The Deal: Ambrielle was expecting a warmer welcome when she showed up at Danny's doorstep in the middle of the night. But bleary-eyed, depressed Dany wasn't very welcoming, and the fact she just barged in and revealed herself to be his fairy godmother - with inside knowledge to every major and minor event of his life - didn't help things at all.
But Ambrielle is determined to help Danny whether he wants it or not. After a couple of blunders in the last few months, Ambrielle has been put on proba...more

As part of her probation, fairy godmother Ambrielle must clean up the life of one of her most screwed up charges--Danny. He is in a job he hates, just broke up with the woman he loves, and his life is only going to get worse if Ambrielle doesn't intervene, and soon. She is given 24 hours to set him on the right track or they both lose everything.

Ambrielle is a fairy godmother who is on probation from making one too many screw ups this year. In order to redeem herself, she helps one of her more stubborn charges who happens to be a bachelor. In all honesty, I did not enjoy this book at all!! From the beginning of the story, I just felt that I was thrown into the book blind and knew nothing about it. There was no sign of back story, prologue, or anything. Even though this book was 29 pages, it took me a few days to read it, just because I...more

This is one funny story and Ambrielle is this tenacious godmother who really won't stop until she gets the ending right with Danny. I give this 4 stars and not only because it's free but because of the hilarity of it all. Amrbielle's antics in trying to get Danny fired are just LOL moments and I could just imagine Danny's ordeal as he goes through that day, talk about Murphy's law! I kept picturing a dark-haired Kristen Wiig as Ambrielle that even made it funnier in my head.
"The Magic Touch" by Dara England gets an extra star for being a free Kindle book as I am not sure I would have been as generous had I paid for it.
This is a (very) short story and as such, there's no time to weave interesting and intricate patterns into the character's journey. It's a bit "wham, bam, thank you Ma'am!"

The Magic Touch was a good short read . I don't normally read books in this genre, chick-lit. It was a steady read, nothing truly exciting, but it did hold my interest. The lesson, I found in the book was to follow your dreams and get unstuck from your dreadful day to day existence. Go out on faith and see what happens!
This lovely short story by Dara England is well written. All book is quite sweet and enjoyable with witty dialogues. I liked the plot, it was very easy to imagine. Although the story is great, it must be noted that it is very, very short. You can read it with one or two sits! The end was quite week, I hoped something more juicy.
Cute short story about a fairy godmother on probation and the unwilling charge whose life she must fix.
A great pick me up, find out how a 28 year old handles a visit from his fairy god mother.
