

Shar and Meg’s adventure continues in Sirenz Back in Fashion. Just when they thought everything was back to normal, Hades struck again but this time the duo couldn’t work together. It got worse when everything about Shar was erased from the face of the earth. No one but Meg remembered her.

Greek mythology has never been more fabulous!
I absolutely LOVED Sirenz, when I received it for review from the two lovely authors, and so when I heard that the sequel was up for request on NetGalley, I jumped on that offer. The sequel definitely did not disappoint! The humor was amazing as always, and the Greek mythology references just kept coming in it's own glamourous and glitzy fashion.

Zaman and Bennardo really bring the Gods and Goddesses to life for a new generation to enjoy. We all slogged through traditional Mythology in HS, and it was never this much fun. Take a ride with Shar and Meg as they try to outwit Hades-the sexy Lord of the Underworld-who tricks them into doing his bidding once again. I can't wait to read the next installment in this clever series. Bravo!

A lot of the novels I read are pretty dark and serious, so sometimes I’m just in the mood for something light and fun but with an edge to it. When I read about Sirenz Back in Fashion by Charlotte Bennardo and Natalie Zaman, it sounded like exactly the kind of break I was looking for. Who could resist two snarky teenage friends giving Hades a hard time? Read the rest of my review at http://popcornreads.com/?p=4023.

I'm living one dream; my book, Sirenz, co-authored with best gal pal Natalie Zaman, debuts from Flux in June. I'd like to be able to chase my other dreams where ever they take me, but that's dependent upon money, time, political unrest, contractual agreements, book revisions, if cat will let me, and if I have to make dinner.
